Stratford Hotel  

The hotel has a very good location and it was very clean. Overall good value for money. We had a problem with the heater (the radiator was leaking) and it was duly fixed by the staff.

The standard room is rather small. We are a mature couple traveling with two medium-size suitcases, which we had difficulties to place in the room. The complimentary breakfast is very limited.

The front desk clerks were very helpful with directions and suggestions

Smells great, very clean rooms and incredibly helpful staff. Superb value for the money.

Good value, great location in the city's main shopping district. Easy to access cable cars, trolleys and hop on/off bus tours

Breakfast room refurbishing started the day before we left, so it was very noisy on our (second) floor from early in the morning on. And the alternative breakfast room was way to small

Location was fabulous, out of the front door and on to the main street for shopping, bars and the cable car/tram. The staff are extremely helpful and hospitable, always up for a chat. Rooms are a little small but as holiday makers we were only in there to shower and sleep. We have stayed here when ever we have come to San Fran and recommended it to many friends who have stayed here too. Great place!

Our only complaint would be the lift, its a little slow to get to the eighth floor but taking the stairs was great exercise.

Extremely good location. You can not imagine it better, if you want to explore the city and be in the middle of life. Very friendly and helpfull personnel.

Despite we asked the quiet room, we were given a room facing the street with all the noise. The rooms are very very basic and small. I thought that a room with 2 double beds would be bigger, however, they put 2 beds in the same room-size. So we could not really squeze the suit case somewhere in the room....

The locations I s great. Very close to the Bart and shopping. Right in the middle of Union Square.

The room was very small and hot. We had 2 twin beds and no air conditioning. The heater pipe in the closet was on all the time making this small room stiffling even with the window open. The continental breakfast is very sparce. Toast, muffins, juice. The elevator is very slow as well. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. The shower was extrememly small. In the bathroom there was a drain that was a tripping hazard which I tripped on several times.

The location was excellent. It was at a safe part of union. I definitely had a city feel at this hotel. The bathroom and room is cleaner and better looking in person than in pics depicted in photos on Expedia, booking.com and travel advisor. The staff was patient and helpful, and I totally recommend the hotel room. It's not a wow hotel, but you definitely get your pennies worth more so that I actually took the time to write a review.

No gym, no pool. Not crowded but not spacious. It's a very simple hotel with no wow factor. However these complaints are very minor.
