The Staff makes you feel like a millionaire
This elegant Inn is liking stepping back in time to when life was classier, people were polite, and drinks evoked a sense of pleasant atmosphere.
no vending machines
Décor, food, staff
The dining room should be an intimate place. There was a Wine Dinner, which I did not attend and it appeared that the wine dinner was an excellent affair. Because of that, I sat in an adjoining atrium. Very close to me was a large group of women who I believe were on a corporate outing. They were EXTREMELY loud, shrill, and had NO thought to any one else's experience. As a result, my dinner was fairly ruined. It would be better of there was a separate dining room for private affairs.
The wait staff was very attentive, and took care of me very well indeed. The Mussel dish was spectacular. After dinner, I went to the bar which was much quieter and enjoyed a very well made Irish Coffee and fantastic conversation with several guests and employees. Chrissy was especially charming.
I wished it was a bit more "off the beaten path". It was a shame that you could hear the traffic from the main street from the pool/spa area.
It was a slight upgrade from a regular hotel. Everyone had an accent...nice European touch. The spa treatment was excellent and I would highly recommend Kelly and her skill.
Individual attention. Spa services with Suzy! Awesome! Friendly staff.
Staff in dininng room didnt seem to care how food tasted. Food in lounge was not that great, the calamari appetizer was cold and chewy, but drinks from bar was delicous, the bartender in the lounge was very helpful. When we checked out no one wanted to help us with our luggage, so we took care of it ourselves.
Bed was extremly comfortable. Bathroom had plenty room and shower large and comfortable. Chef was very informative.
The fact that the rooms clearly do not offer soundproofing of any degree and I was rudely awakened by the noisy, creaky floor of an innocent guest above me at 6:15 am. Since I chose this hotel for its tranquil setting and specifically went away for a night for a quiet nights sleep away from kids, I am very disappointed.
The location and the dreamy bed.
Everyone was so helpful and friendly!!!
Staff was a little "off" but didn't diminish our stay
Manager found out friends were visiting me for my birthday for dinner and I am a prof psychic and tarot reader so she refused to let me read their cards in the lounge. There were approx. 15 people for dinner in the restaurant at 7 pm and no one at in the bar/lounge. Manager said I would have to rent a room for $100 just so there would not be any complaints. One of my friends showed up so I read her in my room. The food was disgusting and we had to wait and wait and wait to get burned and chewy overpriced food. Awful experience and very expense.
Room was comfortable
My coffee at breakfast was cold and so was the toast. We had dinner in the Left bank restaurant, we were seated at the window and it was really cold. Service in the restaurant was slow for breakfast and dinner. Wait staff were usually friendly but one waiter in particular was just rude. There seemed to be some lack of communication in the restaurant as we had to ask for the same thing maybe 2 -3 times before we got the bread, extra water etc. Cheese plate was very ordinary / bland. Not as rich a variety or international as it had been, when served on previous stays. Had a massage and the treatment room was cold. The pool was beautiful but no towels .... we had to stay in th ewater for much longer than we wanted .....waiting for towels.
The pool was beautiful. Water temperature was perfect. Beds were very very comfortable. Rooms were a wonderful size but also a little cold. This is my third stay at Stonehedge but I don't think I will be back ..... just too many disappointments!
There is nothing bad to say. The only thing they could change is to upgrade to a key card system instead of giving out the one key attached to a one pound wooden weight. Its quaint but inconvenient.
Very comfortable, very friendly and efficient international staff, wonderful massage services, wonderful food. I wanted to bring the bed and tub home with me.
