This towering historic landmark on Nob Hill features a top-floor restaurant with beautiful views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. Cable car stops are just outside the hotel.

Loved the upgrade to the great skyline view room on the top floor. The room was spacious, clean, modern. Felt pampered. Staff very friendly, helpful. Location very convenient.
Mattress was sagging so I woke with a back ache. Wife's side away from the window she said was fine. Street noise might be a problem (cable cars) for some folks but as I am from S.F. and lived on Nob Hill it didn't bother me.
Staff- why the jeans and grey shirts...trying too hard to be young/cool. When ringing hotel from external number or room, excessive # of rings before someone answers; happened at least 4 times. Lack of room service really not acceptable. You now cater to airline crews? What a departure from the days of a high class Nob Hill hotel. I was in airline industry for over 17 yrs....have stayed at a billion hotels.....catering to airline crews tells me your standards have been lowered. One evening I observed a client/guest at the front desk in what is termed a 'wife beater' t-shirt! Oh, my. The Old Stanford Court catered to a classier client. What a shame. Not sure I would stay again or recommend to someone else. I did love my room.
Everything was perfect. Great and friendly staff. Loved our room I just wish we had better pillows. Overall a great place
Location, Comfort, atmosphere, staff.
Too bad they don't have a full service restaurant
Muy cómodo, limpio y confortable.
Lástima que no tiene el desayuno incluido!
The Stanford Court is old San Francisco to me so I particularly liked an opportunity to visit the property. I requested an upgrade and my room had a lovely view of the bay. The bed linens were satiny and scrumptious. I also liked the ease of check-out.
On check-in I spent quite a bit of time at the registration desk making sure that my son's room charge would be charged to my credit card. When my son tried to check out, he was told his room had not been paid for. The process was awkward and uncomfortable for me.
Friendly staff, very clean & amazing view of downtown San Francisco. Within walking distance of china town, Union square. Short taxi journey to fisherman a wharf
Very expensive valet parking which is the norm in San Fran but had to wait 40mins for car on checking out as very busy.
Close to both ends of Town. Walk down the hill cat
Walking up the hill. Lifts to far from rooms.
The staff was very friendly. Everything worked as planned. Very Clean and comfortable. Good vibe. It felt very safe.
It does not have a full service restaurante. Which is ok but it will be nice if they had one.
Location Staff Room size
Rate was but higher than I expected No room service was a big negative
Wireless Internet Nice location (area) Clean Helpful staff
You have a very nice hotel, but stop trying to be hip. Or, as you would say, st0p tryin 2 b hip. You play Metallica in the elevator, you're never going to be hip.
Lots of poor attention to details: alarm clock went off in the middle of the nite --- twice! Restaurant was overpriced order-counter style with a grumpy counter person, silly shower control tries too hard to be "cool" but ends up burning you, "cool" branding throughout is annoying
LOVED its location to everything. Having the cable car stops right in front was just convenient. The staff was great and the valet service was awesome!! My fiancé and I both agree that this will be our go to hotel from now on! He loved the music in the elevators too (Green Day, Metalica).
The room was great and spacious, designed beautifully, the bed comfortable.
There was nothing to dislike.
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Our room had a great view of the bay and city...and it was at a cable car stop.
Location Price we paid Staff Room size View
Food service pretty bare bones. Bottom sheets don't fit the extra deep mattresses, came untucked. Unplug the in room clock, it is too bright at night .
Downstairs area. Doorman was very pleasant and attentive. Heated towel rack. Comfortable bed. Wifi
Overall lack of attention to detail. Cost cutting measures such as the empty minibar, robes available only if requested. Having to call room service twice to get robes that were old and worn. No one to carry my bag to my room.
The Location which cannot change.
In order of importance: First, the room which we had been offered had a significant smoking smell. Second, the second room which we were offered, said to be the same, was both not a suite and did not have a king sized bed. Third, we were not told that we had a second reservation. As a result, our son stayed elsewhere, causing serious issues. Fourth, we could not print an email which I needed to prepare for the wedding that we were in San Francisco for. Apparently, the hotel system was problematic. Fifth, we tried to get coffee delivered to our room at three in the afternoon. Apparently, there is no room service. Sixth, we had invited friends to the hotel restaurant, Fournou. This had been closed and there was no restaurant alternative for breakfast. Essentially, the management has created a Holiday Inn environment on Nob Hill. This is foolish. Finally, while no one ever told us, we had a second reservation which our son could have used. Sadly, this was not made apparent when we checked in and he stayed a mile away. Perhaps much of this was a result of the World Series which cannot be predicted. Still, I would strongly recommend against staying at the Stanford Court. For history, my wife and I have stayed there since the 1970's.
Did not get requested morning wake up call. Lucky I also set the alarm on my phone.
Exactly 4 star hotel, great room and bath. Nice views.
It was noizy all nights because of cable cars. Can't say anything about breakfast quality but would prefer it is included in the room rate
Best spot for staying in the heart of SF
The noise of the trams
good location - next to SF train station and to Union square.
small room, for the first day my laundry left was not taken away. Do not breakfast in the hotel - the price is rather high, but the taste is not so good. like everywhere in SF an extremely expensive parking for 58 $ per night!
