The rooms were incredibly spacious for nyc, and it was nice to have 2 queen beds, as oppose to 2 double beds. Beds/bedding were very comfortable. Bathroom space and closet space was also large which is great when you have children in the room. The food in the restaurant was amazing!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Surrey. Our room was enormous with two queen beds which were very comfortable, the beds were turned down each night with water and madeline biscuits and we loved the view from our hotel room over the roofs of the houses and apartments in upper east sides and in some case into the beautiful houses and apartments. The location is brilliant we used to exercise around Central Park each morning and all the shops on Madison Avenue. The staff at The Surrey were exceptional they provided fantastic service, nothing was too much and because there are only 109 rooms in the hotel it had a boutique hotel feel to it and the front desk staff knew us. Michael the concierge was fantastic his recommendations were brilliant and he offered great advice. The roof terrace was a little bit of paradise in Manhattan and we enjoyed pre dinner drinks there. It was so peaceful. The morning tea and coffee station set up in the lobby was a great touch. We have no hesitation recommending The Surrey to our friends and family and look forward to returning ourselves in the not too distant future. Thank you Only the addition of free wifi to hotel guests.

my room and view were both outstanding, and i counldn't have hoped for anything nicer. i had no idea that they would hole $200/night for "incidentals" and there isn;t any way around this if you have no interest in using in-room dining services.additionally, while the room upgrade was exceptional, i did not request it, did not know it had been given to me, and ended up paying for that as well.

I thought the room was quite large and nicely decorated. The maid service was excellent. The breakfast service was quite slow, the buffet was not very interesting and the staff did not replenish it promptly so that there were empty containers. The dining room was only maybe a quarter full so it wasn't because there were too busy.

The Surrey is so different from the faceless, souless, corporate identity Chain Hotels and whilst you pay top $ prices, the prices are fair for the quality and standard of this Hotel. The full cost of the room was deducted from my Debit card at the time of Booking so effictively I paid 12 weeks in advance.
