Window on the wall no sunlight
deposit for room, unheard of in all my years staying at hotels
the Stanford Hotel is exactly what a value hotel should be. Though the rooms are quite small and the view maybe a brick wall but the room is clean, the building is warm, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom was brand new. Don't bring your wife here on a romantic date or expect to spend a lot of time in the room but if just need a bed for a business trip or you plan on being a tourist all day and night, the Stanford is in a great location.
the only issue I had was that the wireless internet did not work from the room it may have been the specific location I was in or maybe all wifi only works from the lobby.
- Clean - Friendly and good service - Nearby Subway and Penn station - Really recommend this hotel
- Small rooms - Breakfast included but could be better
Noisy room (heat system) and need to wait a long time before getting warm water in the shower. Poor breakfast!
The location is perfect to get around New York. Central and convenient, perfect hotel to be able to reach all parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Clean and comfortable.
There was a lack of available and easy to reach plug sockets, no kettle, and the fridge in our room was incredibly noisy.
Location near Madison Square Garden
Room was incredibly noisy and heating was very uneven- half the room was very cold the other half burning hot. Bathroom was like an icebox.
Unclean carpet stains
Nice staff, room recently renovated and clean. Highly recommended.
Location and service
Great value for money. Cousy lounge to relax, coffee and tea served whole day.
Comfort bed, fridge in the room, good location, good free wifi, complimentary breakfast (mainly bagels) with good coffee and juice (no added sugar), nice 2nd floor lobby.
Comfortable... Good staff... All friendly
I really felt at home there. Everyone was friendly and it was a cozy atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay. Would def. Stay again.
The only neg. Was we had the heat up high and it was still cold in the rooms. Esp the bathroom after a shower.
Great location, 10 min walk to Times Square, subway on the corner, 2 mins from Macy's, on same block as Empire Stare Building,10 mins from Madison Square Garden and Penn station. Hotel is clean, free wifi that actually works, free coffee and tea in the bar and staff are very nice and helpful.
The only downside is the hotel charge $30 per night deposit when you check in which is not mentioned anywhere when booking, we were paying cash and barely had enough on us
The location of this hotel was fantastic. Its right next to the yellow line which enables you easily travel between uptown and downtown. Easy walking distance from Penn Station is also a plus. The staff were helpful and allowed us to leave our luggage on the day we checked out until we departed NYC. For the location, the price and the ease of checking in an out, this is a GREAT value hotel if you're looking for somewhere to drop your bags and sleep.
The carpet probably needs an update and the shower wasn't super clean. The fridge hadn't been cleaned out.
the staff is very helpful. it's the best location in Manhattan. people are complaining about breakfast, but it's complimentary - so why are you complaining about? and also, you are in NYC- do breakfast in a good cafe'. definitely will return.
the elevator is slow, so be patient
Nice hotel for the price and ideal location for Penn station to get to and from airport and subway station at the end of the street.twin room warm an comfortable all the amenities you will need.
Breakfast could be better it's OK you need a better choice.
Close to shopping areas, metro and city center.
Korea town there are a lot of restaurant and also garbages in the road. A little dirty street...:(
The location is in the heart of the action, just off Herald Square, so very convenient for everything the city has to offer.
The hotel is very jaded and that includes a lot of the staff who are mainly Korean (this being west 32nd Street, Korea Way). The overall effect is tired and we had a 6th floor room and I spent a great deal of time waiting for the inadequate elevator. We also didn't get the rooms we asked for (booking.com) and the front desk would not rectify this. We visit NYC regularly and in the past I have always booked our hotel. On this occasion my wife booked it as she thought it looked ok and good value. It was neither, in my opinion it had the facilities more akin to a hostel, try the breakfast 'facilities'. My most annoying experience? Going to their cocktail bar on Christmas Day to ask for 4 champagne glasses for our room. My request was met with incredulity from the barman "What? You want us to LEND you glasses? We don't do that!" I have made this request in many hotels in NYC and around the world and never experienced this before. We had a great Christmas in New York though, despite the hotel.
Location. Friendly staff.
Breakfast very basic.
Location was good, near everything we needed to get to and the price was good, bathroom was nice.
Beds were small and low quality pillows, and terrible temperature control with thermostat. Room got hot, and AC did not work. Slept in 80 degree room and hotels way of fixing was opening the window all day to cool down room for second night, except the exact same thing happened again. Got almost zero sleep while here sweating the entire time.
- Toplage, nähe PennStation, Broadway und Empire State Building.
- Frühstück nicht so toll, aber da ist man in Deutschland verwöhnt
