Score from 461 reviews Very good
The clean historical feel to the place.
Nice rooms, nice beds, perfect wifi.
Truly awful concierge--his answer to questions was to advise us to use google. Also gave terrible directions to a restaurant. We actually never made it there because he sent us off the wrong way. That was after waiting for him to finish his lengthy personal conversation with another employee. Front end staff was brutal. Bell staff frequently not there. Staff often smoking by entrance to hotel. Overall, it seemed there was a total lack of management.
good position good service quite clean very comfortable
Beautiful clean and spacious rooms...Staff was extremely courteous and helpful.
Inability to WALK to centers of commerce. Street surfaces and steep slants were prohibitive for this 70 year old.
Room decor Friendliness of staff Central location (but at the top of Nob Hill)
Expensive (it was the half marathon though which may have increased the price) Shower height could not be adjusted so was too low.
- location - prices - interior
- did not manage to connect to wifi through Android device though through Linux and iOS everything was ok. - thin walls. guys in the next room were parting all night
The place is gorgeous. When checking in the front desk was so nice we told him it was a birthday and he gave us complimentary wine.
The shower had bad water pressure and ice machine is only on first floor
Fair value, good location and a great view. Nice bar and breakfast was excellent.
To pay US$2100+ for 4 nights, and to have to put up with a very weak shower stream, and slow to drain bathtub, no drinks in the mini-bar (it was empty) is not a recommendable experience.
The staff was great and although there wasn't a restaurant on the property , the bar served food and it was very good ! Also the fitness center had a good selection of workout equipment. Our room was very comfortable and clean.
Location Room size Comfortable bed
Air con a bit noisy Shower weak Decor a bit tired
The full package
Very good location, excellent stuff, very nice and clean room, good wifi.
Just a little bit of noise from the cable cars outside. If you want to sleep longer in the morning, the noise my prevent you from it. Breakfast was in the means of buying tea, sandwiches etc. downstairs like in a little take away style. Missing the classic hotel breakfast.
Fantastic hotel. Great location and amazing view of SF business center with skyscrapers. Right one block from Chinatown and right next to light railway
Price could be lower, but this is my opinion for the room for one person,
for the money I expect more. Room was noisy and basic for what we paid.
Nothing actually left and went to a different hotel
Good meals tho expensive. Good location.
Location Cleanliness Space of room
at check out the young lady at reception was less than helpful. everyone else was exceptional.
Nice location, nice personnel, quiet hotel.
Breakfast is not to recommend, very expensive for what it is.
Lack of a restuarant at the hotel
We loved our room ..staff very helpful
Not as central to restaurants as I would have liked but close to public transport
Good view and could walk to many places.
Very noisy. Thin windows.
Excellent location. Close to China Town and Union Square. Trolley cars stop nearby.
Very noisy. Had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Everything was old, so a few outlets didn't work, shower was very short and had very little water pressure. Counter tops were sticky, and a few of the towels had obviously been left from the previous guest because they were still wet. No in-room services. Elevators were out of service and there are no stairs leading to the lobby.
