We spent three nights at Stoweflake accommodations were very good – weather was fantastic and spent hours on bike path, Hiking on Mount Mansfield, and relaxing by the pool - The staff was very friendly and helpful - All in all, a wonderful experience

The only downside was that the parking was a considerable distance from our room

Beautiful setting, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Our room was phenomenal with log effect gas fire, high speed internet and large bathroom. The spa was the best we have experienced.

One of the landings near our room had a stale smell and could do with a deep carpet clean. The grout in the bathroom could do with being replaced.

    Amenities work out and pool

Got the breakfast with room rate and wasn't a good value if not big eaters. We were two women

The spa services were excellent. The room was very nice, and clean as well.

It was a little pricey. We spent about 1500.00 for the weekend. We arrived Friday evening and left Sunday morning.

    - Great facilities, pool, gym, etc. - Cozy and large rooms, very clean. - Friendly staff, especially the Concierge Suzy spent a lot of time with us helping with dinner reservations and general ideas on how to get around Stowe - she was excellent! - Local bus to slopes and town stops right at the front door

    - Charlie B's bar associated with Stoweflake Resort - food not great, and overpriced.

We stayed in the spa queen room and it was spacious, had large bathroom with 2 sinks and was onthe same floor with the spa and pub. The spa was very good as well.

Stains on the bed covers and dated decor. No on demand TV.

Loved the amenities and staff. There wasnt a single accommodation they couldn't make. Previous reviewers stated there wasn't a microwave, but one of the attendants searched the entire hotel and actually brought one to our room. The location was great and close to everything. The vacation planner was excellent and was able to recommend several day and night trips and even booked a sleigh ride for us! Convenience of spa and restaurant was great and good at Charlie B's was excellent. The staff is a reason to return!

Upon entering the hotel everything looked warm and cozy, but when we got to our room there were stains on everything! The bathtub had grime on the outside, curtains, fireplace mantle and windows all had odd stains and drops of what looked like blood! I didnt feel clean sitting on the rocking chairs despite their comfortability. The bed linens were fine, not musty as others suggested. The pricing of the spa was extremely costly, and the cheapest treatment was a $75 25 minute massage. I know it's a resort, but the pricing is way too costly, as is the restaurant pricing. For a cup of soup, cheese platter and small portion of calamari, the total was $50! The food was good, but even the room service pricing was extreme--$23 for a plate of scallops. Understanding this is a resort, plan on your budget accordingly. But the stains in the room are unacceptable. I didnt feel comfortable at all attempting to not sit, lie, or touch a stain. The need to update rooms and cleaning services are a reason not to go here for the price.

repeat stay for us. Great room, it was off season but still well presented and lovely.

The plumbing needs some upgrades, otherwise rooms are very clean and presentable.

Large, spacious rooms with fireside in each room.

    A bit musty.

If you are looking for upscale lodging, run. This "luxury" resort had huge stains on the carpeting, disgustingly dirty grout in the bathroom, peeling wallpaper in the bedroom "suite," and the list goes on & on. We were beyond shocked at the condition of Stoweflake given the positive reviews on this site. If you want filthy accomodations, this is the place for you.

The staff was terrific but even they could not compensate for my upsetting experience.

The first room I was given was called "deluxe king or queen." It was small, hot and worn. The coffee maker didn't work and when3 men came to have a look at the fan one climbed up on the chair I had been sitting on to fiddle with the vents. When twin boys came tearing down the hall, I realized they were next door. I called the desk and asked for another room. It was foliage season and the hotel was full, a clerk at the front desk said. Eventually a more understanding desk clerk told me to come down and get a key to another room. She had given me a suite. It was large and quiet but worn. I decided to have room service but there was no menu and the phone worked only to call the front desk. An hour later I got a menu. I ordered a hamburger. When it arrived it looked like a hockey puck. I decided to slather it in condiments. When I turned it over a bite had been taken out of the fat burger and the bottom bun. It was disgusting. And unsettling.

    Good location. Quiet room.

Somewhat expensive for the type of room that was reserved. Unexplained daily "service fee" was charged.

The staff was incredible from check-in to concierge, to check-out. The facilities were clean, comfortable and really nice. We ate at Charlie B's - and the food was fresh and top quality and reasonably priced.

Hotel was a beautiful place and perfect for our family. Centrally located for the area. Everything was very clean and well appointed. We liked the choice of both an indoor and outdoor heated pool. We pre-purchased breakfast, a good decsion and delicious. All staff very attentive, courteous and friendly. Only needed 1 night, but would stay longer next time.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Our room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Restaurant onsite was excellent for breakfast, but lacking at lunch and dinner time (not much to choose from on menu).

Well, check in was at 3p and our room was still not ready and we had to go to a wedding at the Stowehof Inn at 3:30p. Staff was nice enough to let us use the spa locker room to freshin up and change before attending our cousin's wedding.

The resort is very relaxing, with lots of privacy or many activities if you would like to do something after recouping from your busy week. I will definitely stay there again without any hesitation. We booked a King room, upon arrival were told we were upgraded to an Executive King without requesting it. I thought that was a nice touch for our first visit to this excellent Spa and Resort. This isn't the only reason why we are so pleased with the resort. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to see if we needed anything. The fitness center was great if you wanted to workout after indulging in the night festivities at the resort or in the area. Great farmers market with many booths and lots of trails for hiking and biking. This resort has it all for any age group, a must stop on your vacation list. We will recommend this resort to our friends and will return soon.

    1. Sat. around 8 or 830 am, we were woke up with the riding lawn mower cutting the grass. First of all, it rained quite heavily the day before and throughout the night. I can't imagine cutting the grass that early and waking up their guests to cut grass esp. when it was so wet. The rooms have big Bay windows that are nice for a great view. The rooms are very sound proof like they advertise. Except for maintenance work at an odd hour of the day. 2. The refrigerator is underneath the wet bar sink w/o any ventilation. So when you open up the door to the cabinet to open the door to the fridge, it is overheating and your food, drinks etc. takes a long time to re-cool if it is opened for any period of time. The freezer was so iced over it was difficult to put anything in it. You couldn't find the temperature control. Suggestion: Have a vented side wall to the cabinet to allow for proper ventilation and this would eliminate all the freezing up in the freezer. I pulled the fridge out a little bit to prop the cabinet door open to let it cool off in the cabinet. 3. They advertise racquetball, which they have one court, that isn't the issue. I am retired US ARMY and have traveled extensively throughout the world over my career. I wanted to sign-up for court time and to see if there was a challenge court sign-up with the other guests possibly, it was raining alot. I asked if many people played at the resort and was told no. I then asked to book the court for an hour, the fee was $20.00 / half hour or $40.00 / hour. I have been playing rqtball since the early 80's, I have never been charged such an outrageous fee in some of the finer resorts/clubs in the country.I understand why other guests aren't playing squash/rqtball at this rate per hour. It rained throughout our stay and we actually didn't mind that, we always enjoy our trips regardless of the weather. So I was more inclined to play rqtball and indoor activities.
