There was a strong chemical smell in the room. We assumed it was some sort of a deodorant spray used in the room to mask odors. We were instructed to use the rear grassed area to facilitate our dogs needs. The back door used to reenter the facility was out of order so we had to walk around the front of the facility to reenter. As older travelers, we were uncomfortable having to walk around the entire building in the dark. Our room was rather noisy as we were located next to the elevators and stairwell. We became so uncomfortable in our room due to the noise an chemical odor, we checked out at 03:00. The night auditor told us that there would be a $20.00 charge per animal per night for our two dogs. We stated that according to their website and verified by a call to the property, the charge would only be $20.00 for both. After a bit of a "discussion" we left assuming that we would charged for both. To their credit , when the final bill posted to our account we were pleasantly surprised that we were only charged $20,00 for both. The only person able to adjust the bill, the manager, would not be available until 09:00. We did not care for the night auditors attitude, but we were also tired and frustrated upon our departure.
The daytime front desk staff was efficient, kind and very concerned with guest comfort. We were allowed to check-in very early in order to attend a crucial care meeting for an elderly relative. Our pets were welcomed without question. We were greeted with a smile and sincere concern. They were happy to work with our special request. The room was clean and all was in order. I would consider staying again if all charges are agreed upon upfront and the chemical odor is addressed. Overall our stay was pleasant and we like the location. There are many retail stores and places to eat in the area.
