Internet connectivity is superb! The price is really a bargain, and the staff (Bruce?) is really affable and kind-hearted.

There is no desk or anywhere I can use my laptop comfortably. The TV in my room (108) is not working.

In choosing the Sweden House Hotel I went on all the review sites and found many negative ratings for this hotel.I Decided to try it for my self. The reviews may not be current and I heard they remodelled the hotel after many of the reviews were posted. For many years in the 70's I worked at the Fairmount Hotel in San Francisco. Since then I have stayed at over 50 San Francisco hotels from one star to five star hotels. This is not the Fairmont. But its not $300 or more a night either. This is a former rooming house with shared rest rooms down the hall. If this doesn't bother you then stay here. Luis the manager was great. The tv was excellent--Comcast Cable. The shower was the best I have ever seen in a budget hotel. The room was the size of a walk in closet but so was my hotel bill. I stayed 3 days over Christmas for $122.00!! The back packer hotels with dorm rooms would have cost more. A single guy who wants to save money and be a couple of blocks from Union Square can centainly "ruff it" at the Sweden House and have plenty of money to eat at some of San Francisco's finest restaurants. Did I mention no room service either..just terrific savings. Plus theres a garage right next door for just $20.00 a day with "in and out" privilages.

This is not a hotel to take the wife or girl friend on a "romantic weekend". A solo male traveler will appreciate the savings and not mind the lack of amenities.

Had a room that was quiet. The staff Luis and esp. Bruce were great!

It was right in downtown, however the neigborhood in front/in the street was depressing! The room was a smelly and also a bit depressing. Just felt "poor".

No curtains at the window and the room looked out onto a brick wall. The whole hotel didn't smell clean. ie, the bedding and room smelt I dont feel it was washed, the pillow was flat and lumpy.

It was close to Union Square, but the area is disgusting.

The facilities were unclean, unsanitary, and unsafe. It's incredibly irresponsible of Booking.com to list this as a hotel. It's not a hotel. Many transient people live here. It's a functioning crack house. It wreaks of drugs, sweat, and sewage.

Better than sleeping on the street

I seen the hotel owner/employee? Once when I checked in. There is no front desk. No private showers or bathrooms, filthy showers (never seen any kind of cleaning person). The bed wasnt more than a cot,room smelled. I had to park 3 blocks away and walk through a gauntlet of homeless people going to and from the garage at all hours of the day and night.

Sinceramente, não gostei de nada, só o wi-fi que é gratuito.

Não gostei da região, esta rua e as outras que descem ate a Market Street, são perigosas e cheias de drogados, no corredor do Hotel cheira maconha, as pessoas na rua dão medo, a portaria não fica aberta 24 horas, é só uma chave por quarto, e não tem campainha para chamar o apartamento quem tiver na rua, tem poucos banheiros. Deixa para sua ultima opção, ja a rua de cima os hoteis são melhores.

sa situation géographique à 15 mn à pied de la grande station Powel

La rue dans laquelle il est situé est celle entre la station Powel et l'hotel est envahie de ' zonards ' qui interpelent et je peux vous dire que je ne rentrais pas à l'hotel apres 20h . La chambre etait tres petite ( rien pour poser ma valise sinon au sol ) ; aucune rénovation depuis 50 ans ! la table de 50x50 cm pas propre ; le four micro-onde posé au sol car le fil trop court ; les wc qui ne ferment pas etc..etc ..limite insalubre! cela ne ressemble en rien avec ce qui est présenté sur internet . J'ai fait 4 photos si vous voulez les voir je peux vous les envoyer , elles sont édifiantes . Arrivant de Las-Vegas ou la chambre était 3 fois plus grande et 3 fois moins chere , quelle surprise .

Está en una zona de pésimo ambiente, sobre todo por la noche. No hay personal de recepción ni arreglan las habitaciones. Colchón de muelles muy incómodo, apenas podía dormirse. Pésima relación calidad-precio

Lo unico su ubicacion cerca del Downtown y Market street. Aunque la zona en la esta "Terderloin" no es nada atractiva.

En general no me ha gustado nada. Cuando entre en la habitacion lo primero que pedi es que me cambiaran las sabanas porque estaban usadas y sucias. Olia mal, tuve que comprar un ambientador para que fuera mas agradable el olor. El Wi Fi, tan necesario en otro continente, funcionaba a ratos. En esa zona, tenderloin, hay muchos sin techo que viven en esas calles y que se dedican a la venta de crack. Una noche fui agredido por una persona en la misma puerta del hotel. Todo esta muy sucio, nunca vi a nadie limpiar nada. Solo los banos que son compartidos, menos mal. No se lo recomiendo a nadie. De hecho lo unico que me trae malos recuerdos de San Francisco es el hotel. La ciudad es increible.

near down town, shower and restrooms on 1st foor are renovated, same street as the hilton but... You can afford a room or yourself, ideal for backpackers who are sick of hostels and dorms.

furniture rather old and used. in the tenderloin quarter with a lot of homeless people. In the night I recommend to walk along geary street.

La propreté: La chambre était très sale! Des draps au mur, au sol! Tout est sale!! De plus, quand on va aux toilettes impossible de fermer la porte! De plus une odeur constante de cigarettes (joint) dans les couloirs. Equipement: Le réfrigérateur ne tenait absolument pas les aliments au frais. Télévision qui ne fonctionne pas ou une fois sur trois! Quartier: Certes, ce n'est pas la faute de l'hôtel, mais il faut quand même noter que le quartier n'est vraiment pas idéal! Je n'étais vraiment pas en sécurité quand je rentrais à l'hôtel (généralement avant 20h). Je ne recommande absolument pas cet hôtel! De plus, sa description sur le site ne correspond en rien à la réalité!!

Het hotel is erg centraal gelegen. Je kunt vanaf dat punt veel van de stad te voet bereiken.

Het is een vies en stinkend verblijf. Het is centraal gelegen, maar in dit deel van de straat erg veel zwervers en verslaafden. Ik kreeg de indruk dat het hotel ook als opvanghuis dienst deed. Ik voelde me er onveilig. Op de gang hingen briefjes dat je bij onraad de politie moest bellen, wat de indruk deed wekken dat het er rommelt. Het was er ook gehorig, al was dat met een paar oordoppen te verhelpen. Gezien de kwaliteit van het verblijf, vond ik het niet eens zo goedkoop... Mijn advies: zoek nog even verder!
