Score from 25 reviews Very good
Room was large and comfortable
Had trouble with room security safe initially. Breakfast room was too small for demand.
Staff, hotel, location, right by train station.. Breakfast..
Very convenient when arriving in the evening from JFK and close to the station
Not much in the immediate area if you arrive late in the evening
Location, bed confortable
Dirty room, dirty bathroom, unfriendly and slow working staff
they had breakfast. subway nearby. cheap
Good location (short walk to subway), easy access to Manhattan, many little shops within walking distance. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Nice, comfortable rooms and beds. Looks like entire building was renovated not long ago.
No hotel parking. Noise from the street.
They had a free movie channel. Had free wi-fi.
The movie channel didn't work. There was no guest computer. The rooms were very small, almost too small for even 2 people. Too much noise from outside, people could be heard yelling & fighting with each other, traffic noise at all hours.
Location was close to a subway, lots of restaurants around, and everything was nice and clean in the room and hotel. The bed was really comfortable and they weren't chintzy with the pillows.
The room was very close to the lobby and you could hear people on the intercom and in common area very loudly. But we just bought some earplugs and that solved the problem.
The best about this hotel is being close to the subway, in 30 minutes you can be at the heart of Manhattan. Clean rooms with a comfortable bed. Breakfast is basic but still good,
The worst thing is that you can hear any sound in the corridors.
cannot beat the price!!!!
while checking in the woman in charge took time out to scold a young employee right in front of me. She was impressing upon him the importance of the guests needs. As I stood there, waiting? Not a good start
all o.k,,.with out hotel tel. connections with my room -
The lobby is really small (not really important)
Multiple problems activating the movie-beam service Trash around the front of hotel Front desk staff not rude, but not welcoming either
Close to subway station with good connections, reasonable price, interesting neighborhood, room nicer than I had expected and surprisingly quiet.
the closeness of the subway, and the fact that the hotel staff accomemdated you by storing your bags if you got in early before check in time which we did and it allowed us the time to check out the cityof New York and check back in later
The rooms are small but that is the normal for Brooklyn, and the breakfast area could be larger. The food was average and good
The beds were decent.
Sumner advertises free "oversize parking" when they don't even have regular parking for their guests. When we got to our room, we realized that the bathroom light and thermostat did not work. We got in at 4am and were checking out at 10am so I didn't complain to the hotel staff about the problems but those things should be checked by their staff after each guest leaves.
bed was OK
*room C03 (in the basement floor) *A/C without a remote *they charged my credit card twice and it took me 4 calls and one e-mail with my bank account statements to sort it out, very imcompetent staff
Everything in the hotel was fairly modern, but just not cleaned and maintained.
The room was filthy. Shower had pink scum and mold in the grout. There was trash (used plastic cups and napkins) behind the nightstand. The mirrors were only 3/4 wiped clean. The bed skirt on one of the beds was tremendously stained. Could not get the heat/ac unit to work. Heard people talking in the hallway all night. Woken by others slamming their doors all night. Lampshades in room were stained and ripped. Didn't even want to try and eat breakfast in the morning, just too skeeved out.
The toilet was leaking actions the bathroom floor and they shut the water off to it, but used all the bath towels to dry the floor and I didn't have any after my shower! I had to turn on the water to flush!!
Close to metro station. Good transport links with Manhattan. Clean, comfort room. Good wi-fi.
not the best neighborhood especially in the night time.
The way the front desk people conduct the guests as if the guest are at thier mercy.... Especially there was a short girl on the front desk who is shouting and yelling for no reason....Such people are worthless to be in Hospitality industry
Clean. Quiet. Close to train but I drove my car.
I rate this place a 4.5 for out of towners with a vehicle & not familiar with the area. No parking. The hotel is on a back block with four parking spaces. Four!!! With no parking they dont need to charge more then $99 a night. A hotel for locals. I'm not from NY. I had to park at least 15 minutes away from my car - walking distance. Alone. At night. Not from the area. My 1st time actually. It was infuriating and made me a bit irate. Bad experience walking myself very late in the night with my overnight bag. Also, desk clerk was nice enough to Google some directions for parking & gave me the print out for a location that was in NJ. She obviously didn't have a clue that she was in the state of NY. Smh.
