The steep incline of the entry drive way.
Super 8 Austin Airport South is an excellent place to stay. The hotel is clean, fresh and well-lighted. They also pay attention to the little details - providing freshly-baked cookies, coffee and water in the lobby for guests.
From the moment we walked in the door, we felt valued and safe. The room was very clean and there were sweet details in the room. The breakfast was tasty and there was a dream coffee machine. We will always stay here when visiting Austin.
We were pleased in every way.
Rather small facility. Nice breakfast choices in an uncrowded space.
There was no bar or alcohol for sale
The room was clean and comfortable, and they had little extras one might expect for a little more expensive place.
We were there on a Sunday night, after an event in Austin. Because it was still part of the even weekend, the cost for the room was double it's normal price. All of the motels do it, so I can't complain about them alone, but we just needed a room close to the airport for the night. It seems overly opportunistic.
Everything was great!!!
The location was good. Room was clean upon arrival. Front desk check in was fast and efficient. Breakfast selection was excellent.
Our second day there, we were gone all day. Returned to room around 3 to rest, freshen up and go back out. Housekeeping didn't come to make up the room until after 5PM. By that time, 3 of us had to shower and get ready to go out. Therefore our beds were not made up, room not cleaned, dirty linen left from previous evening and morning. We settled for some fresh towels. Housekeeper did not speak any English at all therefore making communication impossible.
Not a very friendly staff
Good location, parking lot size, Internet works great, beds and pillows are great
Breakfast selection can be improved
I was charged $925.00 for two nights in a standard room. Ripoff. The first clerk was arrogant and obnoxious.
Great hotel. Comfortable beds, nice staff, free quality breakfast items, and great location. We stay here every time we hit Austin. We had the Texas Spa Suite last time we stayed and that was fun- big spa tub!
The room we had took a little long to cool off. Had a hard time figuring out the air conditioner/fan operation system. But once we got it working, it was okay.
1. Location was close to Expo Center 2. Rates were reasonable
1. Woke up at 3:30 am with pounding and yelling. Called the desk; they did talk to the people. 2. Poorly lit parking lot. 3. Glass in parking lot. Tall grass and stickers to walk my dogs, although charged daily pet fee.
Nearly everything. Made reservation for wrong week, evening clerk honoured rate for that night! Great exercise room and wi-fi, also.
Couldn't get internet access after biz center closed. Many of us do not travel w/computer; have been other places where internet could be accessed via keyboard & TV, which was great!
Reasonable price, fine public transport connection, free shuttle to the airport
General dodgy impression
Wifi was good and staff were very friendly.
On leaving learned that the shuttle bus was not available after 11am. This is not specified anywhere and we had to take a taxi. On arrival, shuttle bus was almost an hour late to pick us up despite the hotel being very near the airport. The room and bathroom are crowded with stuff. Toiletries were not replaced. Breakfast is minimal. For the same price I went to another hotel which was a major difference in location and service.
location, price, hallway smelled nice... Coffee and waffles were great.
The room smelled of smoke and it was humid. After being out and entering the room, the smell was still there... can't get beyond that, it was gross. The ceiling fan made a noise, couldn't use it. No conditioner in the bathroom, only the shampoo. Big large chair in the corner took up too much room and it had stains on it... yuck. Breakfast: bacon was not crispy, it was fatty and floppy. Sausage was more of parts is parts sausage, wasn't sure what I was eating.
Manager very rude. call my wife a liar.
I appreciated the water saving suggestion
It smelled funny. Perhaps there were smoking rooms nearby. Or the cleaning products were not very "green" but the smell made me sense a lot
Bed comfort and staff friendliness
Everything was good.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable and I will be staying there again.
There was no pool but that didn`t really matter to me. I liked everything about this motel.
Wi fi and location
They change the reservation to another super 8 which is cheaper than where i booked with same price
You can tell by the atmosphere that excellent care is put in this place. Of other Super 8s that I've stayed, this one is really Super.
I can't think of anything negative to say about this Super 8
Room was clean and comfortable. All the extra touches like snacks and bedding etc. Made it very welcoming. The owners really thought this out. Breakfast was good and simple. Bed was a bit too soft but better then too hard. I was just very surprised with the hotel overall. Something you wouldn't expect a super 8 to have. Would stay here again.
Bed was slightly too soft but would have been better if I selected a king over a queen.
For the price, this place is phenomenal. The king-sized room that they put us in was colorfully and stylishly appointed, and all of the furnishings seemed fairly new and clean. We had some trouble with the lock in our room, so they called a locksmith immediately and offered to move us to a nicer room for free. They dealt with the unexpected problems in a quick and friendly manner. There was a cute little basket of free snacks and gifts that we enjoyed. There's also a DVD player in every room, and they have a whole DVD library downstairs, which is nice. They also have plenty of books to borrow.
The original room that we were in didn't have any drawers in which to store clothing, but there was a closet with plenty of hangers, and there was shelving. The nicer room that we were moved to had a little wear and tear but was still very clean. Wi-fi goes in and out now and then, but it gets the job done. The breakfast nook with free breakfast is rather small for the number of guests staying here, and the staff isn't always on top of keeping the food supplies steadily replenished...but the breakfast itself is pretty good for a free breakfast! Waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal, etc.
