Score from 3571 reviews Good
No coffee available in bar or roof top terrace.
Rooftop garden is spectacular, rooms are beautiful, staff are great.
Beautiful hotel with good service, breakfast was excellent. Location is incredible close to Central Park.
The staff were fantastic. They were friendly and very helpful. Michael the concierge gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and made the bookings for us.
The cost of beverages- both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - generally was a bit over the top
Staff and hotel overall were excellent-very friendly and helpful.Great location also
Location is excellent. Nice room decoration.
Poor attitude of staff except chief concierge. Guest service hardly picks up the phone F&B overpriced based on such poor quality... 49 USD net for 2 latte.... Poorly served cold in a room covered by a cling film !!! No value for money. Observed and discussed with other guests who share the same feeling!
The stay was impeccable. The staff was perfect in every aspect. It was a stay without any flaws.
A beautiful, luxurious hotel, with friendly staff, excellent facilities and exquisite food. We celebrated our 10th anniversary in New York and stayed at the Surrey following a recommendation. I would definitely revisit and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.
Wifi should be included. Most hotels these days that are far less superior provide this at standard room rate. The rates for purchasing wifi at hotel are extortionate.
Great staff who helped us with many things. Great location right next to the park. The rooftop bar was amazing. Just everything was great.
The price is a little steep, but for a short stay, it's worth it.
I love this place
No free wifi in rooms!
Great service Great location Bed very comfortable Nice toiletries
Rooms were quite small for the price
The Surrey is a great location for exploring the Upper East Side, including The Met and Central Park. It's a little touch of glamour and the rooms are extremely comfortable.
I liked it all!
close to central park comfortable
no coffee machine or cattle in the room expensive
no coffee and tea maker in rooms so you have to pay more than 20$ for only 3 cups of tea and black coffee !!
The decor is elegant and chic yet cozy. Wonderful location, just one block from Central Park. Very friendly, helpful staff. And don't miss the roof top bar! It's for guest only and during my last stay it had just reopened for the summer season. All the staff kept reminding me to go take a look. My mom & I went up before dinner. It was a little windy and chilly and the wait staff brought us blankets, which was a lovely touch. The views are beautiful! I really love this small, boutique hotel!
No coffee maker in the room.
Had to change rooms. First room did not have much storage for clothes and bathroom was handicapped making it difficult to use the bsth tub.
Small but comfortable
Rooms are a little bit noisy.
Location. Friendly staff who know me by name. Great sized bedrooms for New York. Never feels crowded.
no coffee in room no free internet for the cost of the room? come on!
they charged wifi usage!! just like charging for warm water at this point!!
Excellent pre stay communication and attention to individual needs, professional and pleasant staff, beautifully appointed room with highest quality linens and comfortable beds. Except for some nearby rooftop construction in the morning, it was a very quiet room. It is an elegant special occasion hotel.
There was nothing not to like.
The standard of the room was very good and all staff were friendly and helpful.
We booked for bed and breakfast however breakfast only equated to an allowance of $22 per person and didn't include tax or the service charge of 20% (non-discretionary)
The room size was nice. Staff were amazing and bed was very very comfortable
For the cost of the stay would have liked free breakfast or wifi something. Didn't like that they wanted to hold almost a $1000 for "incidentals" that is a lot of money. Was further from sites then I had originally thought but having the park right next to us made up for it.
Staff were fabulous, it's so close to Central Park but out of the main tourist hot spots. Great location for the arts. Easy access to public transport. The hotel is glorious, the beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms are modern clean and well stocked . The shower pressure was fantastic. The various room light settings were a streak of genius! We make this our number one hotel on NYC and have returned 3 times, which says it all!
No complimentary internet in rooms - this is archaic in this day and age, particularly at the price of hotel. The breakfasts were only ok. I wish we could get decent French/Italian quality of coffee. And why can't Americans make a decent cuppa ???? Yorkshire Gold is a good place to start and make sure the tea is made with water on a rolling boil! Simples!!!
Beautiful hotel with the best showers I've ever used and the most comfortable bed I've slept in. Coco and the other doormen were great, always available for advice or help. A very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay here again.
The set $7 room service charge even on a pot of tea. With tax and service charge it doubled in price!! Concierge sent us to the wrong restaurant on our last night but where we ended up was great and had a fab evening there.
