See above. Also staff very nice and helpful. Appreciated very much the free parking and breakfast.
Grounds way overgrown. Plants need a good thining out - cleaned up a bit. Did not want to be outside because it was unappealing.
Free Wifi Friendly staff Laminate/wood floors (no carpet) Cable/flat screen tv Garden Pool Nice, Complimentary toiletries
Very thin walls Noisy neighbors
I loved the atmosphere of this hotel. It was a wonderful retreat from the stress of every day. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. It is located in the heart of the city but it is so peaceful. I have recommended it to several of my friends.
Tranquil atmosphere Room quality is better than expected
Price was on the high side; stayed here last year w/much better value. Most likely will not stay again.
The breakfast was amazing, and I loved the courtyard garden spaces. They were perfect to lounge in the summer night.
Quiet location with beautiful flowers and nice staff
The place is expensive
The location next to the University Campus was convenient
The hotel has the look and feel of a garden center. At this price I was strongly disappointed by the atmosphere.
Parking was convenient to my room. Nice to have breakfast in the lobby included in price.
Too many plants and I like plants! In this case less would be more. But if you're doing it to clean the air then that's ok.
We loved the plants, the room, the pool and the breakfast was exceptional. We were also impressed by the underground parking facilities, also adorned with plants
much bigger than those in SF with same price level lots of plants and a beautiful swimming pool quiet free parking
wifi is not stable
Fauna everywhere. Decent breakfast selection. Proximity to Stanford University and Palo Alto. Secure parking included. Spacious room. Mostly serene.
My particular room was one of the few with no daylight - so it was relatively dark. Heard some footfall from the room above. Price was very high, as were all rooms in the Palo Alto area during the week after graduation. Items available in room were pretty pricey.
Too much plant by the elevator
The location was OK - next to Stanford University, but not quite downtown Palo Alto.
WiFi was useless – there was a signal but almost always no Internet connection. Every day I packed my gear and went to Starbuck's for several hours to get my work done. I left some (small) items behind, and they refused to send them to me – until I bought a UPS label on-line and emailed it to them. It took me a month to get my things back. (Actually, they have still not arrived! but reportedly they are on the way.) The room was dark -- no exterior windows! (Except facing onto a very public walkway.) It was like living in a cave. When I noticed that about the first room, I pointed it out, and they gave me another room which was identical (just above the first room) – dark, cavelike and a very unattractive place to be. Then I left a couple of items behind and they refused to expend *any* effort to send them to me (after I had spent $2000 at the hotel!). "That's just our policy." I had to buy the UPS label and email it to them, and request the UPS pickup. I will say that the lady who finally printed the UPS label and boxed & sent the items was very nice, so this is not a slight against the staff. (But I have not yet received the items, so we shall see....) I will never go to this hotel again.
Location, about as close as possible to Stanford with free campus buses about 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast is very good, wide choice including fruit and eggs. Plants everywhere which disguise what would otherwise be a very bland motel layout. Rooms are spacious and quiet.
The cost is outrageously high, presumably because of the location. A reasonable motel charging 5 star luxury prices.
The staff that was at the breakfast was rude and started closing down the breakfast an hour before the posted closing time.
location, WiFi, room size and cleanness
Strong mold smell in the room; probably comes from all the plants - looks like home depot garden center :)
Nothing. It was a dump and a trap to keep your money with a 72 hour cancellation policy.
It looked like an overgrown unkept plant nursery. It was filthy and nothing more than a trap to keep your money with a 72 hour cancellation fee.
Cost. Has increased greatly in past few years
- small size, friendly staff, closeness to Stanford.
Staff confusing; Room service poor; not a good cost/ benefit
The room size was wonderful. Mom sharing with dad and two teenage boys enjoyed the extra space. The bathroom setup was nice since there were two sinks (one in shower area and one in a dressing area). We had a room with double queen beds. The breakfast was perfect. The waffles are great. Always had parking in the garage available.
The beautiful plants an flowers.
Near Stanford campus. Great breakfast. Big rooms.
Inundated with plants. Too much of a good thing. Repair work in the evening when time to relax! Most of TV channels not working.
the spaciousness of the room was a definite plus.
the only downside is that the elevator is very very small and hard to get a standard wheel chair and one other adult inside.
