    only location

-$50 extra+over tax. -not clean. -not same as photo. On 25 July we book there when we reach three they got $50 very simple (regardless tax) they shift us to another guesthouse next building –not clean very old style. When I checked they said no space. There have just doing business to take 50 dollar and shift u to next gest house which is not same as they shows here in I shocked how they got this rate review? Probably cheating.

The property is a nicely renovated brownstone in the regentrified West Harlem area. Its obviously well located if you have business in that part of town. The renovation is done with taste and I found the beds comfortable and the room size very agreeable.

Parking can be a challenge if you are trying to find a space at night.

Homey relaxed atmosphere. Convenient room with small kitchen for ability to cook

Common areas were a bit 'messy', like being in someone's private home.

I loved the amount of space, and everything that we had available to us. And the bus line we needed to go to Randalls Island was about a block away.

The accomodation was perfect! - large room with large bed, nice and clean bathroom - fridge, plates etc included - quite a good location to get to the midtown Manhatton. - calm area, walking distance to the subway - Jeremy (the owner) was really nice - we got a long list with tips what to do in the NYC prior to our arrival, really helpful

We were in the 3rd floor and the wifi didnt work very well there. However it worked at the ground floor. Please note the payment is done at the arrival

Great host with lots of knowledge. Subway was only a 5 min walk away. Bed was very comfortable. Great value for money.

The noise from the street outside. Window is permanently open due to a/c unit.

The hotel is very clean and comfort. The location are very nice, only about 6 minutes walk to the subway station. Jeremy is a great guy. Our flight was at midnight but he allowed us to store our luggages at the hotel. Overall very great!

There was nothing that we dislike.

Very nice room plenty of room. Owner had left suggestions on things to do and see in the area

Owner had very strong political and social views and we felt these were forced down your troath. It also appeared that the B and B was not a legal establishment and notes were left not to allow police entre the building

Gorgeous room, great breakfast, very clean, quiet and safe area, great restaurants and bars nearby, easy to get to downtown Manhattan.

The owner is very nice and accommodating, but a bit extreme is his views of the world which he is very keen to discuss at all times.

the house is beautiful, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel at home instantly. Compared to any of the downtown hotels you get a vast amount of space for your money too. It was nice to stay in a part of town that you might not otherwise explore, but at the same time the nearby subway lines mean it is only a short ride to downtown Manhattan. I enjoyed the guide that was left in my room too!

The beds were very good and the rooms are quit. So you can get a good night sleep. There are very nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. The owner of the B&B makes a different breakfast every day

Nice clean room, perfectly served my needs to move my daughter to her room by City Collage. Nice restaurants and coffee shops half a block away. Felt safe to walk around at night. Not far from the A express subway station.

Would love to have some coffee available in the morning. Even though a coffee shop was few steps away, I still had to dress up to walk out at 6F to get my coffee in the morning.

Treatment by staff to walk to another location, location of the suites, not as advertised etc, I had to cancel my reservation. I would never ever ever in my life book to stay at Sugar Hill. George

This place is awesome! We stayed in a place in Chinatown before this and sugar harlem in saved our opinion of New York. We stayed in Billie's and Dizzy's room. The beds were so comfortable! And it was quiet! Bathrooms were really clean too. I was pleasantly surprised because it was reasonably priced. Give this place a shot! It's lovely!

Bit far from main part of town, but is 25 min from midtown. Not so bad

Everything was fantastic, we really loved our stay at the Sugar Hill in Harlem. The rooms are so lovely and very unique. Jeremy is a super host and we really enjoyed the breakfast with all the other guests and the yummy food. Also the location of the bed and breakfast is great. Just a few minutes from a subway station and supermarkets and delis nearby. But also thanks to helpful tips of our host, we enjoyed nice evenings in bars and restaurants of Harlem.

Amazing hotel interior. Antiquarian furniture, many books, lot of small details which makes every room cosy and unique. And it has so tasty wood smell. Love the cat, living on the first floor. Our Miles' room was quite big and comfortable. Jeremy, the owner, is very nice. So, the person, who has such house, just cannot be uninteresting. And he also helped us with one our situation with tickets and hotel. Thanks again.

Unfortunately when we checked-in, we saw somebody's hair in the sink in the bathroom and thanks God my husband didn't step barefoot on the huge needle on the carpet. Some towels were clean but with unwashed yellow spots (!). If you have room with windows on the street, it will be like you have no panes in your windows at all - very noisy at night. In spite of these facts we loved the hotel and its atmosphere.
