the closeness of the subway, and the fact that the hotel staff accomemdated you by storing your bags if you got in early before check in time which we did and it allowed us the time to check out the cityof New York and check back in later
The rooms are small but that is the normal for Brooklyn, and the breakfast area could be larger. The food was average and good
Everything in the hotel was fairly modern, but just not cleaned and maintained.
The room was filthy. Shower had pink scum and mold in the grout. There was trash (used plastic cups and napkins) behind the nightstand. The mirrors were only 3/4 wiped clean. The bed skirt on one of the beds was tremendously stained. Could not get the heat/ac unit to work. Heard people talking in the hallway all night. Woken by others slamming their doors all night. Lampshades in room were stained and ripped. Didn't even want to try and eat breakfast in the morning, just too skeeved out.
The toilet was leaking actions the bathroom floor and they shut the water off to it, but used all the bath towels to dry the floor and I didn't have any after my shower! I had to turn on the water to flush!!
Close to metro station. Good transport links with Manhattan. Clean, comfort room. Good wi-fi.
not the best neighborhood especially in the night time.
The way the front desk people conduct the guests as if the guest are at thier mercy.... Especially there was a short girl on the front desk who is shouting and yelling for no reason....Such people are worthless to be in Hospitality industry
Value for money, location
Room has anything but kettle. And bath blankets kinda small.
near underground station! restaurant and shops near
I liked the location and how easy it was to get there. Sumner Hotel stay was the best part on my whole trip.
Everywhere else. People were not nice at all. The city sinks, smells like sewer.
Carpet smell molded
Staff weren't very helpful, room in the basement wasn't great.
Tv need to have more cable channels show time, encore , stararz
The comforter of the bed.
It's never fails I book a room for 2days and get up leave for work. Get off work at 3:30 travel back to the hotel get to the room is not clean or anything and I have the pictures to prove it. Not very professions at all. I should have asked for my money back.
Great value Rooms are a good size for New York budget hotel Very clean and comfortable
Very near to the Metro station, to shops
Room was a bit to small for familly size. Breakfast could have been a bit more furnished, allthought it is not the poorst I've seen.
Staff Convenience to train station Felt i was in a safe area. Great food at local IHOP! This was my first trip to Brooklyn though I've been coming to NYC for over 60 years. It was awesome!
I had to leave!
Good location, right next to the subway. Lots of stores in the area.
Breakfast was good they didn't have much of anything. The towels were old & beat up
I liked that the hotel was literally a block away from a subway station and there are a lot of places to eat near by. The hotel was also surprisingly clean and well maintained I didn't expect it to be as nice but it was a good surprise.
The only thing I really didn't like was the room got a little damp unless you crank the a/c till it was like really cold so I had to open the window at times to balance it out which really wasn't that big of a deal. Also if you wanted to get your room clean you would have to be out by 11 or else they dont come back which was kinda annoying because I like to sleep in on vacations.
Great shower! Clean and cozy.
There was limited parking, only 4 spaces and I have a disability so having to park on the street away fem the hotel was very inconvenient.
continental breakfast included free of change
it seems no sevice at all...when we were back home at 10pm and asked for changing of bath towel as we didn't and housekeeping , but reception said maid is not on duty, just tried the best to get us bath towel...service is supposed to be 24 hours, they should make some more effort on this..
- It's close to the train - 200 word MINIMUM? Are you kidding? You're gonna have to try a lot harder to give me 200 words worth of positive things to say about this place.
- Confirmation letter sent from hotel not sent from any official account, but from a free gmail account... and contained several grammatical errors (should have been the first red flag right there). - It's not close to anything except the train - Once you get back to your room you pretty much have to be ready to go to bed because there's nothing to do or eat within walking distance (more-disgusting-than-usual fast food doesn't count) - Tacky/cheap decor - Idiotic layout (spa right next to the bed, srsly?) - !!!>>>>> Room smelled like a locker room <<<<<<<!!! - No "sitting area" as advertised - Staff apathetic about room condition, painfully obvious faked sincerity... the man who authorized my CC was nice, the rest of my interactions with the staff made me want to tell my mother (who was visiting for her 70th birthday) to pack up her stuff so I could take her to a different hotel. - Cheap building/thin walls - Breakfast was a joke/disgusting coffee - Would recommend others to pay a little more for a nicer hotel in a better location
The Location of the Hotel is good. Brooklyn is interesting and definately worth a visit when you are in New York. The price of the Hotel is much better then the ones in Manhatten. But that'is on the positive side.
I have never been the complaining type of guest. But this was my first time I had to complain. Three times I made the staff aware of the fact, that the room was very dirty. There was dust on all surfaces (except the table and bed side tables, which I guess get cleaned by the use by the user of this room). The lampshade had at least a 0.5 cm dust layer, the carpet edges were really dirty as well. I wonder when that has been cleaned the last time and the staff just did not wanted to understand me or just did not get the point. Despite the fact that the Hotel is cheaper then most of the Manhatten Hotels you can find, I would not say that it is value for money. I can only recommend this Hotel if you need a cheap place to stay and do not care about the cleanliness of the rooms. I have never felt to uncomfortable in a Hotel room. Information material about the city, something you can find in most Hotels, was practically not there. The breakfast was ok, basic I would say. It however did not match the expectations made on the website. One important advise, if you want a non-smoking room, make sure you booked one.
