Management is beyond rude - it is amazing the difference between the staff's customer service and the assistant manager's poor attitude and lack of respect or even good manners. In the past year, I have booked at least 6 stays, if not more at this hotel. I overlooked the management's attempt to forbid my service dog and even their requirement that I provide a copy of my service dog's registration as a service dog (which is a violation of federal regulations governing disability and service animal laws). Too avoid other unpleasant encounters with management over my service animal, I went so far as to check in later in the day when management was not on duty. I have used the same debit card to reserve and pay for all of my stays at this hotel and have never incurred any charges for incidentals or damages (which the assistant manager and manager, who also own the facility refer to as incidentals). However, on my most recent, and last stay, at this facility, I was greeted by the manager with "You're the one with the service dog?' After replying yes, she said she was charging an additional !
$100 dollars to my fees. When I asked why, she said it was a deposit in case my dog damaged the property. I pointed out that in all of my previous stays, he had not caused any damage or problems; her response was that he might this time. I pointed out that charging me a deposit for a service animal was against the law. This was greeted with a less than welcoming demeanor and she changed her reason for the deposit. She said it was the hotel's policy for anyone using a debit card since they would not be able to charge the card for any incidentals or damages incurred. I replied that I had never been charged a deposit before and she insisted I had used another credit card - which I had not - then said it was the staff's fault for not following the policy. I then asked for the regional manager's contact information, which she refused to supply.
The mattresses are very comfortable. Honestly, the mattress, the quiet location, and the early evening staff are the only reasons I continued to stay at this hotel despite management's rude and unwelcoming demeanor and the declining state of the rest of the property. Most of the staff is very polite and eager to make the stay enjoyable.
