The cleanliness of the facility, the classiness and helpfulness of the staff, the convenience of the location to the "hub" of SF, and the diversity of guests at HSF are all noteworthy.

The miniscule size of my third-floor room limited my enjoyment of the hotel generally, but other pluses almost made up for this deficit.

The beauty of the hotel, wonderful beds, the restaurant is delicious, the bar has the best margarita, and great staff.

The bathroom was teeny tiny and the shower curtain leaked all over the tiny floor no matter how we tried to fix it.

Coffee on the veranda in the morning. Drinks on the veranda in the late afternoon. Proximity to the Plaza, great food and museums was good for walking.

Noisy, persistent water leak in the shower/tub that was not attended to after mentioning it 3 times to various hotel staff.

Loved the location and ambiance of historic hotel in center of town.

The smaller rooms had minimal space for luggage. Window view into a loud space where garbage trucks did there work. However the worst was probably the shower in a vintage tub, which had two curtains that clung as we each tried to take a basic shower. No ventilation or window to open and there water on floor no matter how we tried to avoid this. May be ok hotel if you choose a larger room with better facilities. But the queen rooms were not pleasant or a good value.

Quiet room on 1st floor, lobby and outside sitting area. Location. Validation for parking in city lot across street.

Would like to have coffee in the lobby in the morning. Would like to have improved lighting for reading in room and in bathroom.

Almost everything except the room. liked the patio area.

Our room # 105. It was very small, no table or bench to open up our luggage, bathroom small with very little space for toiletries, no amenities such as ice bucket & no ice machine found. Only one chair.

Beds were comfortable. Location is perfect.

Minimalist decor is stark and uncomfortable feeling. Rooms are undersized and the bathroom was so tiny that it was necessary to step out of the room to dry yourself. No room service. No in room coffee maker. Hotel understaffed.

The hotel was very close to the plaza, just steps away from shopping, eating & site seeing. Nice out door wine bar, large patio to people watch. Large lobby with fire place, couches & fountain. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a queen room, very small. The sink was outside of the bathroom across from the bed.

Great boutique hotel in an excellent location within walking distance to the square, shops and galleries. Pet friendly. Hotel also has an excellent front veranda that is great for people watching and having a cocktail or two.

Architecture is fabulous, preservation of historical nature of property is well done.

If you have a security dept. what were they doing? Guests screaming and running up and down the stairs for exercise 6:00 a.m....hmmmm. No Coffee service in the a.m...really? No Coffee service in rooms. Parking at $11.00 plus tax. Hotel is not really restful, we did not sleep well there, just too noisy. Get rid of all the bums outside and across the street, you are not in San Francisco.
