Location Modern decor Spacious Tandem seating desk for 2 people Good coffee Cute room numbers with local black and white images on each door Hot waffles The absence of a $12.00 bottle of water in the room. This makes me much more likely to stay with Hampton in the future. (I find the "$12.00 dollar bottles" of water in hotel rooms insulting, greedy and a poor business practice.) Excellent advice by desk staff about the high quality Chinese restaurant across the street from hotel. Microwave nice. Coffee avail in room.small refrigerator empty so guests could actually use it.
Shower was a unworkable puzzle. Door opened into the shower space on the end with the shower head. There was no way to adjust the temperature without having the, initially, very cold water spray you down thoroughly. Unbelievable that this enormous bathroom design flaw "made it" to production. I am surprised Hampton has not already fixed this untenable shower situation. No towel rack for hand towels by the sink. No low wattage reading lights by head of bed. No eggs are better than powdered eggs for breakfast. I did not like having to check in and then walk back out to my car with a document for the car to prevent it from being ticketed by hotel staff. This is not at all welcoming. Pillows very flat and non-supportive. Comforter synthetic and non-breathable - suffocating. Sheets not high quality - more like hospital sheets. Windows unopenable and no fresh air. Air in room VERY dry.
My brother and his family LOVED the room and raved about the free breakfast. I was very happy that they were so comfortable.
I just happened to check my credit card activity and found that an extra $68.10 was charged to my card out of the blue two days after the checkout date. I called to find out what the charge was for, and it was a mystery - no one could explain it. After some delay on the phone, the mgr apologised and said she would refund in full. It made me nervous though - what if I hadn't checked my online account activity? They could have gotten away with this $ (basically theft). I appreciate the apology but the incident was VERY disturbing.
parking is advertised as free but there is an additional charge
Great location: UNC is quite nearby. This location is as far west as it gets in greater Chapel Hill. Downtown Carrboro is an attractive neighborhood. The room was quiet and comfortable.
Buffet breakfast was free but below the quality you might expect at the room price. Items weren't replenished promptly. Street signage for the entrance is minimal. Heed your GPS if you've never been here before. $5 per night parking in municipal garage not included in inclusive charges.
This place is just fine. Most rooms do not have refrigerators which I find really odd since, to me, that's a basic requirement. Be warned that if booking a standard King via Booking.com and at time of check-in they are sold out, management puts you in a room which was (excluding the bath an hallway) approximately 120 sf with a king bed crammed in it. Their reason? It is their "last sold" room which makes no sense since I a) arrived shortly after check-in started at 3pm and b) reserved it over 7 months in advance. I believe there is one of these very small rooms on each floor; this room should be a storage closet or an extension of the corner room it is next to... not a solo room. I kindly requested a room switch, but the front desk refused due to the hotel being sold out. Unfortunately, I was staying there for 5 nights -- you'd think that they'd take this into consideration along with my Gold Hhonors status as well, but no. Upon returning to the hotel late that night, I spoke with the woman working overnight at the front desk and she was kind enough to advise the best way to get my room switched the next day. Fortunately, this worked. This staff member is the one element of my stay that I'd give 5 stars to. The rest of it was 3 or less.
Room quality and comfort was excellent. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty good, but not amazing.
This hotel is very difficult to find because it's not visible from the street, and there is no Hampton Inns sign. There are only two small plastic signs on the sidewalk to indicate where to turn in to the driveway, which I did not see until after I drove around for 15 minutes, checking the map a few times to find it. When I left, I had to wait for 1 hour for the rental car pickup to find me. There is a $5 fee per night for parking in the adjacent parking garage. This is a college town, with a premium on parking at certain times of the year, but there should be some dedicated free hotel parking.
Great location, near UNC and restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Architecture & decor of bldg. and lobby.
Shower head was WAY too high, so we couldn't adjust it Hallway was uncomfortably hot.
The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The location was very close to the campus, within walking distance. The staff was courteous. The lobby had an interactive map to help us find our destination.
The signage was so minimal, I drove past 3 times before I found it. I was already charged the room rate, but still was charged an additional parking fee.
Awesome complimentary breakfast, Super nice staff, huge rooms, very clean, suite had an extra sink by fridge and microwave, nice pool and patio...kid friendly! Good restaurant with outside seating attached...we sat outside late nite while the kids slept in their stroller! :)
Parking garage was not attached to building and was a bit inconvenient...but well worth it. We will Def be back!
The king suite was lovely. We enjoyed it so much
Pool is too small and the walls need cleaned
Breakfast in the morning.
Check in was slow as only one person was working the front desk.
free WilFi in room. Good mattress. Nice breakfast. 24 hr. snack/drink commissary.
no morning paper, no fridge
The air conditioner was so noisy I didn't sleep much the first night. They replaced the unit and it was quiet for the next night, and then got progressively louder. On my last night there I had to turn it off in order to be able to sleep. Woke up with flea bites on the second morning.
Even though there were some complications with the reservation they were super polite and helpful in sorting it out.
Great hotel. Thanks for the excellence. Thanks. Greg Lazzaroni Maryland
The breakfast was Amon the best for a chain hotel.
The ridiculously small signs on the main road. Couldn't find the place the first time on the dark. The $5 parking charge in the adjacent ramp which was empty save for hotel cars which were required to park on top levels.
It was very upscale, great breakfast. Great service. Perfect location. The price was fabulous.
The decor is beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable, polite, helpful. The room was well appointed including comfortable beds, pillows, linens, a GREAT shower. The breakfast buffet and the staff tending to it were excellent.
Well kept, comfortable - we usually stay at B&Bs, but this Hampton Inn was a nice substitute. Will consider Hampton Inn again.
I stayed there for 5 nights - it was great.
Everything was great. Thank you.
