The position was perfect as was the staff.
- Location - Facilities - Big rooms
- A/C was way too loud - Restaurant staff for continental breakfast was overwhelmed and disorganised
Rooms were big and comfortable. Good beds and pillows. Great location with easy walk to town centre. Helpful, friendly staff. Very good breakfast with lovely outlook. The restaurant served lovely food and the bar had a great atmosphere.
Not a thing spoiled our stay.
The parlor was delightful! I sincerely enjoyed the ambiance of the Inn. The old photos were amazing and they add such great character to the place. I loved the room! The bed board did hit the wall when I moved at night and I put a pillow behind the head board to keep it from happening. Everyone was welcoming and the place was totally lovely.
Disappointed; I thought the Inn would have had locally produced dairy products, bread, and peanut butter. I had always heard about Vermont's pride in locally grown and created products. Paper cups for coffee??? We paid for a room for three but only had a single small shampoo bottle and when I put the washcloth and hand towel on the floor in the morning- they were not replaced. I had to ask the front desk for a washcloth and hand towel in the morning but the desk person was unable to find any.
The location was great.
The inn needs updating in everything. Run down and tired. Totally overpriced for the level of accommodations.
they had cancelled our booking after we had traveled for 6 hours
within walking distance of alot. Staff was very friendly and nice.
We had no bath towels in our room when we checked in and when we told the front desk they said they would take care of it, we went out for dinner and came back several hours later and there were still no towels so we had to go down to the desk and get them and after them searching around they only gave me 2 towels.
Complementary continental breakfast Very nice and helpful staff
I had stayed at this inn 16 years ago and we had a beautiful room in the actual inn, in fact I do not think the motel/coach house part was built then. I booked a standard double on bookings.com looking forward to another beautiful room, how disappointed was I when I found that we were in the motel/coach house not the inn itself. The room was not very clean, it was run down with a very old rusty leaking air conditioner stuck in the window next to the front door. The bathroom was old and not particularly clean and there were plastic mattress covers under the sheets. I complained to the gentleman on the reception and explained that this was not what I thought I had booked. He said that I had booked the motel/coach house room however this was not stated on bookings.com. He was very nice and did try to move us to the main inn but it was full. My advise would be to book direct with the inn then you know exactly what room you are getting and where it is.
Beds from 1960,(slept on floor, it was more comfortable, mold in bath, door to bath that doesn't close, slow staff at bar, cold( supposed to be hot) breakfast, (we ate at the Green Mountain Inn)
The location was very convenient.
The room was dirty and there were bugs. I had to kill at least 20 bugs in the 18 hours that I was there.
I was disappointed with this accommodation. The price is too high for the room. I left two days early and lost money on this decision but I would do it again.
The restaurant food was top notch but the service was extremely slow. It will be hard to get the public to give this a try without more attention to the service. The Inn itself was beautiful. There is a new manager who has been at the Inn only a month but seems to want to bring this Inn back to the standards it once had. It could be wonderful.
Pool had dirt on the bottom for two days before it was finally vacuumed. Carriage house is in need of a LOT of work. Roof is crumbling. Our door key didn't work and room smelled musty. No hooks and very few towel holders made it difficult to use the bathroom. Tile in bath/shower really needs replacing. Would be nice to have morning coffee available in the lobby. beds a bit too soft for our taste but not uncomfortable for me. There is a bump in the middle of the floor and the floor appears to slant downwards slightly.
First review I have ever given. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at, in the U S or abroad. Discovered late in the evening window behind curtain open with no screen. Room filled with bugs. Didn't make up room after first nights stay. Room of other friends staying there also not made up. Curtains were garbage hanging 2 feet on to the floor. Air conditioner so loud you couldn't sleep. They did nothing as an accomodation because the owner wasn't there and they had no authority to do anything.
It wasn't any better than a Motel 8. Everything was outdated. I didn't expect to be in "guest cottage". The rate was way overpriced. I felt it was false advertising. I would never recommend this Inn to anyone.
Good bar area with friendly staff
Location was good. Pool was good.
Bathroom small and outdated. Moldy shower and floor tiles peeling up. Breakfast was disappointing. Entire hotel needs updating.
The Inn was managed by friendly, accommodating staff and the location allowed us to park and walk to everything the village had to offer. The interior of the Inn was exceptional and our room/bath offered all any guest would need, and was clean!
Location. Character. possibilities. It's a delightful, rambling property at the heart if the town. Everything is walkable and what isn't is bike able up the mountain recreational path. Delightful living room & dining room. Lovely terraces. Friendly and inventive chef. Friendly but taxed chambermaid. Where are the fitted bottom sheets; the two person team to help with the load? Front desk fairly flat-footed management-wise - - but again, friendly.
So specific: tired old carpeting; poor room lighting for reading; loud and poorly regulated air conditioning; sorry, dry breakfast muffins don't equal a continental breakfast. Too bad no screens in living room windows - clammy on a hot night.
The location was great, and it was easy to find.
They didn't come in and clean the room while we were there - even take out the trash...
We were advised when we arrived that our room in the annexe was being redecorated and smelled of paint-we were very kindly offered 2 rooms in the main hotel-these where so nice. The rooms and staff were excellent and so kind-thank you so much for such a comfortable stay. We wish we had been staying for longer. Although it did not include breakfast there were complimentary drinks and fresh bakes. Would definitely recommend.
Location was great, staff did have a friendly demeanor
Room wasn't cleaned during our 2-night stay, had one towel for a 4-person room as we checked in.
Unfortunately, this Inn was not at all what it's protrayed to be. The real concern is the cleanliness and upkeep. Issues such as the shade not being able to close, and dryed toothpaste on the outside of the sink when we arrived, took a backseat to the fact that housekeeping didn't show up at all throughout our whole stay. When going to get towels & toliet paper at the front desk, excuses ranged from "some of the housecleaning staff just didn't show up" to "the whole housecleaning staff has the flu" to "they are all sick, one is even in the hospital with a staff infection." (wow! scary! enough said!)
The room was fairly run-down. Two of our family members who don't usually have strong allergies had exteme allergy issues with the room (probably mold). The breakfast was poor and the food ran out very quickly (if you didn't get there early, you missed out on the food). There was no maid service.
The pictures didn't exactly convey the brick-wall-pressed-wood thing they have going on...
