Front desk staff was wonderful. Aerial was awesome and very helpful. Great location- easy to catch the trolley and close to shopping and dining.
NO DRINK OR ICE MACHINE ON OUR FLOOR. No drink machine to be found anywhere. Poor parking!!
Room was nice
Jon the desk manager was amazing. Professional and polite and a real help during our stay. Mcarthur our bellhop was also spot on. Courteous and helpful and was always available to assist us. Great staff and amazing hotel. Thanks
A lot of Character to the building, great location
Poor check in Non working elevator Poor check out
I like the courteous staff
Better beds, shower clean and free of mold and floor clean. Walked barefoot after shower and feet were black.
Location and valet
The outside of the building really needs some attention. I wad deceived by the picture advertised. One crescent is not what I consider a breakfast.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable
The free breakfast either doesn't arrive at all or is an hour late, the plumbing spits out black flecks, there are some maintenance challenges ( burnt light bulbs, plumbing fixtures).
great central location in a property that had the local ambiance. The beds were comfortable and the wifi was good.
problems with my credit card
Our room was next to the dryer so we could here the tumbling noise. But we were so tired we fell asleep anyway!
A smaller hotel with more personal attention. Lovely little courtyard, beautiful old style windows.
The breakfast is rather poor : tea/coffee + juice + crossiant Small rooms
Parking was atrocious we were there and left on fat Tuesday which I understand is crazy however they did not tell us that we would not be able to get our car from valet until late that afternoon. We had to get going so we could get airplane so we had a walk four blocks through Mardi Gras activities with their luggage we were rather annoyed and frustrated and it seem like nobody really cared. Only the bellhop offered to walk with us and help us everyone else set around and looked at us.
Bringing coffee and croissants to your room in the morning is a very nice touch
Far more awful events occurred than I can fit into two or three sentences. Here's the highest of highlights: Housekeeping never came during any of the three nights we stayed. Not even once. At check out, they gave us no choice but to walk in 35 degree weather across the city, with arms full of luggage, to retrieve our car from "valet" because of the parades. Never warned or tried to accommodate otherwise about the potential valet issue. Parades aren't a new thing. Received complimentary breakfast only one of three days. And the rudeness. Wow.
My only complaint would be that the elevator is extremely slow.
We were able to check in early with no notice, the staff was extremely accommodating (I left the breakfast card on the door at 2 am when the cutoff was 10:30 and they were on point with our warm croissants the next morning!), the room was huge, the bed comfortable, they arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport, watched our bags while we went out, the cleaning staff let me in twice when I locked myself out (we checked out late as well)! They took care of our every whim and were super nice about it.
The bathtub/shower combination was very slippery. Had to be extra careful not to fall getting in and out.
Liked the rooms with a separate living space made it feel like home. This hotel has character and is far from a cookie cutter like hotel. The morning coffee and crescent was a nice touch. Staff was friendly.
We arrived at St. James after running a marathon. We just wanted a hot shower and the water did not get any warmer then room temperature!!
The breakfasts were reheated cousants which weren't very good. Monday they were fresh and that was good.
Pathway to rear bldg
Nice old world setting Charming
Breakfast could have been better.
We liked this littel hotel on Magazine str..with walking distance to main attractions. Very nice and silent room, comfortable beds and excellent staff.
The couple above were very noisy, could hear their footsteps every time they walked across their room which seem to be constantly.
The room was clean and attractive. The amenities were as stated.
Pillows are super hard. We like big squishy pillows and these were the polar opposite. Also, some grout cleaning in the bathroom wouldn't hurt. Our room was directly behind the elevator and we could hear constant "ding-ing" all night long.
The location is excellent. Walking distance to the French Quarter without being too close to the madness. No street noise from our 4th floor room and we couldn't hear neighbors either. Free breakfast was a lovely touch.
Staff attitude and lack of urgency
Good for one night
I valet my new 2015 Acura tlx and when I checked out the next day the front passenger rim had three scuff/scratch marks on it. The hotel said that it wasn't responsible for any damage or theft to the vehicle. Dont valet park your car with them!
