Score from 90 reviews Excellent
Massage, location to beaches and SLO, natural beauty
Too close to main road, restaurant, double taxation on rooms
Great location Comfortable bed bikes to rent to take to the beach private patio spa
fireplace could have been better
we loved the room the hot tubs the setting. Everything it was great!
I didn't like the green lawns, considering California is in a big, massive, historic drought.
Location was near everything we wanted to do.
plumping issues which we report first day but found out was never return by the person on the front desk. Rooms not very well sound proof. Not planning to stay there on our next visit.
The free classes that were welcoming to people of levels and the Jacuzzi on the lanai :-)
Weak Wi-Fi signal
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate our stay plus the facility a 12!
Rest & Relaxation is the name of the game at this place. Each room has a hot tub that you fill with warm mineral springs water to rest those tired bones and muscles. The restaurant is fantastic with all locally grown ingredients on the menu. The Sycamore is fantastic and I recommend you go for a few days, you won't regret it.
The real issue we had was parent control with there children. When we go the a resort it's for rest and relaxation. Not listening to screaming kids in a hot tub.
The mineral hot tub with the room. The dinner at The Garden was incredibly delicious. We would definitely return for a visit to the restaurant. The trails were nice to have close by.
The additional $15.00 fee for services we didn't use. The fee for internet should 1) be included; 2) not be a part of the stay 3)should be charged to people who want to use it. Our goal was to be "unplugged" for a few days. The pool should be included in cost of room. It was unavailable to us the morning of check out because of work around the pool. The grounds/buildings seemed run down. Our bathroom door wouldn't shut without effort; a step on the ladder in the pool broke as my husband climbed out - he only weighs about 190. Would like to have seen the help volunteer to help. Cleaning the second day found 1 bathrobe not replaced, coffee still in the pot, and the ice container still sitting on the bathroom floor.
its always booked lol its hard to find a room available
The staff is excellent friendly, informative, The restaurant is excellent great menu.
When using the spa outside the room was very nice and private the sulfur odor dissipated quickly. But when the occupants below us started their spa, the sulfur vapors entered our room through the AC and the odor was somewhat over powering.
I have stayed at this resort many times over the last 10 years. I come here because of the location, the resort property itself, the included classes and because each room has a private hot tub.
I don't know why, but the customer service here is always mediocre. The phone seems to ring and ring and ring, whether it's reservations, room service or the spa. Also, we had room service twice on our last stay, and both times we did not get what we ordered for 3 out of 4 entrees. Granted, it was delicious.
Rats in the attic made noise all night
The Sycamore Mineral Springs staff make use feel welcomed during the entire stay. We used most of the hotel facilities and each encounter with staff was a joy! Please pass on our appreciation.
Television never worked, during our four days and I never received a message that they worked on it until I asked. Otherwise we enjoyed the hotel very much.
It was very peaceful and quiet. I liked that it was a bit rustic in its sorroundings.
This "resort" is very outdated. Needs to update furniture, needs air conditioning, needs to move parking lot far away from rooms. This felt like your standard hotel when it seemed to be advertising more luxury. The restaurant was not good either. I had the breakfast there and the eggs were undercooked and the hollandaise sauce for the Eggs Benedict was very plain. The hot tubs were outdated--need to fill up yourself with pvc pipes?! Seems a little industrial for a resort. This place has a lot of potential, but lacked a lot of new amenities (new tv, air, new furniture, etc.) Would not recommend.
Relaxing atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff
Overpriced, even charged fee for using credit card
The atmosphere in nature, the service, the property and the outdoor hot tubs, as well as being so close to the beach
The bathroom was too small, no counter space for toiletries, very annoying
The location, spa, private balcony with hot jacuzzi, yoga classes, bike rental, hiking trails.
The family that was next to us the second night, they had kids running around and they were loud.
The grounds were very nice. The staff was helpful and very kind. Very relaxing place.
The restaurant was over priced for the food they offered. Taste was ok and the menu is very limited. They also offered a different menu inside than they do outside and tried to persuade us to dine inside where they had a more limited menu. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.
Loved the food at the bar.
great food in restaurant, privacy of in room mineral spa, hiking trail to beach
Being nickeled and dimed for things like water (should have iced water available for free everywhere on premise - it's a health spa!) and having to rent hillside hot tubs or Oasis for extra fee.
Location Great Food
Room was dated. Not ideal for families with infants. Was really hard to push a stroller up hill. Room/bathroom was too small to accomodate baby's needs. Pricey for room ammenities.
New king suits are excellent !
Carpet smells in old queen suit
