Not professional, had to ask for basics, like toilet paper, refrigerator in room, quit working immediately, booked for 10 days, asked for remote for TV, never got, no blanket, waited 4 hours for room, no night stand, no reading, lamp, had booked and paid 5 months in advance, had to show credit card used, charged more than on site showed
close to some nice canyon hikes
bugs on bed sheets, messy outside surroundings, chemical powder everywhere to neutralize bed bugs, not clean or hygenic
The windows had no glass, and were covered with duct tape and cardboard. There were no blinds or curtains. There was no toilet paper or soap in the bathroom. Towels and bedding were old. The motel is located close to a railroad crossing, so the train whistle was heard numerous times throughout the night.
It was nice to have a bed. I liked the town.
No soap, and the smoke detector beeped all night, not even a lamp shade! A full sized fridge.... but no shelves...a bunch of furniture but no drawers...
It was dirty, clumps of dried mud on the floor, the grounds were full of tall weeds from last year, the building has not been maintained. The girl that looks does the "housekeeping" and books people in says the the owner very seldom shows his face, that some of the outside doors do not close or lock properly. She gets paid $2 for cleaning a room and has to pay rent in the unit she lives in. Honestly, it's not fit for dogs, let alone people. I'm just sorry I decided to book the place, but glad that, even though I needed a place to stay and it was already after 5PM, I refused to take it. I specified in the booking requests that I needed a quiet, CLEAN room. There was nothing even tidy about the two I was given to look at, let alone clean. I immediately contacted my credit card company with my complaint, they connected me with the owner and stayed on the line during our lengthy discussion. He finally consented to waive the inflated $50+ fee if I consented to pay a $10 cancellation fee (which, under the circumstances, I feel is absolutely unwarranted. The man, I believe is running a modified Ponzi scheme.
