Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.
Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.
And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

there were some highlights - amazing parks and Rodeo Drive was a great visit (not to shop mind you - bit out of my price range!!) but what a beautiful street.
I found LA to be rather bedraggled, dirty and worn.
1 day & night would have sufficed rather than 2 nights - our 2 night stay included a 5.5 hour driven tour of the high spots

Always give yourself an extra 30 minutes to drive anywhere in LA!
The traffic can be busy at any time of the day but specifically from around 3pm into the night. We loved hiring a car and having the flexibility of driving and travelling around, you can find parking easily and we tried lots of food places so was easier to eat in the car if they didn't have seats available.
Food was great, we tried all the fast foods but mostly loved in and out! Kevin Hart's new vegan restaurant in Hollywood was amazing too.
If you're in LA and have a car, I'd recommend trying Easy Street Burgers. Best burgers in LA! and Brothers Cousins for Mexican street food, absolutely amazing!!!!
We stayed near Hollywood, about a 10 minute drive away. This was great because it was quieter and safer. So I'd recommend this too.
Disneyland is in Anaheim so we moved from Hollywood to Anaheim for part of the trip just for Disneyland as it's quite a drive to and from, plus the traffic is so busy.
Universal Studios is a MUST. They also offer Vallet parking for $70usd from memory and this was absolutely worth it. Didn't have to find parking and walk far which was great at the end of the day when you're exhausted.
LOVED LOS ANGELES. We will ABSOLUTELY be back!! :D

I did not stay at this Hotel.
I did not stay at this Hotel. I had booked it for my son and his wife. My son wallet was stolen and he could not show ID and management did not let him and his wife. However I was still charged for the room! Horrible policies!

Los Angeles is a very clean and beautiful city.
Los Angeles is a very clean and beautiful city. There are many types of trees and flowers and fruit is growing on the trees. The climate temperature was in the 60s during the day.- very comfortable outside - not too hot - not too cold. The people who live there are from all over the world, It is an international city. The people who live there are basically kind and fair. Children and colleges students get free bus transportation to school. They highly value education. There are many business service and fun adventures to have. You will see people skateboarding and generally peaceful. I experienced no racism or bigotry, my favorite spots were the streets walking around safely. I bought food from Superior Grocery Store cheaper than a restaurant on Vermont and Avenue. I was able to get to LAX Airport for $1 on public transportation. The Metro C train was free. The bus costs $1.00. it is easy to get around. Los Angeles has a Metro website online.
Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles is an outstanding establishment. Provided me with excellent customer service and support. Friendly atmosphere and staff was very professional and supportive with all request. Thanks for the genuine support in providing me with a great experience. I would like to recognize De’Kwon
Dorian, Brandon (Valet Parking) and Nashua who ensured I was taking care of the moment I checked into the hotel. Overall, very satisfied with the services. Will visit again Thank You.
The hotel itself is situation just a few miles for Los Angeles centre and can be easily reached by catching the No 4 bus which stops exactly outside of the hotel. The room is quite spacious and is generally very clean including the bathroom and toilet areas. The breakfast facility is situated in the same part as the reception area looking out to the main road and in general although comfortable the breakfast could be improved..all in all though this hotel is quite sufficient.
Our stay at the Ramada by Wyndham Hollywood was for 5 nights and the service provided was exceptional. The staff go out of their way to make sure you feel like family. The room we had was considered a standard size room but it was a lot larger than others costing more we had stayed in on our trip accross the USA. The hotel is very well located to all the best attractions in the area. Overall a great experience and again we thank the staff in particular Matt and Theo.
The food was absolutely delicious. Amazing bar, breakfast, lunch, etc. The pool area is so calm and relaxed it makes you never want to leave the hotel!!! The staff was so lovely, from the breakfast guy, Shane, to the lunch waitress, we had the best time just relaxing and didn't want to go anywhere else. We were there for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and it's totally walkable! The room was so great, comfortable beds, amazing shower, just perfect.
Close to USC. (The other guests I met at the house worked at USC or were students there.) The room was huge and I loved the private bathroom attached to the room. Showers were clean. Laundry use was extra, but was super convenient inside the house. Parking on the premises was $15 - much less than our last hotel we stayed at in Downtown LA. Bed was comfy and the linen was super soft! Best value for your buck in LA!
Staff are amazing, Kevin made me feel very welcome and gave me a tour of the place and made sure I had everything I needed. The pods are great quite spacious and they come with their own air conditioning and tv it’s just like a hotel room if not better. Very cheap to stay in and the location is quite good only a 10 minute walk from the main buses and trains into downtown and Santa Monica.
Nestled in the neighborhood of West Downtown L.A., this hotel may be situated in a dingy and sketchy area, but I surprisingly felt safe throughout my stay. Despite the neighborhood's atmosphere, the hotel itself showcased a cool, modern vibe one would associate with a boutique hotel, although the lobby and elevator's heavy use of air freshener was a bit overkill.
The space was ideal for us and allowed us to return from busy days to a comfortable home from home. The parking which was included makes this a cheaper alternative to hotels. Ben and Ted were a pleasure to deal with. Great location, super close to everything. In our experience we felt completely safe in this area, and everyone was super friendly.
It was cheap and cheerful . It wasn’t too far from Venice beach - walkable and bus stop near by hotel .
The room was at the back and quiet .
The room was spacious.
Check in were friendly and helpful .
It was much better to stay here than at the airport hotel overnight .it was clean
Room was very clean and had a surprisingly comfortable bed. The location is outstanding, being a short walk from the Hollywood walk of fame and plenty of tour options nearby. There is a 10% discount at a nearby cafe for breakfast. The room was cheap for the area and felt secure.
There was no breakfast included in the price. When I was booking I was under the impression it was included. The hotel parking was very expensive. In the area we found much cheaper overnight parking for $25.00. Otherwise the hotel is clean and located right in downtown.
Pretty standard room, but with plenty of space, and large comfortable bed. Get's the job done for an airport hotel, I only wish there were more cheaper options around. Free shuttle showed up right on time in the morning to get me to a very early flight.
Proximity to Los Angeles Airport. You can even walk from the hotel to the airport. Free airport tranfer with amazing driver. Misplaced my phone in the and the security recovered it and kept till I return. It was fantastic stay all round.
It's a great location both for exploring Hollywood and accessing public transport to see other surrounding areas.
The view of the Los Angeles city scape from the upper floors are some of the best in the city
Great Host 😃 Benjamin Adams was truly amazing! He also provided Candy in the Common Area for Guests! He Keeps the House very clean! Very Friendly Environment. By Far Best Hostel in Los Angeles, California
Location is nice near the beach in downtown Venice. It is also one of the cheaper places to stay in the area. I had a private room which is good size and I found very comfortable
