Location and friendly staff
Slow to pick up the phone. They seem to be understaffed ...
No was all good
Its a good hotel with great facilities and a pleasant staff
The location is perfect. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfy. Staff is helpful..
Bed very comfortable location great
Expensive breakfast and wait line long
It was a very nice place. Though they do get you on different taxes, state, city, and Convention Center. The last one I have no clue why.
Though they do get you on different taxes, state, city, and Convention Center. The last one I have no clue why. Also parking is really costly at $49 a day.
The location and service are amazing!
Needs some updating to keep up with the other 5* hotels in town
This is a gracious, older hotel with wonderful customer care. The rooms are lovely, the staff attentive and the location excellent. We also enjoyed the warm and comfortable lounge area on a very cold day.
Great location next to the park. Spacious rooms Comfortable beds Plentiful supplies of everything in the bathroom Very helpful and welcoming check-in staff at reception
I ordered the room service Continental breakfast. It was very disappointing. Just toast and fruit and at a cost of USD 30.
A wonderful mix of old fashioned courtesy and modern facilities
Beautiful old school rooms, great size. Staff were friendly particularly the receptionist who left us some treats as there was a slight issue with the wifi. Can't beat this location!!
spent the weekend to celebrate my birthday with my daughters their husbands and my 2 beautiful grand children! The hotel, staff and location helped make it a perfect weekend.
like the room. And the view. pulic gardens
leaving wish i could stay again . i would rate hotel for free stay intrested
Great room. Wonderful personal service. And the best clam chowder I've ever tasted (and I live on Cape Cod) All in all you cannot go wrong with a booking at the Taj. $49.00 a day for car storage is very reasonable for city prices. Centrally located and a short cab ride to the North End for the best food ever. Recommended restaurants - the first one you see!!! You can't go wrong. The food is delicious! Book Boston and enjoy!!!
Service. There was a mix-up with my Saturday night booking.com reservation. (Possibly a point-and-click error by me, although I'm still incredulous.) It was quickly resolved by two exceptional people at the front desk though. Especially Jessika. Better room, too, and we decided to stay a second night. Just extraordinary service at every point of contact.
Not a bad experience at all, but the lobby is not spacious or overly comfortable. It was freezing cold in Boston and there was nowhere great (or even warm) to go while your room was being done, for example. It's an old building (the original Boston Ritz); and there may not be anything you can do about the size of the lobby. I would open the bar, which has a gas fireplace, on such a cold day though. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cider. Maybe even complimentary on such a freezing day -- I know you have to make a profit though.
Staff, bar is great.
Took me 20 minutes to get on to the wi-fi. Reason was there was no power coming out of the electrical sockets near the desk, plus the connector on the wired connection was broken. And the light by the window didn't work.
They made our anniversary feel special.
very friendly staff
Room service trays left in hallways for hours
We were upgraded when we checked in! We were so impressed with the extra special treatment we received as we were celebrating our anniversary. Room service was amazing. The robes are super comfy and the room was clean! Would highly recommend when staying in Back Bay!!
The matress could be a little more plush and comfortable
Bed heating staff breakfast options location
Lack of double glazing Bathrooms need updating Tea making facilities
The cafe is very poorly staffed after letting go all the wonderful older staffers that had been there for years
The heating system is so old you can barley breath and in general over the course of the take over it must have lost a start because this is not a 5 star hotel. It looks over all tired and old and the restaurant looks like it needs a big make over.
