The price was fair and the staff were available and helpful. The room was quiet and reasonably clean.
Due to motel renovations in nearly all areas, the environment was chaotic, unsightly and uncomfortable. We did not want to "linger" any longer than we needed to.
Feedback: Positive -- Great Location --- Close to Casino -- Beds were in good shape Negatives --- Issue with room when confirmed 6 weeks ago that I need 1 room on the first floor and 1 on the 2nd floor but issue when arriving --- Hotel lobby a mess and really not usable..in midst of big renovations -- Issue with noise from water pipes and they cannot find the issue --- Bathroom where clean but need major renovations ( 1970s) -- Lack of plugs in room -- lack of towels in room -- no Kleenex -- TVs from 90's -- limited storage for a double queen room -- rooms not well insulated (noisy) -- exits not equipped not to make noise -- no elevator Overall the place needs a major overhaul so for the money stay at the Holiday Inn Express across the street
Location to DE State Fair.
The room was mildewed and we could not breathe so we drove home and did not stay. They charged us half price for not staying! The room was prepaid as a gift to me but we had to pay when we arrived. Staff stated it was not paid for!!! Very rude! Never again!!!
My daughter and I needed a room after we attended a concert at the state fair. The location was perfect, in fact, in hindsight we probably should have walked to avoid the parking lines. The staff was very friendly.
Room was clean.
I am handicapped & requested an accessible room when I booked. Upon arrival, I was told they gave my room away. I was charged more then what I made reservations for. We were put in a room on the 2nd floor & they did not have an elevator. The desk person would not change the nightly charge nor would they refund the incidental deposit even though we didn't have any charges.
Courteous staff and maid service
Ice machine vented into the hallway, making the hallway uncomfortable hot, especially in the afternoon. When we arrived, the room was sweltering ...
The facilities were a mess due to repairs. There were dozens of bugs in my room on any given day, different types too so it wasn't just a little problem but a sign of something more systemic. The room was nice looking like it was newly renovated but the drawer was broken on the dresser, the headboard was secured with only a bolt in plaster, and the shower ran out of hot water. Lastly the room randomly smelled like cigarette smoke at times, most noticeable in the bathroom and no I do not smoke and was alone. The location is another issue, this is farther from Dover than you would think, and the cops are really bad in this town, lots of speed traps.
Harrington has enough there to keep you busy while killing time until you leave to do what you came for. The restaurant next door is open 24 hours and has good breakfast food at good prices. I believe the hotel is in the middle of a remodel, so it is trying to look better instead of giving up. The casino down the road is nice. We went for a few drinks, and happened upon some live music that was good.
The breakfast is nearly non-existent. But, may get better after the remodel is done. The lobby is where breakfast is, and is right in the middle of getting remodeled. There was a stale smell in the room which we cured with an air freshener.
All the employees were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was great for either the casino or going up to Dover Speedway. The restaurant next store was delicious.
It was just a small inconvenience but you had to climb stairs to the upper level of rooms. It's only one floor up so it wasn't that horrible.
The place was very run down and had a terrible odor. The beds were so uncomfortable both of our backs hurt.
I couldnt sleep in the bed it felt like something was crawling on me. Just lysol the room down paint it change linen shampoo floor and sanitize bathroom it will be excellent
The room was fine and it was clean. The front desk was very pleasant. Had a good stay. Would visit again.
Just a couple small things missing. We left suggestions at the front desk.
