Score from 315 reviews Excellent
Shower nozzle needs replacing.
Rude service Poor cleanliness Shabby Décor Staffing not to be found A true nightmare
The people who run the hotel were so nice, helpful, and very accomodating. The location was perfect for our purposes, which was an event at the St. Johns County Pier, which was within walking distance.
It felt a little cramped in the parking lot and the hallways, but I realize it is an older hotel. It was clean, so that made up for the other stuff.
Very quiet, very nice walk to the access/boardwalk to the beach, close to everything yet far enough away for privacy. Had requested an upper floor "king suite" and they were very accommodating. The building is old and you're certainly not getting a luxury resort, but it was clean, the covered parking area was a plus, and the staff was extremely nice and very helpful. Room size was excellent with the 2-person jacuzzi right there. I got what I paid for, which was a reasonably large, comfortable, clean, decent place to get away from it all. Would stay there again.
TV too small, outdated and too far away, not enough electrical outlets, the Wi-fi never worked in the room (although worked fine everywhere else on the property). Not impressed by the continental breakfast, but the coffee was fresh.
Proximity to beach, although it's a 1/2 mile trek on a boardwalk to get there. Staff was helpful and friendly. There was Wifi in the room.
Room was a little run down. No stopper in the tub. Old-fashioned TV.
Friendly staff,very clean,ok breakfast,pool,walk to beach access 1 block down,quiet,great price,covered parking
walkway to beach very far, better to drive to St Augustine pier up the road and early to get a parking space
Bed was comfortable
Room wasn't ready at 3pm as promise. Breakfast was very limited. Towels are very cheap and small. Air conditioner in room did cool room properly. Hallways are not air conditioned. It was a hot day for no a/c
We have been here before and we like the quiet, the cleanliness, and the nice owners. Not far from town but easy to get there and access to the beach.
The breakfast is poor. We don't even bother going down, some English muffins and cold cereal. Also just one luggage cart. It was in use when we needed it so we made several trips with our belongings .
There are many music, art, and food festivals in this area. The motel is a nice cheap venue to enjoy them all. With resteraunts and bars near by.
Because we live in Fl, we don't need beach access, but people who do not live in Fl would probaly want a setting closer to the water. note: the beach is within walking distance.
The office closed at 9:00pm so when my toddler got sick at 3:00am and I called the front desk the lady proceeded to tell me that housekeeping wasn't available and just hung up on me!!! So we had no clean sheets or towels at this point along with having to smell throw up all night because it was all over the floor!! The next morning was no different she told me that housekeeping had other rooms to tend to not just mine and we could wait!! So we had to contain my 18 month old to a queen sized bed until they found time for us!! Worst experience ever!!!
AC not cooling room sufficiently. Long walk to beach..but then again good exercise, so not a manor problem.
Location Within my budget Lots of pamphlets for tourist sights Close to beach accesd Owner quiet and pleasant, but not full of information Free parking and wifi
Thin towels Tang instead of real orange juice Minimal breakfast of English muffin, Cheerios and coffee Took forever to get hot water for shower Hallways hot and smelly
We had a wall that seperated the beds and a nice balcony where you could sit and watch or smoke.
It was a walking distance to the beach.About half mile walk. But good exercise though.
There for Sara B concert in amphitheater. So this is minutes to Anastasia SP, amphitheater, Butler Beach park. Has no direct beach access from property. Clean, well-kept, comfortable room & beds. Breakfast was cereal & muffins, may want to go elsewhere. For concerts, this is perfect for price.
Nothing. All was fine.
We liked everything room was clean staff was nice ac was cold. It was overall good.
poor water pressure..
Room smelled musty and moldy. The AC was very loud. TV was old box TX 25 inches inside a cabinet so far away you could not ready the words on the screen. The bed linen and towels were thread old and stained no thread count The water pressure in the shower was so low you had to come right under the shower head to use it. Not worth the money charged. Wish I could get my money back.
The Hotel was Extremly Clean, the people and staff were Very Nice and worked with me to Upgrade our room and we had such a Good Time and want to Return Soon! Thank You Ever Soooo Much, Henry and Sharen Hall
That I couldn't afford the room with the Hot Tub, maybe next time:)
Room seemed clean
At times water pressure was so low it only dribbled out of shower head, since there was no stopwe in tub either, only option was to wait until pressure came back. However water then went from hot to cold and lost pressure several times during shower. Continental breakfast was pitiful - only cereal or English muffin and coffee not worth trying. Goral haa no beach access - have to go down the road to find a place where you don't have to walk a mile to get to beach.
The breakfast is very poor and the staff not helpful.
This Hotel was not fancy but it was super clean. The reception was very nice the owners really wanted to make sure you had everything you needed.
Missed Danish for continental breakfast. But the coffee was good:)
Getting a real good deal at a Motel is usually a product of disaster. No so. Everthing was nice and the management was very curtious, clean room, clean pool, and no hassels. Thanks, we will stay again
The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, we love the spa rooms, the location is very close to the beach and just a few miles from old town and the cabs run on zone rate billing so a very reasonable should you want to go out safely .
It was very clean, for the price and it was well located for the beach.
All was very good.
The price was right.
When we first checked in, there was an awkward silence from our front desk clerk, but once my husband began to start a conversation she finally warmed up to us and she came across as being more friendly and welcoming. The first thing I noticed when opening the door to our room was the overwhelming smell of bleach. We immediately checked the bathroom and we think bleach was left in the toilet. So, we flushed the toilet, opened the window and turned on the A/C and bathroom fan in hopes that it would help to remove the odor and circulate fresh air. I began to get a piercing headache from the smell so we left our room for about three hours and left the window open thinking it would help before our return. Once we returned to our room the smell had improved a little bit, so we continued to leave the window open and A/C on throughout the night. Even into the next day, the chlorine smell was terrible! We thought about asking to change rooms, but we really needed a king size bed. We should have asked anyway. Once we turned down our covers to go to sleep, we noticed that one of the blankets had large holes in it. Our mattress was a bit too soft for our liking, but I concede that this may just be a personal preference issue. We did wake during the night several times to fight with our fitted sheet and mattress cover that was too small for the king size bed which bunched up the sheets and mattress pad beneath us. We chose this hotel over the internet because the price was excellent and because it said it was "beach side." We assumed we'd have to walk a short distance to the beach. However, we could only see the ocean in the distance on the horizon over the roof tops of of lots of homes in large neighborhoods that was between our third floor window and the beach. Because it was so far away, we decided to get in our car and ride down to the boardwalk that's advertised on their site instead of walk it our first trip out.
