the facility on 2nd floor where guests could catch upwith emails and get a hot or cold drink was great especially in the cold weather
The location is very good Staff very helpfull
As per prevoius reviews about this hotel... The breakfast are is a problem, it is located through a door from the hotel lobby and conected to a seperate business. The staff were miserable/que's could be long and the room was not big enough to accomodate this...choice limited ( that wasnt to much of a problem for us) the biggest 'moan' is that if you wanted to take your 'breakfast' to your room they would charge $10 ( though they did allow coffee to be taken out of the breakfast room) Aslo, ( as per prevoius reviews) the lift was a problem, before arriving i didnt think it would bother me but it was abit annoying when busy. The bigest complaint i have with this hotel is - on arrival we wnet through the booking and was told the price tghat we would be charged at the end of our stay( in us dollars inc all taxes) when we checked out there was another 'tax' that we wasnt on the booking instruction or that we were informed about on chekcing in.. therefroe the bill was more than expected ( only another 2$ each but we knew nothing of this) 2) though we paid the hotel room bill in full on checkout - on arrival they used my debit car to secure payment ( fine) but it took 6 days after chekcout for the hotel to cancell the secure payment meaning that i could not access this money from my bank account ( over £1000.00!) grrrr
Stayed 5 nights at Hotel Stanford (1st visit to NYC) and loved it! Room was big enough for two & the bathroom was modern. Have read reviews about there being only 1 lift, but this was no problem as we were on 4th floor so could easily take the stairs. Breakfast was basic but great for a quick bite or juice before you head out for the day. Will be recommending this hotel for any of my friends or family who wish to travel to NYC for its price & location.
Bed wasn't overly comfortable.
The included breakfast was mediocre. But not bad -- just not as good as I've gotten used to.
Rooms and decor a little dated and needs a refresh
The location was perfect
The first image of the hotel wasn't good. The room was nice but there was small things that should have been fixed. Bleach stain on carpet, paint missing on ceiling, stained net curtains!!!
Free wifi!! Close to everything! Friendly and helpful staff! You get a lot for a good price
The breakfast was very simple and the bread/bagels could've been fresh.
Fantastic location - right near Macys, Penn Station (links to airports) and Chelsea. Staff are friendly and helpful.
You pay for what you get, this is not an expensive hotel, therefore it does not have all the nice stuff you'd expect in a top hotel. On the 7th floor I had no view out of my window. Room was quite small, even though I had been upgraded (for free) to a Queen room.
Very central, room was clean, bar has a great atmosphere, offers a free breakfast in the morning and free tea and coffee in the bar during the day
Room needed updating as carpet was very shabby and repairs were needed to the broken radiator cover and broken glass wardrobe door. Shower head only half worked
I liked the location, large room size and inclusion of breakfast. I was allowed to check out an hour late.
The hotel staff didn't make enough effort to keep vagrants away from the entrance - really creepy. Furniture is chipped and outdated. One elevator is insufficient for hotel and guest size.
Great location, just off Broadway. Clean, comfortable room. Very helpful staff.
The room was a little small for more than a one night stay.
internet was giving me trouble the lady at the desk said its complimentary only for emails and stuff, but they should have mentioned it cause i needed to finish some things for work and it kept being slow and shutting down. when i choose my hotels wifi is a big issue.
Elevator not working
I loved the location of the hotel, so convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a good size for a city hotel.
There is only one lift so often had to use the stairs and we were on the 6th floor. Everything looks tired and dated, hotel could do with refurbishment. Only tried breakfast one morning and the croissants were stale.
The hotel was in a most excellent location. A turn of the corner and you are at the main door of Macy's. A ten minute walk and u are in the heart of Times Square and the fabulous Fifth Ave. For Girls on a shopping trip this is perfect hotel.
The pillows have a lot to desire.
The location was superiour!
The poor breakfast!
It was centrally located yo where I needed to be, and only two blocks from the Garden.
I'm a non smoker, and another guest made a complaint that they smelled cigarette smoke from my room and we weren't even on the same floor.. The staff were convinced by this false accusations, and that is the one thing that ruined this peaceful experience. Needless to say I disputed the charges and I got my money back. SMH people will snitch on you, without actual proof of those actions.
The room was clean, the front desk staff was very polity and helpful. Wifi was free with very good signal. The location is excellent.
Breakfast could be better.
Location just in the heart of Manhattan. A lot of korean restaurants in the area. Quiet neighbors.Good for short individual stay. Comfortable bed.
Not very clean. Furniture, carpet on a floor, doors and air con - all look like a greetings from the early 90s
Beds just great after shopping all day ,ready to go the next morning, breakfast good would go back to Stanford hotel again Theresa ,Dublin Ireland .
Hotel location is good, it's easy to get there from the NYC Penn Station (two blocks away), so it is easy to get to the hotel coming from the Newark airport. Hotel is close to Macy's and there are a lot of restaurants and stores all around. Breakfast is ok. Staff is friendly. Room is ok, it was clean and it was comfortable.
Good location right in center center on the Korean street
Bed is very bad condition too old need replace with new
helpful staff-very clean-good location-all subways close-airport bus only 2 blocks away
only i elevator-sometimes a long wait
Location and convenience
Forced to upgrade from the first pre-reserved $309 closet-sized queen room with no window. We were told that no others were available until manager offered a better room for plus $40. The room faced a bright lighted video sign and had very noisy air cond.
