the fronyt desk guy was beig really rude and didnt want us to saty there. so we went to another hotel whitch took a long time. bad customer service.
We like the location and the price. It is small, but clean and since we were working all day it was sufficient to get the job done.
The location is not the best part of town, but we didn't notice until the 3rd day. The smell of cigarette and other smells in the lobby weren't great.
Location. That's is all it has going for it. And inexpensive. Other area hotels were tripling their rates during a convention period so a decent room would have been 4 to 5 times more expensive.
Kind of run down. Curtains and carpets dingy. Bathroom tiles need a good re-grouting. Breakfast choices were pretty meager.
Nice staff. Great value!
The hotel is close to trolley, rail and bus lines as well as shopping and restaurants. The room was great - comfy bed, closet, good TV and big bath. Standard cont. breakfast with good, hot coffee.
Used the A/C a bit and the machine is noisy but works. We were on 5th floor on street side and it was noisy. Yes, there is a lot of homeless in the area but if you stay in the Hilton on the next block they will still be there.
The hotel is in a great location, the price was great and the room is good. Staff was very helpful
The hotel lobby and interior halls are a bit worn and dated. (But "so what?" Especially given the location and price.) And the neighborhood is a bit gritty, with lots of panhandlers and homeless people. But that's not the fault of the hotel. And the Hilton is immediately across the street, so it has the same "neighborhood" issues as the Super 8.
Great location for what I wanted. I prefer older hotels and this one fit the bill. Rooms are cozy and comfortable.
Location is so close to all the shops, restaurant and a parking garage nearby.
Ummm lobby not appealing and scary elevator ride.
excellent location, wifi is easy to connect.
facilities quite old.
The location is pretty good. Most everything that you'd want to visit, like shopping outlets and restaurants, are within a few minutes on foot. The room that I was in, although a bit small, was comfortable.
Because I was on business travel, I didn't like that there wasn't an iron and ironing board in the room to press my clothes. There was an iron downstairs, but I had to go down to get it.
This hotel is in the Tenderloin district, right next door to a hostel. Upon our arrival, a homeless woman had her bags, clothes, and box blocking the lobby elevator. When the front desk attendant asked to move her stuff, she replied that he should "throw her stuff out on the street." Walking down the street (away from Powell) we saw drug deals. The hotel claims to have a shuttle to and from the airport- what they fail to mention is that the shuttle is not free, instead it is $17 each way. Book a shuttle through super shuttle or use über for the same price and better service. The bedding and bathroom were gross. Certain parts of the room were "re-modeled" as advertised, including the bathroom sink and lamps... This did not make up for the entire room smelling like a toilet, old carpet, and creepy closet... Not as pictured on booking.com.
People working there was nice and helpful
Needs some changes to look better. Maybe changing old carpets on the floor and shining the reception area a little.
The Staff is very helpful! and correct. The location was perfect and made the hole city walkable in Combination with perfect 3- day Uni-pass.
the aircondition worked but was too noisy so we had to shut it down. In late oktober we could stand it .........
Great location with regard to transit access and proximity to Union Square
The elevator was absurdly slow
The room I was given was HUGE. It had a nice television (with satellite), the bathroom had been updated, and the bed was comfortable. Location was just a few blocks from Union Square, and a quick 5 minute walk.
The elevator was bumpy and scary, the lobby smelled like bug spray. The carpets were a little uneven and the cleanliness of the carpets a little questionable. The price of any hotel was expensive because of the location, so it seemed a lot for what you got.
Good location near Union Square. Nice, big and well equipped room. Breakfast included although the food is not much to mention.
Squeaky floors so hope for late waker in the room above you.
Location. Clean linen and towels everyday. Comfortable bed.
Decor needs updating. Room size not large enough for couple with luggage.
The only really nice thing in this hotel is the proximity to the Union Square. Staff is helpful and friendly and the valet parking is reasonably priced.
Hotel a bit rundown. Standard room too small, to the point that in our room they had installed in the shower room hangers to hang our clothes. Towels not always really clean. The air-condition unit was terribly noisy. If you are unlucky to get a room next to the wash machine or the vent /ice cube machine, noise is even worse. The entrance of the hostel next door looks more decent than the entrance to this hotel. When we asked for a better room we were offered a junior suite. If you must stay in that hotel ask for a suite, for some extra dollars it can make the accommodation slightly more pleasant and silent. However, I am sure there are better hotels for similar price out there.
The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The wifi was really terrible!
Everything except the homeless are everywhere in the area
The homeless, drug users and other 'odd' people are everywhere! The pavements are filthy and the smell and sights are frightening ....its a pity as this hotel is really nice
Cheap and centrally located, free breakfast. Semi friendly staff they did switch me rooms when I asked for a "better view". Served its purpose, good place if you're only gonna stay.in to sleep which is what we.did since we were out all day.
Our first room was facing a wall down the alley. We were.right directly in front of the breakfast room which was very.loud.starting at 7am paper.thin walls. Smelled old, bring air freshner if you're sensitive to funky smells.
room was super small, And the floor had a noticeable slant witch was kind of funny. There was an effort to remodel the room, But whoever they hired should of been fired and sued! Terrible job from the paint job to the grout in the bathroom and the bathroom window did not lock witch was scary. We stayed 2nites and it was an adventure
there were too many bed bugs. My entire body was itchy for the time I stayed there. The owners need to do something about the bed bugs and sanitize the place.
The location was convenient.
The hotel was a little run down, the rooms were very small and the breakfast was very average. We were given a room directly above a restaurant which had music playing until about 2.00am, so were unable to sleep. We requested another room, which was a lot better but very small.
Location was good, The room was cleaned well by the maids
Small rooms poor breakfast variety generally needs renovating
