There seemed to be a shortage of staff - we saw only one person throughout our stay - he was trying to tackle everything which ofcourse led to delays
Nice , quiet , away from the crowds yet accessible to the beach
It was so peaceful here. Only twice did I run into another couple while venturing out. Len
The property is beautiful and the proprietors worked so hard to make sure that all the guests were taken care of even with staff calling in sick over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. We might have to make this a tradition for Thanksgiving.
Loved the rooms with private courtyard Sincerity and effort of managers Extremely clean Excellent dinner & breakfast Wine tasting
THe hotel clerk was rude, he needs to learn how to great guests, courtesy and manners. Our TV didn't work, the coffee maker didn't work, the bathroom door made a lot of noise. We will not stay here again.
The place was peaceful. The gardens was beautiful.
The property is well located to visit Bodega Bay and Sonoma Wine Country. The Inn is quaint and charming and the breakfasts were European style and very good.
They have WiFi but you have to pay 9.95 for the password. No microwave in room. Bedside lamp broken, smoke alarm hanging out of the ceiling, rod to open mini blinds missing, bathroom had an odd odor. Way too many extra charges for little things that should be complimentary. For example, $2 for extra coffee in the room. Just raise the price a little and make these things complimentary, it would sure be a better marketing strategy than to "nickle-dime" the guest to death.
The massage team was wonderful, professional, gentle, and likable. The continental breckfast was pretty good. The owner was very hard working and anxious to please. The grounds were very pleasing and made for a nice stroll or place to sit and read and relax.
No staff on site at all after 8:00 pm
Pool chairs were all broken (backs) There Was not a real restaurant. You could order food for your room but it was a $50 each person and was for your room only, not in the restaurant I was surprised this was rated four stars The innkeepers seemed bothered by our requests for things and werent that friendly
Room was very nice.
-had to track down owner every time I needed simple assistance. -very poor value for the money: outdated, dingy, cheesy, un-considered decor. Maybe once had a golden age... In the 80's. -blow dryer which I needed did not work -shower head was poor -open, personal patio space was cool, but completely ruined in the morning when gardeners were talking loudly and walking back in forth right in front if the slider which made me have to close out the much needed morning sunlight. Poor & annoying. Very little planning & conscientiousness for the hospitality business obviously. -$25 delivery charge (advertised only as being $2 for the and service in the in-room pamphlet) as such to walk 20 feet to deliver the "included" breakfast. -these people just want money. I'm sure they wirk very hard, but they need to do a lot more. This was absolutely NOT the cute, boutique, spa, b&b that it claims to be, again, maybe closer to 40 years ago... Now it's an obvious shadow of the passion that obviously built it. Unfortunate. And to think that I'm now paying the same amount I paid there for one night as I'm paying for 4 nights at a swanky 4 star in Berkeley. Leaves a bit of a dirty feeling in the mouth, and wound have spoken to the owner when I was asked how my night went, but wasn't interested in topping off my poor stay with an appalling confrontation by someone who was overworked and would have defended why he thought I was wrong or whatever out of denial. Anyway. Not happy.
-fireplace was a nice touch but that was about it
No 24 hour room service.
Maybe that the door could have had a shade to keep the room darker so we could have slept in later.
We enjoyed everything about this place. It is a very nice get away.
The villa is way over priced. The rooms are dated and the furnishings are old. The was no flow to the room and it was way over crowed with furniture. There's rust/spots on the bathroom walls and the towels are falling apart.
The ground are gorgeous and the location is remote! The spa tub was fantastic.
Bed and pillows very uncomfortable. Room was very hot and no A/C. 4 of the 6 loungers at the pool were broken so we couldn't use them properly. Housekeeping never replaced the toiletries (I guess just one set/visit). No coffee service in the morning. Breakfast was a glorified continental style and not enough was prepared. Would not return!
The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were spacious, however ... I would only give it a 3-star!
the owner did everything front desk, room service, chef, waiter etc, needs to hire some staff.
Very quiet, beautiful setting, lovingly attended gardens. The room was spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was scrumptious. The whole experience made us feel spoiled and wishing we could have stayed longer. We will return!
Very quiet and peaceful for our anniversary. We just loved it.
We paid $100 for the dogs. We were not told what the dogs would cost. Most places charge may $20-30 for the dogs, some places don't charge at all. It was a shock to us and now it may hinder our next stay.
We loved the place, it's charm, the owner was extremely busy and made time to chat with us.
Excelent service and friendly staff. The juniorsuite with the fireplace was very romantic. We arrived late at night, and had dinner served at our room. From the very large selektion of food, we had a perfect homemade pizza, and fruit/cheese platte with homebaked bread. Delicious.
there was dog hair on the couch, and the fabric on the couch and chairs were dirty and soiled and appeared very old and uncleaned for several years; the staff was very rude and unfriendly.
We enjoyed the quiet, and friendly hosts.
Spa services great
Tile floors throughout the villa. Breakfast was plentiful but could have had some hot foods such as scrambled eggs.
Sonoma Coast Villa and Spa has very picturesque grounds. The owner/bell captain/desk clerk/chef, Johanes, is very friendly and accommodating.
Dinner was extremely expensive (final bill for two was $161.00 U.S.)
Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful.
