Very nicely renovated hotel with a great staff. Could not have asked for a more polite staff. Perfect location and good room pricing including a really good real breakfast each morning. 50 feet from Bourbon Street.

Nothing not to like about the Mazarin.

All of the staff were friendly and helpful, from the door, the desk and the restaurant during breakfast. The breakfast was great and convenient. The hotel was quiet, totally silenced from nearby Bourban Street.

My husband and I loved the location of the hotel. it wasn't on Bourbon st. However we were walking distance . Our room had a balcony so we were able sit and enjoy the bourbon st madness from afar.

THE HOTEL DID HAVE A POOL on site and does not offer room service . Room had a small hint of mildew smell.

I loved the look of the hotel from the outside to the inside. It is steps away from Bourbon St but just far enough down that the noise doesn't keep you up all night. The staff was very friendly. The bellhop, valet and another girl (I wish I got her name) in particular. They were all very helpful on where to go and what to do. I have stayed in a couple of ritzy hotels and staff are not even close to what you get here.... you can tell they are just really good people.

Valet parking was a little high but I guess that's pretty typical for NOLA. I would valet again though next time we go!

I would highly recommend this hotel. The location in the French Quarter was walking distance to everything and the free full service breakfast in the courtyard was a nice perk.

Beautifully decorated with the French Cardinal Mazarin theme of rich colors and oil paintings. Clean cool black marble look tiles in room and relaxed but orderly inner courtyards

    The pillows were too dense

If the French Quarter is where you want to roam, Hotel Mazarin is a great temporary home. It is just a short walk from all the action and excitement, yet it in the evening, while most joints are still jumping, Hotel Mazarin offers welcoming courtyards and peaceful sleep. Our room access was from an exterior walkway that overlooked a private courtyard. We were impressed with the security measures of the location which were reasonable and reassuring without being intrusive. We like the tile floors that were always clean. After a long day and a warm shower, it was nice to wrap up in the bathrobes provided. The hotel provided bottled water at no charge, and even a full-sized umbrella - invaluable during hurricane season! The staff were all so friendly and pleasant, from the bellboy to the breakfast wait staff to the gal who cleaned our room. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We indulged daily and found ourselves nourished enough to walk all over nola before having to eat again late afternoon. When we decided to venture further, the concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I don't know that there was free Wi-Fi; I recall having difficulty accessing it. The tv was hard to figure out, and there were no free movies. I did not like having to traverse a staircase daily just to get to our room. There was no elevator access to our particular balcony/hallway, and we were not informed of this in advance. My husband has had two knee surgeries, and I am in physical therapy for my knee issues. This was an extreme disappointment, and I still feel that we should have been given advance notice of this more than minor "inconvenience" to decide whether it was acceptable in advance or not.

    Location

Aside from the location and the tiles floor, the hotel offers nothing extra or special. I took a hit shower the fire alarm went off and it took two phone calls and the maid to get someone up to turn it off. Room was small and crowded. Some of the staff were nice but some won't even lift their head up to help you

Great location, quiet at night even though close to the "hot" area. The beds are perfect and breakfast is served in the hotel's cosy courtyard.

Very nice rooms, well appointed, great hot breakfast, beautiful courtyard and great location

Not a dislike but neutral feelings on the courtesy and profesionalism of SOME staff, not all. Some could use re-training or polished a bit

Our room was small but very quiet. Breakfast was terrific. Hotel interior is beautiful.

Location too close to Bourbon Street. French Quarter is not what it was pre Katrina.

The room was large and comfortable. The shower was huge! Everything in the room was new and expensive looking. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! By eating breakfast at the hotel, we probably saved $25-$30 per day, at least. We were able to walk to all the sights from the hotel. The center court was beautiful.

Our room looked out over the center court. Although beautiful, it was also noisy, one night past 1:00 am. Every morning people were moving chairs around for breakfast and woke us up early. The room did not have enough storage for our clothes and toiletries. Most of the drawers were too shallow to put any of our things in them. There were really only three usable drawers. Only one shelf and no drawers in the bathroom.
