Flott hotell, flott beliggenhet

Taj Boston er det gamle Ritz Carlton, som var (er?) det mest kjente luksushotell i Boston. Ritz Carlton har flyttet til et nytt bygg, kanskje grunnet litt mindre hotellrom og særlig bad enn det som er blitt vanlig i amerikanske luksushotell. Men jeg var veldig begeistret for den sjarmen som ble igjen i det gamle bygget - her sitter historie i veggene. Hotellet er vel verdt pengene, og selve beliggenheten kan ikke være bedre.

Frokosten er god men veldig dyr.

The location was fantastic being, effectively, in the centre of Boston city. Also, the café in the hotel had excellent service and food.

The noise of generators located in the middle of the building

Love the old world charm of the rooms. Favorite bar in Boston!! Hotel staff always go above and beyond. Hands down my favorite hotel in Boston.

Bathrooms are a little shabby

The staff were wonderful. This is a very nice hotel but it was better by far because of the employees who made the experience a real pleasure.

We got upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Valet parking was a good touch if expensive. Great location and nice and quiet.

Turn down service appearing at our door at near enough 10:00pm. Thought the room was very much geared at men. Lots of desk space, shoe shining, pressing etc but absolutely nowhere, other than the bathroom, for a lady to put on makeup. Other than that would stay again.

Great location. Elegant entrance, smooth check in, polite and very helpful staff. Public areas were beautiful and tastefully furnished. Corridors bright, wide and clean. Room was superb! Fantastic view over park. Bell boy quick to bring up bags. Big room and lovely bathroom. Lovely soft bathrobes and room slippers, good toiletries, safe, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, all clean and working. Furniture in room was very well kept and tasteful. To cap the lot, it was the best bed I have ever slept on in my life, even better than my own at home. I think we had goose down pillows and duvet. Nice turndown service at end of day, with two bottles of water. The bar was also very elegant, and in my opinion not overly priced.

Housekeeping knocked on door too early - 8.30.

No coffee maker in room Temperature control not good.

Hospitality, style of answering your questions

Crediting 150 dollars per day from my credit card for the expenses in the hotel such as breakfast parking dinner etc. They will payback to my credit card if ı don't spend this is unnecessary you can credit rhe extras during checkout

Location is perfect - right 'in' Boston. Walking distance of public transportation, restaurants, shops and the beautiful park. I have to rave and congratulate Guest Services and the wonderful treatment we had: Mr. Mehmet Kugu(Director) is your perfect gentleman and runs his staff like clock work. Sara Huang at the front desk is a pearl; she went out of her way and did her very best to help and accommodate us. Excellent service and exactly what one expects at a hotel like the Taj... It was a breath of fresh air after being mistreated by a colleague at check-in. Again, our endless thanks and appreciation.

Had one very unpleasant experience at check-in with Amit Malhotra. Very unfriendly, unwilling, unhelpful and a terrible attitude problem. Luckily I knew best and asked someone else for help; if not it would have been a horrid stay and money waisted. It was not at all the service expected at the Taj.

The staff were excellent and attentive. The hotel is comfortable and luxurious and well sited for attractions within Boston.

Parking was expensive at $44 per night.

Lovely spacious room with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! Convenient location for touring Boston and helpful concierge staff to help you get the most out of your stay.

The location was fantastic. We had a view of the Public Gardens park which was lush and beautiful. Close to the Green line subway, so we had easy access to so many places in Boston.

The A/C in our room was not working well. The engineer brought us a fan which helped. Small bathroom...pretty, but small.

A very attentive staff made our stay very enjoyable, an upgrade to a room overlooking the park was greatly appreciated. Wonderful location

Friendliness , comfort, position

Staff was incredibly nice, attentive and focused on their guests happiness. Hotel has nice bones, generally high quality finishes. See dislikes for more commentary. Entire staff did everything humanly possible to compensate for the problem, including reducing my room rate, so I give them the highest possible recommendation. Location is exceptional for the leisure traveler and I surmise the business traveler as well. Great lobby bar - did not eat at the hotel so cannot offer evaluation of the food. Except for the A/C situation, a great hotel.

The hotel needs to bite the bullet and replace their obsolescent HVAC system. Room could not be cooled and humidity level in room made it worse. Switched rooms thinking the problem might be just that room, but similar experience with second room and definitely a hotel-wide problem. While it was a hot couple of days in Boston, I don't think I ever saw a disclaimer that warned that guests would not be comfortable if the temperature was above 90' !!

You have to ask for every little thing, and every little thing is very well charged separately. But, even charging and even being a LHW, they don't answer the telephone before the 5th tone, never. And not rarely they don't answer at all (for example to pick up your car in the 44usd/day valet, they ask you to call 30 minutes in advance, but they don't answer the phone). They don't have top sheets, they want you to cover directly with the blanket in a 80f Boston summer and use the AC on maximum, I presume... We've been there for 3 days, and we need to ask for top sheets everyone of the 3 days. Not coming back. Sorry.

We needed a two room suite because we were traveling with our infant and the set up was good. The front desk staff and reservations staff were excellent.

The air conditioning barely worked the whole stay! The best they could offer was a fan. It was 75-80 degrees in our room the whole time, and muggy. We slept horribly. Then, when we went to check out it took an hour for the valet to get our car, but no one told us this when we called for the car, so we left the room and had to wait in the lobby with a cranky infant. No fun for us or other guests.

Only nice staff members were the valet staff and one housekeeper, Nora. Nice large clean room.

The reception area staff were terrible, a shame since this is the first impression. It wasn't just with us, they were short and rude with others in front of us as well.
