our trip was off to a great start when the staff double charged my credit card, leaving us without $600 and no money for four days, made better by their complete lack of concern or effort to provide us with facilities or food following their mistake. We then found a live mouse in our room and were forced to ask for a room change as they were not forthcoming. The wifi was dodgy, the neighborhood didn't feel safe for a female even with my boyfriend with me, and the smell of weed was constant. the one towel they provided was filthy and we had to plunge our own sink after it was completely clogged from filth. We should have in fact been paid by the hotel as we became maintenance staff, pest control and cleaners of our room, because they did absolutely nothing. The majority of the staff were also surly and unhelpful. Sure it was cheap, but for how much it cost we at least expected cleanliness and competence.
close to union square and restaurants
Dirty needles in community bathroom, street people coming in and out during the night arguing and no sound insulation.
Cost. Room was clean.
Dirty sheets full of stains and blood

It's a bad hostel. I did the reservation, but when I arrivied, was impossible stay during my reservation because the hoste did not!! I don't recommend this hostel!
The lock on the door broke the first night; staff fixed the following morning. Loud neighbours raising hell in the hallway; especially those who did not live at the property.
Central location, very good value.
The bathrooms were almost always closed.
The hotel was conveniently placed near other places of intrest.
The cleaning staff never came, had to ask for clean sheets when I checked in and had them for 10 days!
This is a historic building
Well..lack of basic kitchen facilities. The shower had strong water force so everytime yadavsmita brake a shower, the water would just force out of the door. That is all I think.
The staff person that I checked in at night was helpful even though I came at midnight. It was my mistake as I didn't know what to ask and how to get what and I landed up with a bad room but immediately upon complaint he shifted me to a nicer room with a. Microwave that helped me in my tea time. I had not initially read the reviews and just booked it and then later when I read but still had not checked in, I was already quiet nervous. But was pleasantly surprised that it was not bad at all. The location is really central and close to Ferry building (with bike) and yiu get a really nice view of the town. The other tenants also seemed to be quiet helpful but we're staying there for quiet a while. I was able to go early morning and come late so don't have much to say guess accept that I will definitely recommend this place. Just don't check in at midnight or else y might feel short changed.
People! 2,5/10 is the least amount of points we can give! Rude, clueless and unprofessional staff. No clean sheets or towels. Insanitary. Bugs in the room. Mild on the mattresses. No locks on doors in common facilities. Gooey stuff on the floor. Lots of noise. Can it really be that bad? YES IT CAN. By the time we got there at night time the manager/whatever he was (he was most definately high) told us (after a long time of babbling on about how none of this was his fault and bla bla) that he only had a single bed for the two of us. Thinking that it was late, we were tired, and had no where else to go, and that one of us could maybe sleep on the floor with some extra sheets or towels, we decided to spend the night. He also promised us a double bedroom the day after, however reluctantly talking about a refund. None of us got much sleep, with bug bites, noise from the street and other people at the hotel. There were no clean towels for us and we only got a spare duvet with no cover. The next day we went to ask if we could have a double bed room. New guy did not know anything and would not promise anything, and expected us to wait for his boss whom he did not know when would arrive. It took way too much of our last day waiting for her, getting our refund, and worrying if we would have a place to stay the night. However, we got a double bed room the last night, however still insanitary, noisy and with more bug bites. NEVER AGAIN!
Well, there was a bed in a room.
Stay here only if you want a bed to sleep in. Don't excpet a private bathroom or cleaness.
the room was dirty on the flour and olso towel wasnt that clean, the toilet cant be closed so the dor is open while you are inside
only the wifi was good
If you're looking for an affordable place this is it. They don't seem to have a complete grasp of their computer system. The travel agency site seems to overbook the place. The gentleman who helped me was arrsident in the building, he was very kind and informative. I was very happy to have his help
anything not included in what I liked!! The management was most unprofessional and rude.
the house keeping lady was very nice. I wasn't there long.
I gave them a good rating on cleanliness because the staff cleaned often not because it stayed clean. And one of the two child sized twin beds(in my room that was supposed to have a double?) was broken. Linens were clean but very old and stained. There was no way to sweep my own floor since they do not service the rooms if you stay there for more than a night.and 10 days of unswept floor is not how I like to live.
Cheap. Central location. Despite hearing my neighbors and what they were doing a lot they kept it pretty low volume.
Didnt have a tv.I. brought my laptop.
I was pleased at the price.it was quite.NO BEDBUGS.Mattress was new. I will go there again.
I was supposed to have a bedroom with 2 beds & when i arrived they told me they had no rooms with 2 beds. Which is false advertisement. They also said there was no cancellaction fee which is also false advertisement
I liked nothing about this place
there is nothing to like about this hotel, overpriced, bad neighborhood, and awful staff. Rooms were tiny and not clean and I found a bed bug on the pillow.
nothing. management cussed me out and threatened me.
My sink was clogged when I checked in, luckily the one staff member changed my room. The bathrooms on the 2nd floor were nasty, one toilet was constantly out of order and toilet paper dispensers were never refilled. Had to get my own tp or use bathrooms downstairs. Sink was really small in room, which was brand new, along with new floors and a viewless window but room could've used a new paint job. Furniture looked like it was from Salvation Army. But for the price, who could beat that?
I lived in a "chambre de bonne" as a student in Paris many years ago, my room at Sweden House reminded me of that: old, full of character, just a small sink in the room, shared bathroom in hallway, thin walls and a shared shower.
It was cold and dirty. The reception is open only between 10 and 18
Location of the hotel in the centre
Everything, filthy rooms in an area that appear central on a map but in reality its a ghetto.
Nothing really, the staff wasn't rude, they did the best they could.
