Clean and comfortable room, helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was good, if limited in selection and offered in an unattractive room. Price ($160/night plus tax) seemed high for what was offered. Location appeared sleazy (and a bit scary at night).

Good value for San Francisco and good location. Noisy street (ask for a room behind with no view) and bad isolation in the room.

Very nice hotel in the heart of the city, and surprisingly quiet given its location near the intersection of Broadway and Columbus (ask for a room at the back of the hotel, not on the Broadway side). The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is no-frills, but it is quiet and comfortable and conveniently located. I will definitely stay there again when I am in San Francisco.

As a Chinese guy, I liked the Chinese-style furniture they have. The location is not bad. It is in Chinatown, so if you plan on a visit to Chinatown it'll be convenient. Fisherman's Wharf is also within walking distance. If you want to stay closer to the wharf then you need to spend much more. It is in Chinatown, so the surroundings weren't quite pleasant: it's a little messy & noisy outside. Luckily we heard no noise in the room, but I guess some of the rooms facing the street might have that problem. My queen room didn't look quite as nice and spacious as the pictures on the website, but it was not bad after all. I guess you can't have much high expectation given the relatively low price.

The Hotel was ideally situated between piers and city centre on the edge of Chinatown, staff were really friendly and very helpful, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. Could've done with tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Excellent location right 'on top' of Chinatown. Lots of public transport options nearby and many attractions are within walking distance. Our room did not have outside noise but there was a low buzzing in the room. When we asked about it, a staff member came up to try to solve it. He could not immediatly do anything about it. But he came prepared and had a key to another room with him so we could have a look at it. The new room was completely quiet. The rooms itself were simple in furniture but had a good bed and shower. We would definitly stay there again.

The location is Excellent. SW hotel is at the edge of China Town, within a walking distance from Union Square, Fisherman's wharf, Coit Tower and there are a lot of nice restaurants & bars across the street. Hotel was clean and it has a private parking for hotel guests with 30USD/night

The location & price were great. Rooms are not very big and there was limited space to put clothing. For a few days it was fine. Plenty of places to eat around.

Located inbetween Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf. Good access to bus transit so getting places was easy. Hotel and room are clean and looks renovated. I'm picky about the state and cleanliness of the bathrooms and this one was good, no black spots of any kind. Included a good basic breakfast which was good enough to get you out the door, save the space in the tummy for the seafood restaurants. Front desk staff were very friendly. Good value. Rooms on the small side, no in room kettle or coffee machine. I didn't ask if they had one I could use as I used it like a base camp so for the price it was a bargain. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room since I was out sightseeing most of the time so no biggie.

The location was perfect for a visit to the North Beach/ China Town neighborhoods as its literally right between the two. Had Dim Sum or Chinese porridge for breakfast and top notch Italian for dinner. Easy to get to other parts of town as well. Will definitely stay here again. There is a continental breakfast room with the basic necessities...coffee, juice, bready things, and cereal. Can't think of anything, really. Room was pretty quiet and had no problem sleeping.

“I like small hotels and this one was great. On arrival I was able to upgrade to a larger room without fuss. I liked the wine and cheese happy hour on the mezzanine in the evening, and the complimentary breakfast was a bonus. The Millennium restaurant downstairs was superb.” Phil, South Yarra |
