It smells "old"
The location to the city and the staff, and the historical aspect to the Hotel. While we did not eat there, we did have a drink and again the bar and staff were very nice.
The bed was not very comfortable and not having the ability to close the drapes kept the room too bright from the outside lights and day light. Also we could never get the WiFi to work.
The lounge and hotel entrance alone is worth admission. Nice touches with good coffee and treats set out every night. Clean place, helpful staff.
I looked at several but was looking for a suite. Sorrento suite was excellent, bed very comfortable, staff very polite and attentive. Allowed us to check out at 2pm as opposed to 12pm and was not an issue. 20 minute walk from Pike St Market or 5 minute taxi. Nothing to see or do in immediate area but worth coming back to in the evening.
Had a slight musky smell but not too unpleasant. The lady at reception desk wasn't welcoming on arrival nor cracked a smile. That did not affect our stay however.
We had a fabulous time at the Sorrento. The staff was wonderful both to us and our dog. The food in the restaurant was out of this world! Chef is an Artist. Only disappointed was that, even though we stayed in room 408, we didn't have any spectral visitors. Then again, that could have been because the bed was so comfortable it would have taken an air horn to wake us.
Great location, good bar/food, free car service and wifi, loved the extras!
Old, slow elevator (took the stairs); room smelled musty, old; bed not overly comfortable; could hear guests and bar clearly through the walls. Just needs a remodel.
the bed and linens were excellent overstuffed pillows. I love the idea that they changed the carpet in the elevator each day with the day of the week on the elevator carpet floor. The staff in the bar was excellent. On the concierge service was fantastic
the hotel is one of the oldest in Seattle and it showed a little of his age around the edges. I would recommend this to anyone going to Seattle
The Sorrento is different from the usual modern, identical, faceless hotels which is a good and bad thing. Good: it is interesting and a bit different Bad: misses the usual level of finish. Really depends on what you're looking for but without doubt the staff were excellent which made the stay worthwhile.
Great character and comfort...thank you to Jerry the doorman for his hospitality. Highly recommended.
The food at the Hunt Club was mediocre but the lounge was nice.
Characterful but unpretentious hotel
The old charm of the building is great if that's what you're looking for. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall a nice historic spot.
There were 2 things that people should consider at this hotel, it's next to the Hospital so you'll hear sirens constantly. Lastly, the charges for the valet service were outrageous after the price of the rooms. Parking was costly in the lot across the way as well, so we had to find street parking blocks away as there are only a couple spots near by.
Most of the facilities are wonderful but the noise tight is not that satisfactory.
very good service staff excellent good and cosy rooms
The staff was friendly, helpful and treated you like a long time friend.
Loved the personable, friendly people at the front desk, valet and restaurant. Thank you to all of them!
...that we didn't get to see the ghost! Ha ha!
Each encounter made with the Sorrento's staff was truly a delight! Always going above and beyond in all they could. Erick was one of the staff members who drove my fiance and I into town. He was very knowledgeable of the city and helpful all thought out our stay at Sorrento. On our way up to our room one night we ran into a maid who noticed I had bought some flowers from the market and quickly offered to bring me a vase to put them in. I was astonished at how fast she came to our door with a perfect sized vase for my flowers! Truly a plesent surprise!
All good here nothing bad to report :)
This hotel has character and elegance.
Street noise was loud.
Hotel has a feel of "old time" class. Great staff. Super helpful and friendly
A bit worn. Rooms could use some rehab. A free drink was offered. When we came back from dinner the lobby wasn't serving drinks so we went to the bar. Gave us our drink but told us to go to the lobby area to consume. Bar only had 4 people in it.
The efficient and kind service. The extra attentions (corks to get a complementary wine glass, the dog cookies and dog beer, together with food trays and couch, the milk and cookies from 7am to 10pm for the kids served within 15 min, the complementary internet, complementary fruits...). The location is stunning, rooms comfy and well equipped and beds really comfortable.
Parking at $39/night is a bit touchy... they should make a package deal with parking included to soften the blow. The service tax alone is already high (about 15%). But parking and free limo service within 2 miles is efficient and practical, if you don't want to jump in your car in avoiding to call a taxi when dining in town.
All in all the hotel was great. We were here for a wedding and it worked out to be Perfect location since it was about a block from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and always offered the courtsey car if we needed to go anywhere.
The price on booking.com (which included tax) was suppose to be roughly $210, however when we checked out the total price was $230. Other then booking.com lying to us, the place was great.
Old world charm. Very comfy beds...
Just wish we could stay longer
A remodeled pld fashion hotel Great stay good food great room and ambiance Great value for the price
The staff was a delight to deal with.
I've stayed in the holiday inn express for $400 cheaper. The "suite" was a joke. Never again
Close to VM. Made us feel comfortable and as stress-free as possible as we were worried about our father who was at VM. Great with my nieces who were with me. The feeling of coziness.
