Staff were very friendly
Bed not great. Bit noisy on madisonstrrt
The building was beautiful and we'll taken care of and the staff was very nice and helpful and went above and beyond to be helpful!
Couldn't connect to wifi from phones or tablet but laptop connected with no problems.
It is an elegant, quiet, old world hotel with all the amenities we could ask for. The staff was wonderful. Also, it was close to both Seattle University (where our two sons go to school) as well as the downtown and seafront areas of Seattle. We could walk everywhere. At night, if we didn't want to walk, we could take a quick taxi ride to a restaurant. Never slept better in any hotel.
The staff was exceptional. From the front entrance to room service. Very friendly and could not do enough to make my stay perfect.
The hotel was a little away from the main downtown and the rooms were very big and well appointed.
The service was poor - front desk and room service. The price of overnight parking - $38/night seemed very steep and the mini-bar wine was $22.
Our room was very small for a jr. suite.
Loved the coziness of the room, hotel and fireplace in the main lobby.
Would love a fireplace in the room
No Ice available on the floor. Mini-bar not stocked correctly, had to tell what items were missing, otherwise would have been charged. Rugs not vacumed thourghly. Ordered cheeseberger with bacon, no cheese on it, no attempt by waitress to correct the situation.
We love the history and luxurious surroundings. The staff was courteous, attentive and professional. The room was beautiful and a good value for the price. We loved he dinner and sitting in the fireside room prior to dinner. We enjoyed the nice details provided in the room such as coffee service, wireless, nice bath amenities.
We loved our room, but noticed a few details that were not commensurate we a luxury hotel. We could not get the heat to work in our room and we called downstairs, but did not get sufficient help. We were cold in our room. One of the window darkening shades was broken and had been fitted with a basic roller shade, which did not work well. The tub filler did not fill the tub quickly, so our idea of taking a luxurious soak, was unfulfilled.
Everyone at the Sorrento went above and beyond to make our holiday stay extra special. From the staff at the front desk accommodating my last minute decision to upgrade to a center suite to host family after our Christmas dinner in the Hunt Club, to the cleaning staff rushing to get our room ready for us and making everything just right. The room and view were gorgeous, and the bed was a dream. I hope to make The Sorrento a part of every holiday trip to Seattle, a Christmas tradition. It was a delight to treat our family to something so charming and magnificent, yet still casual and relaxing. Thank you Sorrento.
Internet is slow, but who needs it.
It smells "old"
The location to the city and the staff, and the historical aspect to the Hotel. While we did not eat there, we did have a drink and again the bar and staff were very nice.
The bed was not very comfortable and not having the ability to close the drapes kept the room too bright from the outside lights and day light. Also we could never get the WiFi to work.
The lounge and hotel entrance alone is worth admission. Nice touches with good coffee and treats set out every night. Clean place, helpful staff.
I looked at several but was looking for a suite. Sorrento suite was excellent, bed very comfortable, staff very polite and attentive. Allowed us to check out at 2pm as opposed to 12pm and was not an issue. 20 minute walk from Pike St Market or 5 minute taxi. Nothing to see or do in immediate area but worth coming back to in the evening.
Had a slight musky smell but not too unpleasant. The lady at reception desk wasn't welcoming on arrival nor cracked a smile. That did not affect our stay however.
We had a fabulous time at the Sorrento. The staff was wonderful both to us and our dog. The food in the restaurant was out of this world! Chef is an Artist. Only disappointed was that, even though we stayed in room 408, we didn't have any spectral visitors. Then again, that could have been because the bed was so comfortable it would have taken an air horn to wake us.
Great location, good bar/food, free car service and wifi, loved the extras!
Old, slow elevator (took the stairs); room smelled musty, old; bed not overly comfortable; could hear guests and bar clearly through the walls. Just needs a remodel.
the bed and linens were excellent overstuffed pillows. I love the idea that they changed the carpet in the elevator each day with the day of the week on the elevator carpet floor. The staff in the bar was excellent. On the concierge service was fantastic
the hotel is one of the oldest in Seattle and it showed a little of his age around the edges. I would recommend this to anyone going to Seattle
The Sorrento is different from the usual modern, identical, faceless hotels which is a good and bad thing. Good: it is interesting and a bit different Bad: misses the usual level of finish. Really depends on what you're looking for but without doubt the staff were excellent which made the stay worthwhile.
Great character and comfort...thank you to Jerry the doorman for his hospitality. Highly recommended.
The food at the Hunt Club was mediocre but the lounge was nice.
Characterful but unpretentious hotel
The old charm of the building is great if that's what you're looking for. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall a nice historic spot.
There were 2 things that people should consider at this hotel, it's next to the Hospital so you'll hear sirens constantly. Lastly, the charges for the valet service were outrageous after the price of the rooms. Parking was costly in the lot across the way as well, so we had to find street parking blocks away as there are only a couple spots near by.
Most of the facilities are wonderful but the noise tight is not that satisfactory.
very good service staff excellent good and cosy rooms
The staff was friendly, helpful and treated you like a long time friend.
Loved the personable, friendly people at the front desk, valet and restaurant. Thank you to all of them!
...that we didn't get to see the ghost! Ha ha!
