You can sit in a great lounge with coffee and tea and a lovely view on the surroundings. Swimming pool with hot tub and sauna was nice for relaxing
We loved the atmosphere at the Inn. It was extremely cozy. We enjoyed the pool outside the restaurant as well as the hammocks and swings around the property. It was relaxing and the bed was INCREDIbLE! We haven't slept that good in a long time! Thank you for the great night and we will be staying again.
I felt the staff at the front desk was not very friendly at all. During check in They seemed abit annoyed and did not smile once...also the information in the room states that printing was available and when I went to inquire about printing forms I needed for work te next day I was rudely informed they didn't do this anymore due to all the spam it causes on the computer... And although I wa allowed to print I was defiantly an inconvenience to the woman at the front desk. This is the only complaint we had during our stay ... It's a beautiful place... Maybe a course in customer service would help some staff members.
the views the breakfast the cleanliness the hotel and all it's antiques the cozy feeling the people there, always smiling the hydrangea tree- amazing! We have enjoyed every minute there, at the hotel...if you have time, take the route 108, by car, you'll find all kind of nice spots to leave your car and to go hiking...we have found a nice zen garden, in the nature, huge rocks and green trees...just beautiful!
the smell of the water in the Jacuzzi..was a bit odd, like you are in the lake...maybe it was only that week-end but still, it has to be changed I cannot say more than that anything else...we loved relaxing at this beautiful old hotel
The pool. Breakfast was good.
The receptionist. Breakfast started to late. There was weird teddy bears all over the place.... WEIRD
MOLLY, AT THE FRONT DESK WHEN WE CHECKED IN, WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND A PLEASURE TO TALK WITH.
Good food, beautiful views and comfortable bed
Lights would flicker while on and the shower could use updating.
Beautiful location. Downstairs pub has good food. Large room.
Housekeeping could be improved; Two huge stains on our carpet, light bulb not working, after using, found my towel had a huge stain on it. Yuk. Would recommend they place coffee pots in the rooms. Customer service in the restaurants and front desk could be improved. Also, if anyone has a mobility problem or disability, this Inn is not the place to go. There are numerous stairs to most levels of the Inn, even to get in the front door and including to go for breakfast and dinner. Also to get ice or something in the vending machine. They do have an antique elevator, which does not go to all levels. There appears to be no accommodations for anyone that has a disability, even parking spaces close to the front door. They do have one sign way on the side for disability, which no one adheres to and anybody and everybody parks there. Unfortunately, even though the Inn is constantly full, I can't recommend.
The breakfast was nice
Clean, spacious room with great views. Food was excellent. Attended a wedding on the property which was beautiful. Loved the town of Stowe.
Our room - lovely view. Room appeared to be newly decorated with a new carpet. The food was delicious
Paper cups for breakfast. Sauna took a while to heat up.
We liked the spacious room with the alpine country feel and the large room where you can sit, read and have a coffee. The food we had was surprisingly good and the portions extremely generous.
There is a wonderful pool on the premices. It is unfortunate that there are no umbrellas to provide shade for users. One would wonder if this not done on purpose so clients do not have a desire to relax, read and enjoy the said pool. It seems that the hotel is designed to prevent the enjoyment of the outdoors: on scrawny plastic chair on our balcony. What a pity!
Great location, nice pool and garden
The place should be renovated
No comfort, old furniture, everything needs an upgrade while keeping the old Austrian-style charm.
Informal atmosphere, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful
The hotel design and cozy atmosphere. Excellent restaurant. Room was very good although quite noisy and cold. But we had a fireplace so we had a chance to use it every day))))
If u need anything on reception it can take pretty much time. We were waiting to check-in about 20-30 min. And we were the only guests on the reception. There was a spider in the dressing room. All this is not critical and quite alright with me so I wd definitely recommend this hotel and I wl stay there again for sure.
We liked the location, the stunning views, friendly staff and the restaurant. The games room was also a plus with children as was the living areas and fireplace!
The room was a little dated.
The Inn was close to the mountain. Staff was friendly. We stayed there on New Year's Eve and had a lovely dinner, food and wine were excellent!
The facility definitely needs updating. Matress was of very poor quality, foam on top of matress, very uncomfortable. There were 2 separate duvets on our bed and they did not fit (overlapped, which was very uncomfortable). Rest of the room was just okay, nothing fancy or pretty.
I find the Stowehof a charming hotel, but I did not enjoy the room this time. ( I have stayed at the hotel previously and enjoyed a much better room). This was not a cheaper room I actually paid the same price last year for a better room. If I had known on line that it was not a mountain view room I would have booked differently.
On the road side of hotel not the side with the view. Very poor floor insulation above, lots of noise of feet stomping and banging overhead two mornings. We rise at 7 so the stomping was late at night and 6am.
We liked the staff and location, the fondue at Emily's was delicious.
The hotel wasn't exactly kid friendly. Although there is a pub (you'd expect different prices for food) the menu is the exact same as the fine dining restaurant. The pool is tiny and here's only to 80'. Wall paper could use an update.
The breakfast was good, the staff was friendly, and the Inn had a lot of history.
The beds were not very comfortable, the hot tub wasn't hot and smelled kind of stagnant
