I appreciated the water saving suggestion
It smelled funny. Perhaps there were smoking rooms nearby. Or the cleaning products were not very "green" but the smell made me sense a lot
Bed comfort and staff friendliness
Everything was good.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable and I will be staying there again.
There was no pool but that didn`t really matter to me. I liked everything about this motel.
You can tell by the atmosphere that excellent care is put in this place. Of other Super 8s that I've stayed, this one is really Super.
I can't think of anything negative to say about this Super 8
Room was clean and comfortable. All the extra touches like snacks and bedding etc. Made it very welcoming. The owners really thought this out. Breakfast was good and simple. Bed was a bit too soft but better then too hard. I was just very surprised with the hotel overall. Something you wouldn't expect a super 8 to have. Would stay here again.
Bed was slightly too soft but would have been better if I selected a king over a queen.
For the price, this place is phenomenal. The king-sized room that they put us in was colorfully and stylishly appointed, and all of the furnishings seemed fairly new and clean. We had some trouble with the lock in our room, so they called a locksmith immediately and offered to move us to a nicer room for free. They dealt with the unexpected problems in a quick and friendly manner. There was a cute little basket of free snacks and gifts that we enjoyed. There's also a DVD player in every room, and they have a whole DVD library downstairs, which is nice. They also have plenty of books to borrow.
The original room that we were in didn't have any drawers in which to store clothing, but there was a closet with plenty of hangers, and there was shelving. The nicer room that we were moved to had a little wear and tear but was still very clean. Wi-fi goes in and out now and then, but it gets the job done. The breakfast nook with free breakfast is rather small for the number of guests staying here, and the staff isn't always on top of keeping the food supplies steadily replenished...but the breakfast itself is pretty good for a free breakfast! Waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal, etc.
The spa tub room was even more awesome than imagined! Really clean, huge bed, and a huge spa. The breakfast goes from 6 - 9 am and was delicious by hotel breakfast standards. They had everything! The room (and whole hotel) smelled really nice and clean, unlike some that smell moldy or like strong cleaning chemicals. The staff is welcoming and helpful, definitely much better than the rude service at other hotels. We will definitely be coming back!
That I couldn't stay another night haha, this place really is great!
The beds were extremely comfortable and the overall cleanliness of the facility was above average. We were also impressed with the choices on the completely breakfast buffy. We will definitely be back.
There are better hotels elsewhere but it's near the airport and no far from downtown. It's good overall
Except for one lady everybody at the front desk had a blah attitude.
Comfortable Bed Ceiling Fan Location Ease of entrance to 71 going into Austin Clean Friendly staff Entrance to rooms on inside
close to the airport. the staff was prepared for anything. extremely helpful with directions and seemed to have an answer to every question and concern.
Location, gift basket was very nice
No issues at all
Front desk was helpful
$183.00 for a room that I would expect to pay $70-80 for. The Omni in Austin only cost $230 and its well above the level of this super 8.
Free shuttle from/to the airport. Free snacks in the room. The room was clean and comfortable.
Not a big problem, but the sink/shower water, for some reason, was oily.
Amenities for the cost
Excellent firm bed
It was clean, the breakfast was adequate
Nice decorations and there was a swing!
Wifi performance was poor. Wired performance was better but the latency would often spike to 10x normal and stay there for several minutes.
The room was large.
The staff was rude (the Indian staff seemed kind of pissed off at everyone - yes, we also watched their interaction with others) and very confused at times - they could not get our room keys to work after trying 6 cards! They placed us in the wrong room the first night, one very poorly designed for handicapped people in wheelchairs (no cabinet space in bathroom, a 9' tall shower head with a bathtub with no bench, etc.). There were insects crawling in the rooms. The breakfast was extremely lacking - we questioned whether or not it was real eggs, sausage, etc. There was no soap dish on the sink. The bed was ok, but the pillows were simply too firm. Of the Super 8's in Austin we've stayed in, this was the worst. We will not be back.
We got there at 2:40 and were told we'd have to wait until 3:00 to be given the key. At 3:05 we went to get key but were told room was not ready and that they would call our name when ready. At 3:40 we went to desk and asked if room was ready and they couldn't locate the cleaning person to find out if room was ready. I think the room should have been ready by the 3:00 check in time. The cleaning staff was being defensive and argumentive with the front desk lady in full view and within earshot of us.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful!!
Size of room.
Bathroom had mold. Red plastic roses on hot tub. Breakfast buffet area was too small, couldn't push thru for food.
Dirty comforters, window didn't Lock, stains on chair, not as nice as reviews had stated!
Very, very clean! Rooms were good-sized.
Parking was limited. A little far from restaurants. Went to breakfast at 8:30 (breakfast was advertised until 9:00) and almost nothing left. Manager came in and berated a gentleman for putting a pat if butter in the waffle maker. She repeatedly told him how he was destroying a $500 piece of equipment, something that any sane person would know is ridiculous! She was rude and totally out of line to embarrass someone in the manner she did. Maybe she should have focused more on making sure the breakfast bar was maintained.
