Noisy A/C Wifi in lobby only- without Skype or Whatsapp comms. No Microwavein in room - required $10 to furnish one.
There are two places to stay inside Stone Mountain Park. Evergreen Resort is what you would expect from a Marriott conference hotel. The Stone Mountain Inn is not. But here's the thing..if you are at the park with your family, especially kids, this is the one I recommend. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance to all the attractions. Park your car and leave it. Also, the rooms are huge. We stayed in a room that could have easily had two king beds in it, plus the sleeper sofa. In the right mix, six people could stay in this room. Breakfast in the restaurant was good. Everything is clean and works, and the staff is Marriott.
The downside now --Marriott chose to use full size beds which seem amazingly small, especially in a room this big...or when you sleep in them. And really, let's get a new tv. This 25" tube is not watchable by today's standards. Also, and they can't fix this, the exterior corridors let you know this place is from an era gone by. But try to think that the age is part of the charm. It's expensive for what it is, but I go back to location and room size, and would stay here again, over the Evergreen.
No complaints all was very good. Staff and facilities were terrific. Will be back
Mattress, close to everything, great breakfast
small room-nothing like picture on internet
the golf corse restrant was good the top of stone mountain was good, other things closed, could not do,
being charged 33. dollars on top of bill for room and so far 10 days no refund, ,, on this charge that needs to be refund,, 15 persent tax was bad enough,, cant afford to stay there again, the add on to the room is money i could spend at places there, in the park, hope i get my refund, with out having to call them,
Location Bed was comfortable Front desk staff was efficient and friendly.
Room was a little small. Breakfast not included.
The surrounding area was amazing.
The room should be deep cleaned more often. My credit card charges didn't match what I was told or even my receipt!
Staff was excellent. The first room they put us in had 2 queen beds and we wanted a queen so they quickly fixed the issue. The breakfast buffet was excellent! And the mattress was like sleeping on a bed of clouds!
The only negative thing I could say is the actual park was not open. It was my first visit to Stone Mountain and wanted to enjoy some of the attractions like the duck ride. Since it was September, they were only open on weekends and we were there during the week. But again not the stone mountain inn's fault. The park website did not make it clear.
Great location, close to park. Breakfast was good, staff were very helpful & gave me a complimentary pass into stone mountain facilities.
Very old building, old style tv. Have to pay for wifi to have it in your room.
This hotel is right across the street from the carved side of the mountain and an easy walk to the skylift and the village area. Breakfast buffet was pretty good
All the rooms faced in toward the pool. Would have liked a mountain view.
The location of the inn was great. The property was beautiful with the flowers. I really liked the rocking chairs on the small patio area outside of our sliding glass door.
I knew when I booked the room there was no continental breakfast, be forewarned that the breakfast buffet is expensive. We did not eat there. Our room was very small, so if you book for two people and want a king sized room except your room to be small. There is a small coffee maker in the room so you can have coffee because you can't get a free cup in the inn's lobby. Just be sure that room service leaves enough creamer/sugar packets for your coffee. Check and make sure the laser show is still available. School starts early in Georgia and some activities stop.
The location is perfect in relationship to Stone Mountain. It is within walking distance of the attractions. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I like the proximity of the entryways to getting bags and coolers in and out of the car. The pool area is very nice and shaded.
There is no complimentary breakfast, and I was unable to locate any coffee in the lobby. Also, bear in mind that you are staying in the park, so other facilities such as convenience stores and such are not available. This is a small price to pay however.
Everything is perfect!!!
If you like old, dirty, unconfortable from the carpet to sheets to furiture then stay here.Bad to bad
Close to attractions at thats it, room would be better if you camped outside in the parking lot.
Loved staying right on the property and being able to walk to the laser show and other attractions.`Great value for the price!
We visited on a Thursday and have trouble finding something to eat or do late.
Room was very large and even had a ceiling fan. Excellent location across the street from Stone Mountain Park. We got there in time to see the laser show after we checked in. The grounds were beautiful and the pool area was really nice.
Mattresses weren't the best. We got a package that included breakfast for two, but if the others in our room wanted breakfast it would have cost $14 each.
Location was excellent
Room was not vented well and very stuffy and humid. Could have been cleaner in the corridor areas we walked.
close to every thing
That's it's right in the park
Rooms seem very dated.. Old tube tv....
Room need to update
Location Staff nice
AC too noisy Restaurant was closed Old hotel
Location. Ease of reservation. Dining recommendation made by front desk person. refrigerator.
Not up to Marriott standards. TV remote couldn't be used to turn on TV. Ice machine didn't work. Desk in room too big for room.
Great breakfast and excellent value for the price we paid
We arrived on a March weekday and appeared to be the only other people there. The Inn is in prime location for the park and is very nice. The checkin desk staff was unpleasant. Commented on our online booking so they couldn't see what we paid for the room. Seemed irritated that we were there. We asked if anything was open and was told that the park is closed- with no hint of willingness to offer suggestions for our stay.
Hotel and all other restaurants in the park were closed. We found out after arriving that the park is only open partially during "off season". The day we were there we could only see the sky ride and the museum. The park grounds were open for hikes. We are glad this was a stopover and not a destination. Also very sad that this glorifies the confederacy and slavery- kind of embarrassed to be a part of it.
