Bedroom was one of the high end rooms in main house. The heater in the room was noisy and banging off and on as it provided heat. The room was very dark, poor lighting, carpet was stained.
Location is great and hotel is historic with interesting photos in hallways of inn.
No heat in the room and below 0 degrees outside.
Decor of room lovely and comfortable bed
everything about this stay was bad. Well, except for the 2 free glasses of wine we received at the cozy bar while we waited for over 2 hours to check into our room!!! The only person there upon our arrival was the housekeeping woman who was extremely nice and apologetic. There was nothing she could do to help with check in since the desk person was called away on an emergency. She was left, helpless, to explain to us and everyone else as they arrived that there was no one to check us in. Dinner was good, although we were told when we arrived that the restaurant was in fact, out of prime rib and something else I can't remember. This is a Saturday evening in the middle of a ski town in winter! This place was totally unprepared. The woman who graciously opened the bar for this somewhat angry crowd did an excellent job of smoothing ruffled feathers. Turns out she doesn't even work at the Stowe Inn, but was just helping out. You should hire her and give the housekeeper a raise!!!!! I won't bother to stay here again.
We arrived and the temperature of the room was freezing. Temp did not register on the thermostat. We were told to turn in the heat. All that blew out was cold air. The room was still under 60 degrees. They sent up maintenance and told us the heater was broken. Then another staff member told us the heat was working when the cold air was blowing and to give it more time. They eventually did buy us space heater ro use which helped. After about 3-4 hours of inconvenience they only offered me a 50 percent refund for the night. I think it should have been a full refund. They moved us the next night. I asked that when we moved could they make sure the heat was on in our room when we turned from being out skiing. When we got back from skiing the the heat was off and the room was under 60 degrees. The room did heat up but it took a couple hours. I think this would have been better handled to give us a full refund for the first night and the desk staff should have checked to be sure the heat was on in our new room. Both times the front desk blamed housekeeping for not turning on the heat. I felt she (front desk) was just as responsible.
Overall clean friendly and good location. Aside from the heat the rooms were nice.
Had front rm in main house. Road noise all night. Super 8 style rm heater was soo loud could not sleep. Was given portable which worked fine. Cont breakfeast not worth the time. Head to the harvest market on your way to the slopes for a real treat.
Location is great. Had deluxe king , rm was comfortable, shower was hot.
Whilst the room looked modern, the actual quality of the installations was second rate. The bathroom tiling looked like it had been done by Stevie Wonder and odd things needed attending to. We were amazed in this day and age that no fresh bread or rolls were available on the Sunday morning breakast. Part bake rolls have been available for years now.
The bathroom was not very clean (Toilet),only 2 wash clothes.very poor lighting in room. WiFi did not work, no in room coffee pot. Very poor restaurant.. The waitress let us order our meal, and then tells us there is no bread, we ask for crackers... Out!!! Promised the Chef was preparing breakfast in morning. We had a pastry.. No breakfast. Customers left, and went down the Street to eat. Our expense to stay here was not reflected in our overall experience. Will not return, but will visit Stowe again.
Location, and some furnishings ,and coziness of Lounge area.
Mouse in the room
GOOD LOCATION, NICE LITTLE TOWN, NICE PUB JUST DOWN THE ROAD FOR A DRINK AND A MEAL
Carriage house room, though very large, was in need of remodeling/updating..missing bathroom floor tile, mildewed grout in shower, for example. With three different paint colors in the main room, this was probably going on. Although the continental breakfast was appreciated, the location/set up was awkward, done hurriedly, and without nearby seating.
Beautiful location and main building. Manager greeting was appreciated.
Location, free continental breakfast, the restaurant loking at the river. walking distance to all restaurant and other conveniences.
Management is USELESS. No food on breakfast table, they had to go out and buy more bread and juice. No real apology, just excuses. Restaurant and bar closed throughout stay. Coach outside room with engine running at 6:00. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Location. Building is good, rooms reasonable size.
Room was not ready at 5pm. No tea or coffee in room or lobby (had to buy at bar). Tiny, old, TV. No fridge. Loud aircon. Nowhere to hang clothes in bathroom. No extractor. Poor parking. Poor soundproofing. Cheap detergent used for sheets caused severe skin rash. Old, tired. Need I go on?
Need to spend some money in bedroom new pillow , covered duvet , bed valence etc
Ordered a pasta dish and added chicken. Never got the chicken. The waiter tried to say it was the chefs fumble, but I think otherwise.
The room wasn't all that clean. Breakfast was not very organized. There was nothing but cereal out when we first got there.
I liked the location.
Front desk guy Charming inn Walk to town
Maid service was dismal. Barely straightened bed...did not empty waste baskets. No coffee/ tea apparatus in room. Hotel needs refurbishing (paint) and bathroom re-dos
Poor quality of furnishings- expected higher level given room rate. Poor lighting. Old bath
Location and appearance as a Bee Dngland building. Smooth check in
Parking lot unpaved
Friendly staff, nicely furnished room, great view from the breakfast area, beautiful old building, well furnished.
Very dark in the room.
Location, staff, and tavern were awesome
We stayed during a very busy fall weekend and although we expected to pay a premium price, we were definitely overcharged for the quality of the room we received. Our accommodations were in a building behind the main inn and the room was extremely outdated and run down.
Location was great.
Closeness to town and dining Close to Stowe Mountain
