Score from 94 reviews Good
The room was clean and a good size. Also they provide a breakfast, although it is basic! There are few restaurants and bars int the area plus a number of bus connections.
The noise from the main road is sometimes very disturbing but this is a problem for many motels.
Broken air conditioner Poor condition of shower floor Couldn't control hot/cold water in shower.
The price is pretty high with its facilities and decoration.
Motels are very expensive in this area, but this one offers reasonable rates and is more than satisfactory
The room, the bed, the aircon very effective in cooling down the room.
The location, the reception, the bs breakfast, the aircon it is either fully on or fully off, all halfway points are still very loud. Lack of ventilation, and the feeling of insecurity with their large motel style windows.
Close to highways
The room smelled bad. Air conditioner was not cooling down the room. Bathroom was filthy. The back of refrigerator and behind TV stand was disgusting to say the least.... I recommend the use of a vacuum cleaner and remove the dust bunnies that have collected and are growing in size.
convenience, kept pretty clean for an older hotel, friendly staff
needs updating, rug cleaning, mold cleaning in bathroom shower
Very nice staff, ideal location, nice breakfast
Blue-white lamps created a cold light instead of a warm welcoming light in the room. Room cleaning service was not regularly timed or consistent. Curtains didn't close all the way. Very loud partying in a room downstairs for several nights. No recycling / composting!
NICE ROOM, COMFORTABLE BED. GOOD BREAKFAST.OVER ALL A VERY NICE STAY.
Personnel were pleasant and prompt.
broken shower drain cover Had to call for a second towel--only one was in the room.
This was suppose to be a disabled room. My husband could not walk around the bed with his walker nor could he get into the bathroom door as it was to narrow. There were no bars on the bath or toilet area for him to hold onto. We will be reporting you to the handicap society and the disabled veterans as booking a room that was suppose to be disabled and was not. Room #101 and 108 were supposed disabled and they are not. There was a disabled parking space in front of the room and this was good.
I like the environment, the staff.
There is no slippers, no tooth brush, no tooth paste. These things are not expensive but without them it is not convenient. Breakfast is too simple, and always the same.
The staff was very friendly and when I told them the directions that I received from the Travel Lodge web site were hard to follow, they wanted to see them and said they would contact them to improve. They also extended the Stanford Hospital Patient discount to my father. Something you should add as an option when booking a room in Palo Alto, Ca. The morning breakfast was very nice.
The rooms were older, and could use some tender loving care.
Location is exellent and the balance quality/price compared to other hotels in the area is very good.
The lights in the ille are too bright and the drapes from the rooms do not cover it enough. You should think about adding some blackouts that actually cover the sides of the windows.
King sized bed Comfortable desk chair and desk new dresser luggage rack Lighting fixtures worked fine with extra electrical outlets Flat screen TV and remote Good morning coffee in the front office each morning
Overall cleanliness was poor, e.g., I found two bugs in my ice bucket 2nd morning and one bug in ice bucket 3rd morning - (note the ice machine was outside next to the entrance of the front office); staff did not replace the plastic bag after use. Coffee machine missing a lid for the water holding area. Molding around front vinyl window was not completely attached and was plainly sticking out. Stairway and walkway dirty, which was out of place/context for the great location near business offices. No pool but signs still posted Patio over office locked with excess furniture for storage which was an eye sore! As a result there was only one table/four chairs available in the cramped office for continental breakfast items. In my room, the door light switch must be on in order for the bathroom light to work. Wanted to charge me $20 when I requested a late check out of two hours, and there was no charge for one hour. New paint was poorly applied in room, i.e, paint is peeling around the door, an certain areas around the bed were clearly needing paint to cover the removal of previous items. Also entrance door extra security blocking lock was broken, which I reported as broken. Older refrigerator has cracked plastic exposed rails. Large available for sale sign in the parking lot. Apples were very soft/beginning to wrinkle in the front office, which didn't seem fresh. Sunday price was more expensive than Saturday due to proximity of business offices.
We booked, sight unseen, and hotel was filthy, cheap, and disgusting. We left in the middle of the night as we couldn't stand the smell or dirt in this motel. Will never recommend this motel to anyone who needs to be near Stanford hosp. For surgery, as we did.
Helpful staff, thank you
Water pressure, shower room 204 sucks
Location price staff was great
A little small and run down. Used to higher end rooms.
bad bathroom--tiny shower and not very clean.
Close to Standford University and nice shopping. Easy to get to from airport. The motel is old, but felt comfortable.
There was a problem with a reassignment of rooms and someone attempted to access our room at 2:00 AM! It was very frightening at that hour and there was no official person to explain that the issue was resolved on their end. I spent the rest of the night worrying that someone might to enter the room again. When I went to the office in the morning, the clerk just said, "Ya there was a change of rooms and the other individual wasn't aware of it". No further explanation, no apology, no nothing. The rooms didn't feel that secure in the first place, so it was not a very comfortable night. They didn't seem to care in the least. I would look for different lodging in the future.
