The Hotel at Times Square  

I liked just about everything about The Hotel at Times Square. The room (although small) was clean and attractive. The continental breakfast was convenient. The staff (front desk, concierge, cleaning staff) were friendly.

The doors on the bathrooms (in the guest rooms) need to be solid. I traveled alone, but if I'd been there with someone I'd want more privacy than a frosted glass bathroom door could give.

Although the hotel was old, the room had recent furnishings and a modern bathroom. The hotel was clean, there was a free breakfast, and there was even a little bar with a happy hour. Best of all it was 5 minutes from shopping on 5th avenue or Times Square.

On leaving, I asked the front desk if they could get me cab. They said cabs go by all the time. After trying 2-3 minutes to get a cab in front of the hotel, we walked to 5th avenue to get the cab.

Room was somewhat unclean, absolutely zero ventilation, The room was hot at night, but also very stuffy after a shower because there was no way to get steam out of the bathroom or room. Staff wasn't particularly rude but definitely did not want to say more than a few words at a time to us (they simply handed us our key and told us the room number with no more information). I feel like for the price that we were paying, it was not really worth it. If I were paying half as much, I'd say that it was worth it. Plus, we got a good deal with Booking.com; I definitely wouldn't want to pay full price for this hotel.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast while nothing gourmet was definitely convenient and handy. We also liked the complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby.

The location is fabulous. The hotel is about a five minute walk from Times Sq but it on a quiet (by NYC standards) side street so you can be in the the thick of things one minute and away from it all the next. The hotel was clean throughout, the room was lovely and well appointed. The staff are friendly and helpful and very accommodating. The description on the website is spot on.

The only minor issue is that the breakfast room, although airy and spacious can get crowded. I would imagine if there was more than 2 travelling together it might be difficult to sit together at breakfast.

I liked how close it was to Times Square

The room was too hot, the air conditioning was far too loud to have it on at night. There was no fan in the bathroom so it was like a sauna after a shower. Guests in the same corridor were constantly slamming doors, we mentioned it to reception but made no difference. We had a issue with the toilet and had to report it 3 times before anyone looked at it.

Location was great for Times Square and MSG, plus other attractions. Liked the hot chocolate available since it was cold and rainy while we visited NYC.

The continental breakfast, while adequate could have been better. Would have preferred muffins to donuts, and missed having cold water to drink.

The location was excellent as was the cleanliness.

The New York nightly exorbitant tax. The room I was given first on arrival. It was dark, creepy and unsuitable considering the amount I was paying.

The room was clean and well organized. You never saw the cleaning staff. Quiet and comfortable! One and a half blocks from Times Square!

Excellent location, clean and tidy hotel convenient exit to visit the city in a comfortable and well equipped.

Breakfast is very basic and can be improved.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, comfortable except for the location of the TV. Entire hotel was well managed. We had a great stay.

The rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed the self-serve coffee station. The lounge area was relaxing with Internet and hookups. The availability of guest computers w/printers were also a welcome feature.

The only complaint, more inconvenience was the elevators. We were on 10the floor...elevators were slow and the 2 elevators were no synchronous.

free wifi.,maid was helpful.free tea and coffee.the day of departure was very wet and very hard to get a taxi,the receptionist was very helpful in getting me in contact with my taxi driver and because of that, we arrived in time to the airport.
