Overpriced, had to ask for sugar and creamer, shower turned cold half way, no bath or basin plugs, no aircon and had to climb 3 flights of stairs, with all our luggage to get to our room as no lift
The beds were comfortable and the inn was nostalgic.
We probably were unlucky, but someone must have been smoking in the room next door. Two days of three we had a strong smell of smoke in our room.
The rooms were very charming and nice and clean.
The room was clean and spacious.
The room was really comfortable and nicely decorated. It was easy to get to the subway and we had no problems finding the place.
Beautiful old brownstone in West Harlem or what's sometimes called Hamilton Heights. Right down the street from CUNY, and from the Grainge, Alexander Hamilton's actual home before he was killed in a dual across the river in Weehawken. This is a great neighborhood and this place is a little gem of a hotel--assuming you aren't looking for a cookiecutter room at a chain.
beautiful room，located very close to subway，super nice house holder
everything. Place is wonderful, old and stylish. Real guest house. Owner is very interesting and friendly man, he likes to talk about NY and the world :-)
Luggage up 4 flights was hard, but got some good cardo in!
The bed was w wonderful. After working 10 hr days. It was a joy to sleep in.
Hot water was not working. Amenities are older than I expected.
Located close to my event
Lack of customer service and was not available when needed. When customers are traveling and have to make last minute arrangements this place is not convient for you. They Steal your money.
The pictures on the website was the only good thing.
EVERYTHING, Stuff was horrible, I will never reserve a room there anymore
It could be a little bit cheaper and the room wasn´t heated. You could hear neighbors and the toilet flushed unvoluntarily so that it was hard to sleep sometimes.
It is situated close to the center, the personel and the owner were friendly and the furniture was comfortable. All in all the small house is beautiful and kinda romantic. The neighborhood was friendly as well.
1st of all it is not guaranteed that you're going to get your room even if you have a previous booking and already paid, so the hotel manager can transfer you to any other even worse of hotel 2nd It was freezing in the rooms as the Heater works only for 15mn, we actually got sick down with cold 3rd People around within the hotel were drunk fighting & shouting all the night I don't recommend this place even if free stay is offered.
The WIFI mentioned seemed to be missing
Sugar Hill is a home from home kind of place, comfortable, full of character and feeling. I would return again.
That I didn't stay longer
Hotel manager Bernadette is just fabulous. Very quaint , private and quiet stay.
My room was on the top of a 4 floor walk up so it was hard to carry my bag up it. The bed was ok, but way too soft for my personal liking. It was kind of loud and being a B&B not as private feeling as a standard room.
I liked that it was close enough to walk to my friends apartment who is suffering from Cancer. I was in the area specifically to visit her and just wanted to get a room somewhere close. I also thought the price was good. And it had some charm. Interesting architectural details. I had my own bathroom which is good.
The staff especially were just great. So helpful. The room was wonderful and the bed was so comfy. My husband and I both managed to get sick whilst in NYC but so we unfortunately spent a lot of time in the room! But we couldn't have asked for a better place. I know a few people complained about the code to get in, but it wasn't rocket science. Enter the code, unlock the door. Done. :)
Stairs, very poor wifi, room not perfectly kept
Decoration and furniture
Sugar Hill Harlem Inn made for a relaxing romantic weekend....
This was my first time at a B&B it was great. I have no complaints well maybe one. There was a cat downstairs sitting in a chair (my partner suffers from allergies). Luckily she had no reaction. The space cleanliness was great. The bed oh my goodness extremely comfortable. Everything we need was right there.
But we didn't like the location it was on a hill, the place look like apartments so it made it very hard to find, and we got hoodwinked on the price
Me and my husband loved the bed
The stairs - if a guest has any mobility issues, this is probably not the place for you. Make sure you read the fees and tax information, we were a bit confused by the invoice mailed by bnb...which indicated total cost in bold print, and "not including..." in much smaller print. Parking was difficult..so it is best to rely on public transportation. ...was a bit offended by the "mammy" caricature plaques that decorated the wall of the owner's reception area, but didn't take the time to mention it...
The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The manager was very hospitable. Even when we arrived at 11:30 to a locked door and she was awakened out of her sleep, she was gracious. The neighborhood was safe and clean. Beyond a few ambulance sirens, it was very quiet at night.
Need to update pictures, as it didn't look anything like what we've seen, Internet was really rubbish Jeremy came across rather condesending
Liked the cat The building was lovely
A little out of the way.
The room was very comfortable. Nice big bathroom.
There was an extra fee (service..?) not included in the original price that they asked us to pay...
Nice location in Harlem, a great area to explore in the weekend.
Bit of a walk to the subway but it was my choice. Could have taken the bus that was much closer.
Friendly, comfortable, huge room for the price.
