Score from 205 reviews Very good
The hotel was convient in location.
Everything was well worn, if not near worn out. We got a fair price for the room we had, but if we had paid more I would have went elsewhere. I was disapointed as I thought of the Summit name as being associated with a better quality hotel.
Time Warner cable, no guide.
Room had microwave and fridge.
Room smelled Pictures on website are much newer than actual conditions Complementary breakfast - well I guess if you are the first 5 people. I would never consider this Summit and will think twice about any other Summit and only if last resort.
Will not stay at this hotel again
Granite counters were nice, the beds were comfortable, it was close to the conference center where my conference was.
In a bad area, nearby restaurants were closed down and vacant. There were people hanging around outside of their rooms drinking and a carrying on into the early morning hours. I couldn't get the air-conditioner to stay on to produce "white noise" to drown out the outside noise. They were out of juice at the breakfast bar at 8:00 a.m. and the selection was poor i.e., a couple of cereals, bagels, toast and coffee. There were used dirty towels left in the room from the previous guest. I stay in 5 star hotels in Ausitn for the price I paid for this room.
Clerk was very helpful and nice. Good access to the area.
First room had not been cleaned. Next room, smoking, no ashtrays! Clerk did deliver them quickly. Wanted to iron clothing. Had an ironing board - no iron. Oh well had one in the car. Loud neighbors yelling for 30 min.
Staff was very accomadating and helpful ( especially William). We arrived early and he was able to find us a room immediately when we asked ( 45minutes after other clerk told us to come back ).
when we arrived early the night clerk told us there were no rooms available and we could come back in the afternoon and see if a room was ready, even though there were several rooms with open curtains showing empty rooms
Everything pretty much was good. The staff was very courteous & helpful. I would recommend it to others. We had a nice stay.
The restroom was not functioning The air conditioner was not functioning. The price was high for the condition of the room!
The front desk staff was not at the desk several times when I went to ask for something. The phone did not work & nothing was done when I reported it. The whole hotel showed its age and was not clean.
It is very close to Texas State University.
The room was not as clean as I would have expected. There was extra furniture in the room - just pushed against the wall. Noisy neighbors stood outside room in parking lot visiting very late. Looked like "crime scene" tape wrapped around broken railing in room above.
Location and price was great. Staff was very friendly.
The room smelled of smoke.
Had a great stay. You could tell it was newly remodeled.
There wasn't any traffic noise, the room was clean, and the AC worked great!
Decor needs updating, not enough parking, and the stairs & balcony needs work.
Bare bones hotel. Nothing fancy. Easy on and off to highway. Best part was the Sonic in the adjoining parking-lot so we could get drinks before we hit the road.
Everything was good just pool close early for summer.. AC made a loud noises.. but it was clean ...
Nothing! Did not stay there left after opening the room door.
I checked in, went to my roon and then returned the key to the front desk and told them that I could not stay there. The bed spread had staines on it the carpet was tore up by the door and where it went for the tile to carpet by the restroom. There was a puddle of water on the floor under the hand wash sink. It also smelled very bad. I did even go all the way to the room. The is the worst room I have ever seen!! It does not even deserve 1/2 star.
Filthy room. Beds had a smell. I used one clorox wipe on all the surfaces in the room when we arrived and the wipe turned dark brown. Not worth the money.
It was close to everything that we had planned on doing during our visit
Carpet was torn up by front door door security was fallening off no coffee pot in room plus we had some cockroaches join us in the room I guess for the amount I paid what should I expect I would rate it as a class C hotel the pictures make it look better than it is
the room was big and comfortable, nice updated television, free wi-fi,
the carpet looked old and dirty, there was no guide for the television, and my trash was never emptied the whole time I was there
Truck load of young men arriving in evening with cases of beer, lodging next door. Woke up to woman shouting, her husband was on pavement outside of our door, paramedics could not revive him. I think he died. Shocking for my daughter, my husband and myself.
I arrived early and had requested the room I used on previous visits and it was not available. Instead I was given a suite at the same price. The staff was excellent, especially William , who made this happen. Thank you William.
no king size beds on ground floor
Noting. Not going back.
The door would not close completely. I then noticed that the building itself was structurally in bad change and the balcony looked like it was about to fall. It did not look safe. The did put a yellow tape to caution people. The air condition was extremely loud and then when it would turn off, the train would make too much noise. The breakfast was too simple. The bathroom items were cheap (soap, shampoo toilet paper...etc.
