We stayed here at the end of August, the woman at the front desk gave us a free upgrade since there were plenty of available rooms. The room was very cozy and spacious. The lodge was a short walk to the village which we really liked.
It was down a hill, so walking uphill to the village was a little annoying. Other than that everything rocked.
The staff was wonderful! Friendly, helpful and there for any and all questions.
The hot tub was not very inviting to go in. It needed to be cleaned badly
Room had a musty smell.
Scenic location & outstanding service!!
Staff members were very kind and helpful. Went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. View is beautiful. I would definitely stay there again.
When I asked about pools, I wasn't told, for an indoor pool, you need to use a nearby sports facility and pay $15/day. Outdoor pool was in another location (close by)and was VERY cold. It was behind a vacant hotel and the area around pool was very dirty. Also, no small refrigerator in any of the rooms... But I'd still go back.
the decor was fine and the bed comfortable.
No frig , coffee maker or elevator.
Mary at the front desk and maintenance man Ken went above and beyond-just incredible people trying to help out two hungry, tired travelers.
most outlets in room did not work-very difficult to find in the dark
rooms are large, updated and comfortable
breakfast is quite minimal for this type of accommodation. most annoying: having to listen to 5 minutes of promotional verbiage everytime you call and then MAYBE a person will answer-- book with a third party, it's easier
Location - near village, however, Stratton Village closes at 5:00 pm
Website states pool facilities - indoor and outdoor - no indoor or indoor pool on site at all. Use of an outdoor pool is available at hotel next door which is very discrepant. Indoor pool use is at a sport complex - again, NOT onsite as one is lead to believe - which is at a cost/fee of $15!. My family was excited about playing tennis. However, tennis court was in total disrepair - grass/weeds growing up in court, fencing falling down, nets with holes, etc. Very disappointed. I have spent much less than $165/night and have had all these amenities at high quality and use. Location was beautiful and that was about it.
Receptionist on duty when I arrived Fri evening 8/1 at about 9 P.M. was extremely helpful.....I think she deserves a raise... room was very clean and comfortable....
VT tax takes advertised rate (abt $98?) to close to $120.....
The restaurant in the hotel had a very limited and rather unappealing menu. We were given breakfast vouchers but breakfast started at 7am, we were long gone for our event before that.
Staff was extremely friendly and addressed my needs as they came up in a very friendly way.
The price was steep for the amenities and room offered.
Good location, friendly staff, spacious quarters.
Small (single) bed for 2 large males was uncomfortable. Arcade needs to be updated.
Our room seemed brand new...it was a very nice stay
EVERYTHING! Super clean with extras, staff was incredibly friendly, A++++++++
The walls were very thin. Also I didn't think the morning staff was ready for the amount of people there was for breakfast.
The room and beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful.
Only two negatives for me was the partially thread bare towel and the fact that I could hear the person above me pacing when I was trying to go to sleep.
Nothing the place was close for renovation s which we were not told sbout.
We were on the mountain a couple of weeks after they had closed the ski lifts, and it was a fantastic relaxing getaway! We were the only guests in the hotel. We had requested a king-size bed, but they had only double-queen rooms ready - so they upgraded us to an apartment. We had the best and most relaxing stay there, including breakfast prepared for only us each morning, so that we decided to stay one additional night. We loved it!
The location, the cleanliness, the staff.
It was off-season and EVERYTHING in the area was closed. Breakfast was minimal. Restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner. Hot tub and sauna were both closed.
Location and renovations in room
Booked a room with a room with a queen bed and a mountain view through Booking.com and was placed in a room with two double beds and on the basement level in the back of the building. Our "mountain view" was a pile of snow outside of our window!
Lift tickets taken care of at front desk. Nice breakfast selection. Mountian shuttle very convenient.
All night party above my daughters room. Dinner service was horrible, with hair in food.
The bathroom was very modern and contained all the typical amenities found in a more expensive hotel.
Staff seemed annoyed and overall service was poor. Not sure how many of them hadn't smoked pot within the last 24hrs.
Great place, the rooms and hallways in general were a bit dated but the beds were modern and clean, and the front desk area was cozy and welcoming. Great breakfast too.
Weak Wi-Fi connection, hot tub chemicals so strong or tongues and throats burned for 8 hrs, ants in sauna, some loud drunk guests
Very close to Stratton village and the lifts, with a free shuttle ride should you not wish to walk. Cheapest place to stay on the mountain. A good, hot shower, and my own thermostat, allowing me to keep the room nice and cool, just the way I like it.
This antique structure is not built to modern hotel standards. Staying in a ground-floor room, I could hear intelligible conversations coming from rooms to either side, and above! (The crying ten-year-old upstairs: "Don't touch my stuff! I hate it when you touch my stuff!!) Every footstep in the room above resulted in loud thumps and the creaking of old timbers. It's spring now, and there hasn't been significant snowfall in days. There's no excuse for not maintaining the parking lot, which was an obstacle course of 3" thick sheets of ice interspersed with gravel and mud. I damaged the front grill of my car while maneuvering into a spot. The complimentary breakfast was awful. The cook probably learned his or her craft on work detail at a prison cafeteria. Yes, the room has a high-definition flat screen TV. And it is fed with the grainiest low-definition cable I've seen in years. Flashback to video rentals on VHS.
