The rooms were, VERY small. Could hardly walk around in them and the rooms were dirty. We will not stay at this hotel again.
Ease and proximity to Caverns
I didn't expect the cost but realize it is tourist season. Very clean and quiet stay.
Beds were comfortable
Very old and hallways were dark and not clean. It definitely needs updating!
Rate too high. I called Motel directly and was told no rooms. Booked online and called her back. Asked why was I able to get room when I called you? She did not know what to say. I thought maybe they hold some rooms for people to book online. When we got there and found out there was not an elavator we told her we needed a first floor room. Boom. Done. Strange for a booked Motel. Then when we were leaving for dinner a man walked in to see if he could book a room. I could see her face and she waited for us to leave before she answered. When we returned his truck was parked. I guess he did get his room. I bet at a much lower price too. 150.00 for a Motel? Queen bed too. We stayed at Homewood Inn & Suites with a king bed, sitting area, full kitchen with dishes, stove top, microwave, dishwasher, big sink, and a full size refrigerator for 108.00. Wow!!!!!! Also free dinner and breakfast buffet. Free beer and wine at night.
Not food value for money.
Wifi was ok.
Terrible bathroom. Almost black towels . Disguisting. Used old and dirty carpet. Breakfast was a nightmare. Nothing to eat but waffle. Never again. Awfull deserted location.
Location was good for access to Carlsbad Caverns. Staff was nice.
A lot of oil/gas field workers stayed there. Some of them had annoying habit of propping open the entry door at the back of the motel, which is a security problem...anyone could walk in
Price and breakfast bar
It's a super-8, I don't get what some of the complaints are about. You're not exactly paying for luxury.
Clean and safe enough that i would go back. Pretty good place for kids had a nice pool and all fenced in for the traffic backs up to a nice apartment complex and hopefully with the two new hotels going up on the block the price with come down a price more in line with a super 8 and the less than adequate breakfast.
The price was way more then you should pay for a super 8 but so was the price for the Fairfield inn and the Hampton inn and the La Quintana and every other motel in town but like I said in the positive side I saw at least three new hotels going up so we will se if a trip to Carlsbad caverns will come down by next season. Also the breakfast was entirely sub par. Clean enough but two options and a broken toaster looks more like the break room at work the the continental breakfast that is advertised
The price for this room.
Very nice mattress and linens. Comfortable and super clean. The little fridge and microwave were convenient. The overall cleanliness of the room and bath were very good.
Not enough regular coffee for two people. There was only one packet. There's a need for water glasses or cups in bathroom.
The room was clean fresh and beds were comfortable.
The shower floor was cracked and would pinch your foot and was super slick. Other than this facility was amazing!
We couldn't get the wifi to work
Pool was pretty clean.
Tiles were broken in stairwell bad.
Nothing. For the price we paid the facilities should have been cleaner and more up to date.
Very poorly cleaned and out dated. They were painting with a very strong smelling paint and venting it to the hallways rather than the outside through windows. The price was Very expensive for this "roadside roach Motel".
It was located in Carlsbad.
The facility is very dated and in disrepair. The lobby and front desk are cluttered. The pool area is an afterthought. The stairwell flooring borders on unsafe. The A/C stunk.
location on south side of Carlsbad so easy to zip to caverns. Typical Super 8 Small outdoor pool ok.
The rooms were very cool in temperature, facilities were clean, refrigerator was clean. Loved having a fridge and microwave in room. I also have the place a call to see if we could check in before the 2pm check in time and they were able to accommodate us which was great. Nothing bad to say about any of the employees.
Only thing I didn't like was the wifi connection. It would work great in 10-15 minute spurts, but couldn't support the viewing of steaming video, even if shorter clips. Also, the toilet paper was very thin. Thankfully, we travel with TP.
I liked that I found the room cheaper online. Location was fairly quiet. Perfect for everything I needed to do while I was there. Staff was very nice. I didnt have any problems while I was there
There was an unusual smell throughout the hall and room. The rooms weren't the cleanest, but not inhabitable. There was food around the bottom of the bed, like hidden around that box that keeps your belongings from going under the bed. It looked like they didnt bother to sweep or clean under there regularly.
The towels and bathroom floor had long hair all over. We stayed in a room most near the stairwell and it was really disturbing Sunday morning when families started to leave at 5 am.
It was easy to get from the motel to the Carlsbad caverns.
Breakfast. For the amount they charged per night, they should do more.
Easy hook-up to the WiFi.
Cramped room with old furnishings. Spots on the bedspread. Very skimpy offerings for breakfast. Outside of the building is very unappealing---needs paint at the very least.
The location was good, and compared to other hotels, the price was good. The staff that welcomed us at check in were nice and friendly. The room was clean if a bit run down.
While straightening the shade, my traveling companion was electrically shocked by the nightstand lamp which blew the power in the room. The lady at the desk, when he took her the lamp, seemed unconcerned and didn't even ask for our room number. I had to go back a little while later and ask when our power would be turned back on. She then asked for the room number, and went to find "maintenance." We never had any apologies or follow-up on the incident. My companion was quite shaken by his near electrocution.
