Hotel St. James  

The location was the only good thing about this place.

There were bed bugs in our bed, no place to open the suitcase apart from on the bed. Chunky useless furniture. Elevator walls were covered in blankets. Shower with no hot water. No help whatsoever from reception when asked to book a taxi cause we had heavy luggage to carry. We booked a room with 2 beds with a view and was given a room with one queen bed with a view of someone else's toilet which we had a disturbing view in the morning of him using it. Would not recommend it to someone I hate yet alone a friend or family member.

I appreciate that NYC hotels are expensive but this place was hideous given the price.

the room was ok spacious and very clean .The staff most of them are very friendly .the lobby is very nice and the location excellent.I will definitly come back to this hotel.

the elevator is not clean and very old .Many areas of the hotel are very old and I was able to hear from the room next to me as it has a door conected with the other room.this is something that need to be fixed .It is unconfortable to hear other people talking.when I was in my room

Location location location and price. Considering we were in times square the price was very good . You are about 5 mins away from times square and can easily get access to other parts of the city. Their was large lockers for you to put luggage in if you had a late flight

It was little noisy but considering we were in times square it was expected. Also took a while for hot water to come on in the shower

Go to this hotel for the location, not for fancy linens and furnishings. Some carpets were torn and our rooms floor had unexpected dips, but you can't beat the location.

Dingy halls and carpeting, no clock in room, pricey for the location only.

The staff was wonderful, liked that it is a nice old building in the heart of the city

Courteous staff and friendly faces. Everyone was courteous but Joey was especially kind and courteous, a great addition to your staff!

Deli next store had really terrible food!

The location is really excellent!!! You can visit NYC, come back and have a rest for few minutes, visit Times Square every night

You should take your shower at night because in the morning, water is not so hot

Convenient to everything in theater district -- theaters, restaurants, transportation to go around city. Rooms were clean and functional. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Helpful staff, very fast reply to request for assistance. Room was spare, but clean and well kept up.We had everything we needed at a price we could afford. Location was perfect for our trip.

Hallway rugs were worn down with old tile showing at seams and quilts on elevator walls made it seem like we were in service elevators. Cots behind bar in back lobby was tacky.

Loved Loved the location and size of the room! The larger room had enough space for our family of 5.

The beds were very hard. It was as if we were sleeping on concrete!

Great location. No frills but for the money you can't beat it.

The staff was very helpful. Room was good size for one person. The location, one block from Times Square area, theaters and subway entrances.

Not hotels fault, but the street work overnight was a bit too much.
