Score from 25 reviews Exceptional
The staff is helpful and very pleasant. The restaurant upstairs is excellent. Breakfast is good. Hotel looks nice. Like free wi-fi.
Rooms are pretty and clean but horribly designed. Dimmest lighting of any hotel I've been in, and floors and rugs are black and dark brown. Cannot see a thing. Bath/shower is impossible, dangerous; a lawsuit waiting to happen. Beds have dark frame that juts way out; my wife and I have multiple bruises and shin gouges from running into it. Fire the interior decorator. This is a disgrace.
I was shocked that I had to pay for parking. This is unusual for the Kansas City Area. I would expect this for larger cities. I expressed my opinion with the front desk and they gave me parking for free. I also received 2 free drink vouchers. The only complaint I have is that the valet parking folks were drinking crazy. Just glad it was not my vehicle.
Give people the option of paying for parking when booking the room.
Loved the atmosphere. Lobby, dining, hotel rooms etc..
Location and hotel was great
Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was good. Room Service was was good. Bar on the 7th floor was nice with a great bar menu.
Front desk wasn't helpful. Had to pay for parking. No info in room about the facility or nearby area. Gym was too small with too little equipment.
Valet, awesome breakfast, excellent staff, fluffy huge towels, cleanluness
We enjoyed everything about Hotel Sorella!
Great design, very clean! Beds were extremely comfortable.
Nothing was bad per say. Rooms were a bit smaller than expected (when paying for above standard room). Staff was friendly, some were excellent and some okay. Overall was favorable experience.
Comfortable clean relaxing place to stay. Shuttle was nice.
Paying for parking.
Your entire staff was amazing, the most helpful, nicest I've ever encountered. Keep up the wonderful work.
The air conditioning unit in our room was placed directly above the thermostat so it was impossible to get an even temperature in the room. And the fan blew directly down onto the bed closest, not into the room. It was the strongest, loudest, coldest fan we've ever experienced, but there was no way to move the direction and the only option for the fan was on or auto. No off. Without the air conditioner the room was extremely hot.
Location was ideal. You can walk to the Plaza, and a short drive to downtown, Crown Plaza.
Continental breakfast is a perk, but very limited choices, and few seats available. I wish that Rosso served a hot breakfast upstairs.
Décor, comfort, staff, fabulous restaurant and bar.
Hotel Sorella has the look and feel of a very expensive hotel but for a much better price, very comparable in pricing to surrounding hotels. It had the perfect location for a girls weekend trip. It was so convenient for shopping and dining. The free car service within a 5 mile radius was an added bonus, but we ended up not using it because of the beautiful weather. Every staff member was welcoming and helpful! I've stayed at many hotels on the plaza, and hotel Sorella is by far my favorite. We'll definitely be back.
The shuttle service to sites within 5 miles made our visit to Kansas City efficient and leisurely.
Bed, Location, Shuttle Service, Staff Attentiveness & Courtesiness
Bathroom toilet and sink malfunctioned requiring us to relocate to another room which was acceptable but not as likeable as the original in terms of layout.
Especially Simone in the breakfast area. Makes you feel right at home.
Very clean and comfortable.
My husband and I went here for a short honeymoon. The staff looked at us and treated us like we weren't good enough to be there. I understand we are younger than most people there but I didn't expect to be treated so poorly.
Great location, very clean.
Sewer smell permeated lobby and open atrium on upper floors all day Saturday. Not pleasant.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ladies in the breakfast room were wonderful!!! The rooftop pool with a bartender that came out and attended to our needs was great. Very classy hotel.
Was blown away by the art and furnishings! We were there for the Justin Timberlake concert and the location was great!
Comfortable beds Amazing shower Within walking distance of Country Club plaza Great Bar Staff was polite, knowlegable, and friendly Valet parking worth the cost
There was a slight smell in the lobby on our second day there. Not sure if it was from the wedding reception in the ballroom or someone sprayed some really bad cologne. It was gone by morning.
The staff was very friendly (except for the staff working the breakfast room...ouch!) The room was very clean. The bathroom was a nice surprise -- a huge shower and also very clean. Our 2nd floor room overlooked a residential street...odd, to say the least...hello neighbor!
There was a strange smell in some parts of the hotel and lobby, especially when entering from the self-park garage. The elevator was very stinky (not a good first impression) and the hallway leading from the elevator to the lobby was also stinky. It smelled as if someone had sprayed the old-school gold can of Lysol everywhere. Lobby furniture is hilarious. It looks like huge adult diapers. I feel like they tried too hard to be hip and wound up being comical. No dressers in the rooms. Weird. Loud a/c.
The rooms were small but comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection. The location is excellent for walking to Country Club Plaza.
You are pay for high end accommodations and get something slightly better than average. The pool is very small and definitely not kid friendly. I watched the manager rip a staff member twice in front of guests. That should never NEVER happen!
Infinity rooftop pool with adjacent room with warm towels was a wonderful touch. The server at the bar came out to inquire if we'd like anything from the bar, that was awesome. It's just an overall classy hotel. Restaurant was 5-star in my book, from service, ambience, & quality of dishes. Loved the free European breakfast with bagels, lox, made to order cappuccino, etc...staff here welcome us and our 3-year-old as if we were family. Will definitely return in the future!
The option to valet or garage park was a bit confusing. But in the end, we went with Valet & will do it again in the future.
fantastic hotel for the price.
