This place is amazing. Cozy and romantic. Beautiful, really nice staff.
The bathroom was small . The restaurant was closed
This place is in a great location. The view out the window in the morning as the sun was rising over the mountains was great! We had to be out the door quickly in the morning to snowmobile, so we missed the full breakfast experience. But it smelled real good, and the menu sounded even better. We will definitely be back.
The inn had a great atmosphere with spectacular views. It was a little hard to get to with the snowstorm, but I'm sure it's easy enough any other time of the year. The owners were kind enough to switch our room after we mentioned our trouble with the fire as well. Overall, such a great time.
For the first night, our gas fireplace wasn't working.
It was very quiet and relaxing. The hostess was very nice and helped us out with some nice places to visit.
F Came back late and had a hard time looking for a glass of water and ice. First time at a B&B. Wasn't sure of etiquet
Great food and great service
Limited hours in restaurant; bar was closed too
We stayed in one of the suites, in a separate building from the main house, with a Jacuzzi and a fireplace. The décor was period, and was interesting given the history of the place as the cottage for the guests' servants. The restaurant dinner was fabulous (no wonder they have won awards), with a great view of the mountain valley. The imported duck had the depth of a good steak. They had an extensive wine list. They had handouts describing local drives that were really nice, especially in foliage season. Coffee and tea available all day long was nice. Staff was tremendously friendly and helpful.
The best view from our suite was from the bathroom window. The tub area had a picture window, but the positioning of the tub meant one person had their back to the view, and the other was far enough into the room that they couldn't see much view (but then you also didn't provide much view getting in or out of the tub). The bedroom and living room basically had no view. They were limited by the existing house design, so it's understandable, just a bit disappointing. I heard discussion of other suites that apparently were better. But there were patios and decks in the main building you could use. The gas fireplace came without instructions, and we had to call for assistance (which was immediate and very helpful). The décor felt a bit tired, and the period wallcoverings were a bit dark. Breakfast was OK, but not outstanding (especially compared to dinner). Despite these points, I'd still give it 4 out 5 stars, especially given the friendly staff.
Location is superb with the most amazing view from the breakfast table. The staff at breakfast and dinner were very attentive (sometimes too much so)
There was no hairdryer or telephone in the bedroom which was unusual for such a high class establishment. Our room was not serviced on the first day (bed unmade, bins not emptied etc) and was only cursorily done on the following day after we pointed this out.
breakfast was poor, rooms a horror architecturally, bed sunk in,housekeeping didn't bother to empty trash in bath room, staff was dressed messily.
The view from our room was so beautiful. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Beautiful outlook onto the White Mountain Range. Nice breakfast.
Evening dining experience disappointing. Doesn't seem to be staffed at night. Bad night sleep due to open door banging in the wind all night. Common areas required better cleaning.
pet friendly, location and view, breakfast
Small room size and location of bathtub and having a noisy AC in the room
Good location for White Mts and Franconia Notch.
Friendly staff, good food, good location, great overall experience.
Nothing to dislike.
The food was excellent and that was the highlight of our stay to be honest . We chose this hotel because we wanted some time in the countryside and it's location was ideal . It's a quirky hotel .
When we arrived there was no one on reception , Karen was busy helping someone in the bar area. This seemed to be the general pattern of things as it occurred , the person was never there to do their job , they were off doing 'other ' jobs . It had a feel of Fawlty Towers about the place , quirky very quirky . We had to indicate what time we'd be down for breakfast . After we'd managed to get a table other told to 'come back in 20 mins' because there were no more tables available . There was no TV in the room . The bathroom area was minute - there wasn't any room to swing a proverbial cat . There wasn't much choice of another restaurents. The only other nearest one was in Franconia . There was 1 there . That was it .
Great Location with wonderful View, traditional
Although booked with jakuzzi, got a Room with a shower only. Definitely needs renovation. At check-in we were promised top einübt experience which turned out to Be mediocre at best. Overpriced.
Service was friendly and with a smile. Allowed us to bring a meal to my room.
When we booked on line we were to have a balcony with a mountain view and king size beds. We did not receive this, but a one queen size bed and a very small bathroom and room. It was clean and a nice room. But what attracted us was the balcony and view. We were disapointed,
Mountain view is good.
When we first arrived, there was not a single towel in the room. I went downstairs to ask and they said they would bring the towels to our room in a few minutes. I waited for 20 minutes, but they still didn't show up. I had to go downstairs to ask again (my young child was very tired and needed to go to bed). Tv remote control did not have batteries. At dinner, the waiter did not bring us any utensils until we asked for them. But other guests who came after us got theirs. At breakfast, I took my son to bathroom. When we came back we found that our table had been cleared with our stuff gone! Later we were told the waitress put our stuff at the front desk! After all this, the hotel still charged me gratuities for these meals! I will never go back to this hotel.
The location is exceptionnal The breakfast is excellent The dinner is excellent to
The maintenance Inside The maintenance of the pool
Great view and surroundings.
The place it's a bit old and sometime it smells "funny". The rooms are clean enough but if you check the corners, it could be way better. Brown spots on the bed. When it's full, the rooms are a bit noisy. Gift shop a bit expensive ($16) for a mug it's quite expensive, usually any mug like that it's under $10 or euros. If your breakfast it's late, you may not find bread or orange juice. The breakfast it's fair, nothing spectacular.
spectacular view, friendly people, delicious food nice pool, attentative waitresses and waiters
not-so-clean room, unswept floor, dirty bedspread and pillow shams. No bathroom cups or Kleenex. No veranda for view, not enough lawn chairs outside. Shabby-seeming tavern as alternative to dining room. Not enough food choices in medium price range.
