All of the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The handyman was always available and allowed us to store our suitcases in the trailer until we returned from the city when we needed to switch rooms and extend our stay. He told us it didn't matter when we returned, and true to his word, we got back at 11 pm and he was still working hard and got our suitcases for us! The housekeeper found my camera battery and charger and brought it to my room to give it to me. The staff was very accommodating with our every need. The hotel was kept very clean and they constantly maintained it. They rehung some damaged wallpaper while we were there and made sure they stayed out of everybody's way! The breakfast was delicious (especially the waffles) and they had everything you could want. We were always able to find a seat. We could also bring the food to our room if we wanted to. The shuttle was very easy to use to go back and forth into the city. They came every couple of minutes in front of the hotel. Since it is a one way street, they dropped us off up the street from the hotel. The walk was short and we felt very safe. It was just myself and my 12 and 14 year old and I never felt uneasy. I am very pleased with this hotel and all of the staff!! I would definitely stay again! The bathroom smelled slightly like cigarette smoke but nothing unbearable. The shuttle was $3 a person each way which got a little pricey, but I knew that so it wasn't a surprise.

I liked that it was easy to get the bus straight outside the Super 8 into New York City, and was only 3 Dollars. The rooms were very clean as was the bathroom, the staff were friendly anything we asked they would do for us. The thing I would of liked in the Super 8 was a bar or a restaurant,so after being in the city all day you could come back and relax and have some food and a drink,

The location is very convenient for visiting Manhattan and the price of the room is very reasonable. The shuttle bus for downtown Manhattan stops outside the door and within one block coming back. Our room was nicely appointed- firm king sized bed, fresh linens, small fridge and microwave, desk, good heater. The included continental breakfast had lots of variety - cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, waffles, packaged pastries, coffee, tea, juice, etc. The dining area staff kept the breakfast well stocked, even in busy times. Parking is included. The location is close to a small shopping mall with movie theatres and within walking distance to other small independent shops in North Bergen. However, walking along the very busy highway outside of the hotel is not pleasant. The staff are very professional and helpful. The wi fi in our particular room was inconsistent. Sometimes we had to take our computer outside on the landing to get connected. The fridge froze and spoiled our food (apples) at minimum temperature level. We didn't use the fridge that much so we did not ask for another fridge but told the staff about it when we left. I was somewhat perturbed when we checked in to the hotel and we had to interact with the staff through a glass window like in a bus station. My impression was that we were in a high crime area where the staff had to be protected....what did that mean for us as guests? We were told that sometimes the staff are harassed by people walking by and also it was very noisy for them because of the highway within a few feet of the door. I did not feel unsafe at any time, even walking to and from the hotel at night but I was only there 6 days. I would prefer NOT to have to communicate with the staff through glass if possible if there are other ways to provided security or pleasant working conditions. The dining area is a section in front of the front desk and it is far too small for the number of people using it. The only place to sit was at some stools along one wall and a sofa in front of the front desk. People were bumping and dodging each other to get their food, which is spread along the wall opposite the stools. There is a sign directing guests not to take food to their room which is unreasonable considering there was minimal room to eat it.

Nothing, it was a horrible experience from check in to check out. The horrible staff, the filthy room, and how a bare foot, scary, rude man confronted me in the dark parking lot and said I had to switch rooms, he was later id as the manager!!! No TV, film and finger prints all over the glass mirrors. Black hair in the sink , shower and toilet. And the missing ceiling tiles that exposed the wiring.

Location Rooms in basement must have 24 hrs shades on the windows. In opposite, everybody walking outside, can see into your room. That's very bad...on Serbian: hotel je dobar samo da se prespava. Ispred hotela dolazi mini bus, koji vas vodi u centar New Yorka. Sobe su velike, komforne.

It was easy to access Manhattan from the hotel, there are dollar vans that operate frequently between Union City (where the hotel is located) and New York. Free wi-fi was another good thing about the hotel. The breakfast room is really small, at most 8 people can eat at a time and they all eat on bar seats. Also there are only a few items are served in breakfast. The only protein foods that you can consume there are (very hard boiled) eggs and milk. In addition, eggs were long waited so that their yolks were black. With lots of pastries, syrups, waffles and other sweets it is impossible to feel energetic during the day. You should start the day with protein foods so that you feel energetic and your whole day would be better. Another unpleasant thing about the hotel is that they dont care about you. I forgot something (a piece of paper) in the hotel and the same they I checked out from the hotel and flew from nyc, I wrote an email to them and asked if they can send a scan of the paper. They didnt reply at all.

Close to Manhattan. Cheap shuttle bus ($3 each way pp) picked up right outside. Free parking It was noisy from residents and cleaners. The room was very dark, the window looked onto a fire escape stair case and a wall. The toilet flush was very loud, I know that sounds like a strange complaint but if you heard it you'd understand. Also the bathroom door creaked very loudly when closing, and the fridge made a lot of noise. Overall it seemed quite shabby and run down

The rooms were fair and basic. The shuttle bus service to the city was great $30 per person per direction. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the bus and I don't think our return walk from the bus stop ever took more than 10 minutes. There was quite a bit of freeway noise; so much in fact we had to keep our window closed in order to sleep. We found the breakfast quite lacking, a small room with 8 stools pointing to a counter and frequently 15 - 25 people wanting to get their breakfast. The food was very plain, toast, donuts, hard boiled eggs and cereal made up the breakfast. The WiFi was horrible. I think they reset it daily. I ended up tethering to my phone. It was the only way to get consistent service. Don't stay here if you want quiet rooms, a good breakfast or decent WiFi.

Best offer we could find in price/quality relation in that period. From and to Porth Authorithy Gate 51 is about 20-30 travel for $3 per person. Than you can explore ny really easily. Breakfast is basic but for that price it's good to have it anyway. Clerks were rude. They should change their attitude towards customers. Eg. They simple forgott to order the taxi we discussed, for us for 4 am.

The room was very confortable. Breakfast was ok. Transportation is close and easy, NJ nr 125 or private fere shuttle just in front, 3 dollars one way. Supermarket and restaurants very close. Good If looking for alternative to expensive NYC. Takes only 20 minute by bus to times square. Some noise related to the road in front all night. We only had wifi out of the room.

Affordable, clean and comfy. Besides, Considering the rates that the hotels in Manhattan offer, this is the best choice. Location is superb once you check in the hotel. a bit far from JFK, but public transport provides the means you need to get to downtown. Not that complicated. You can also opt for private shuttle buses that take you directly to port authority where you can take the gate 51 bus to the hotel. That is the same minibus ( localy called shuttle- 3$) that you need to ride to and from the hotel everyday. Wake up early, take the 7.45 shuttle, you'll be in port authority in half an hour. Breakfast lounge is actually sharing the reception area- well almost. İf you are an early bird, you will avoid the crowd and therefore have a bar stool to lean on. Basic breakfast items such as french toast, bagels, fabricated butter and highfructose corn syrupped jam, boiled eggs, DİY waffles , juice are provided. İf you are not a breakfast person, it wont be a problem for you at all.

The bus to the city picked us up right in front of the motel. No (or very short) waiting. Quiet, even though it was very close to the main road. A sheet of directions are provided so you know which bus to take to get back 'home'. That was invaluable! Desk staff was abrupt. It was somewhat confusing to find the motel on the way back because you can't see it from the bus stop. Fortunately, the bus driver saw we were confused and pointed us in the right direction. Maybe a map on the direction sheet that was provided would cure this.

Room is ok. Clean. Location of hotel (not on, but close to Manhattan) is fine to us. Good and cheap connection to Times Square with express busses. We did like Union City. Friendly, relaxed village-like atmosphere. No tourists. Hotel facilities could be improved: - No computer facilities for clients - Breakfast room very small (only furnished with a bar-type table), overcrowded (seldom room enough to sit down) and not kept clean during the time that breakfast is served. - breakfast quality fair but could be improved e.g. providing fresh fruits, cream cheese, wholegrain bread and yoghurt (as provided in many other motels).

- Rooms are clean and confortable. - Estrategic location, 20 minutes from Manhantan, the buses stop at the hotel entrance to catch the people. Also it is very easy to take bus back from Manhantan to hotel (all driver knows the Super 8 Hotel and there are a lot of lines buses passing through the hotel). - The price is very high for a hotel like this, but I believe that in the New York and around it is the nomal. -Brekfast is good enough, but the place in the lobby to have breakfast is very small and desconfortable.
