size of the room, amenities, food
valet was slow
Almost all of it was fab, put off by being swarmed upon by the guys at the front door to park the car and put our wheelie cases on the trolley, etc.. No Ice machine- everything catered for by the staff who expect tipping.
Over attentive staff buzzing around you to assist, great if your looking for an ego boost. Not so good if you like doing things yourself.
Gym needs update
Everything bar wifi reception
Wifi reception was poor
The staff are all very nice , rooms are great , dining is fantastic and location is perfect for all attractions in Hollywood
Booked a junior suite but upon arrival, the room was not available because the carpet was ruined by a previous guest... We were put in a standard king the first night but upgraded to a full suite the remainder of our stay. Beautiful room, very gracious staff. The hotel is a little oasis of sophisticated clam amidst the buzz on Sunset Blvd.
Was not fully impressed by the size and layout of the standard king room/bathroom – recommend the junior suite or full suite. Had the continental breakfast included, mostly good food but was surprised to see that some of the fresh berries were old/moldy – kitchen needed better attention to this.
Staff were all very helpful and friendly
Lovely boutique hotel...updated "old Hollywood" glamour...chic and comfortable. Very pretty views of LA from my suite windows. Excellent service in general and Jacob at The Terrace restaurant/the pool was especially wonderful - very pleasant, attentive & professional service, he made sure I had everything I needed at breakfast and at the pool. I had a great experience at The Sunset Tower and I will certainly return in the future.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating!!, our room was beautiful. The hotel breakfast was wonderful! My teens said this was their favorite hotel of all vacations. The location cannot be beat to access all points of interest. Great restaurants just across the street. Enjoy!!
Everything Friendly service (Angel at the Terrace) Great rooms Perfect location
Amazing views from suite on 9th floor. Bedding was fabulous. Fantastic location Staff were lovely and friendly and treated you like a VIP but in no way pretentious. Lobster Tacos on the Terrace was simply fantastic. Prefer the intimate feeling of the hotel in comparison to other larger more commercial feeling 5 star hotels Would recommend to all my friends.
the pool area gets really slippy and some sharp edges which is a potential hazard, especially with young children but did not impact my enjoyment of staying there.
Clean towels and sheets Customized Cookies View of the city from the room Pool area and breakfast Art Deco furnishings
Room was very small and per the photo misrepresented. We like Art Deco design and decor, however the hall ways were too dark and a bit creepy for our taste. We didn't feel comfortable in the hall ways. The elevator was too small when you are traveling with luggage, just large enough for two people. The cost was too much for how the hotel was presented on the Booking.com site. We didn't mind spending the money but we didn't get our monies worth. The manager offered to upgrade our room due to the misrepresentation at a ridiculous rate! They claimed that the hotel was full but it wasn't, they just wanted to get more money from us and we said NO! Also neither Booking.com nor the hotel at check-in mentioned the daily expensive parking! We have traveled a lot and to very nice destinations, however we would not stay there again!
Personnel, the bed, the room (quiet & clean), the bath robes in the room, the small pool area, the breakfast...
We have nothing to complain about, this was a great stay in a great hotel!
Enjoyed the ambience of the historic hotel. Staff is exceptional. Comfortable room, good Internet, and continental breakfast.
The espresso maker is a joke. What's wrong with a good cup of coffee in the morning? Every average hotel furnishes a coffee maker these days.
The valet guys rocked. They were very helpful!
Room was a bit small.
Our hotel of choice for every visit to LA
Everything: Service, atmosphere, food, location. 10/10
Nice terrace and room
I got charge $7 for a small bottle if water...shame on them...leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth
The style of the place was so classy and the staff were really friendly and helpful - genuinely nice people.
The staff were very helpful and catered for our needs and was in a central location
This is our favorite hotel of all time. It is beautiful, comfortable, and well-located. We love the art deco restaurant and bar; Nespresso in your room and complimentary breakfast by the pool in the morning are huge treats. The hotel could not be more perfect.
We were disappointed that the restaurant was not able to accommodate our request for a table by the window and then forgot to find us half an hour after our reservation (we had come early for a pre-dinner drink)--a beautiful table, which was still empty when we left, was obviously being held for a celebrity. We ended up eating at the bar. The maître d' said he would make it up to us, but this seems to have been an empty promise.
Doesn't yet have an electric vehicle charger, but a public lot a few blocks away does have Blink.
The breakfast is spectacular -- boxes of fresh berries, beautifully packaged and delicious Greek yogurt, freshly baked goods, an omelet station, first rate lox, all served by the pool. The restaurant is also incredible for dinner -- both comfortable, chic and delicious. The beds are incredibly comfortable with excellent linens and pillows. Similarly, the bathroom has great Kiehl's products and the softest towels (and amazing bathrobes). The hotel truly recreates the feeling for the guest of being old Hollywood royalty.
