The location is perfect, this is obviously the main USP of this hotel. My room was horrible. It was very small and when opening the window there was a very loud noise coming from outside. I guess the windows opens towards a shaft that functions as the exhaust space for several AC systems. Basically it sounded like a jumbo jet was taking off constantly right outside your window. The hotel breakfast is very poor and the elevator is probably one of the slowest Elevators in existence. At busy hours (breakfast hours) you can expect your trip downstairs to take about 15 minutes. The Stratford hotel is a good option when you are planning a short city trip and you are not looking for any level of comfort. If you are looking for anything else, than stay way.

It was central to access san fran, was cmfortable and staff were pleasant, union sq just round corner for all stop hop on hop off buses, cable car stop outside, room smallish but we only slept in it.

Good location and not too expensive. The staff were very good and polite and accommodating - did their best to extend our checking out time on the last day. On our last night there was a false fire alarm. Not very pleasant to be awakened after midnight by a recording that instructs you to go to the nearest exit. Blame it on technology or whatever, but ...

The location was perfect. The morning coffee and toast was nice. The room was tiny but very functional. The solitary elevator was unfortunate... During my stay, the hotel had been booked by a tour group with endless luggage. Only 5 allowed in the tiny elevator space at one time. My room was on the sixth floor, so the walk up and down was mostly doable, except, when I, too, had luggage to move.

Impressively clean and safe. It is a modest place, not a lot of space but perfect for my needs. Friendly staff, comfortable room and bed. As a single woman I always look for clean and safe as the primary factors when booking; this place was great. Price was very good. Easy walk to shopping and events, cable car goes right past hotel. Great value. Because of location I was afraid it would be noisy and was shocked that it wasn't. I'd recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Can't think of a single thing. Great value and wonderful stay.

Statford has a friendly accommodating staff. Great value for a hotel with such a good location. The towells and linens looked old and worn out.

Nice quite hotel with very freindly atmosphere, high professional personnel. Rooms are very small, but the hotel located in the downtown neat the Union Squareand all what you need is close to you.

Friendly staff, small but nice light breakfast. Breakfast room refurbishing started the day before we left, so it was very noisy on our (second) floor from early in the morning on. And the alternative breakfast room was way to small

Location was fabulous, out of the front door and on to the main street for shopping, bars and the cable car/tram. The staff are extremely helpful and hospitable, always up for a chat. Rooms are a little small but as holiday makers we were only in there to shower and sleep. We have stayed here when ever we have come to San Fran and recommended it to many friends who have stayed here too. Great place! Our only complaint would be the lift, its a little slow to get to the eighth floor but taking the stairs was great exercise.

Extremely good location. You can not imagine it better, if you want to explore the city and be in the middle of life. Very friendly and helpfull personnel. Despite we asked the quiet room, we were given a room facing the street with all the noise. The rooms are very very basic and small. I thought that a room with 2 double beds would be bigger, however, they put 2 beds in the same room-size. So we could not really squeze the suit case somewhere in the room....
