Tarrytown House Estate was the perfect location for our sojourn to view the autumn leaves and goings on in the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow area. The grounds were lovely and it was close to all things we wanted to see. Beds were comfortable and staff was attentive.
We stayed in the adjacent new building and our room necessitated walking up/down some steps due to the building built into the hillside. We were not advised of this. While it was no problem for us, it might be difficult for some persons.
Comfy bed, beautiful grounds and polite, friendly staff.
Overpriced room service. room located far from reception and breakfast as a lone female traveller this seemed inconsiderate. Shower was poor, small towels. Decor worn. A bit disappointing.
Lovely place, nice staff
This conference center is enormous. We got lost twice trying to get from our room to the parking lot.
comfortable beds, good breakfast , nice garden , helpful staff
Quality of WiFi service
$7.50 for a bottle of beer Room was costly without a clear reason why
Restaurant and fitness center not in main building. Parking crowded and inconvenient with uphill walk to lodging.Interior dated.Noisy doors to room, need to be slammed to close.
Setting, service, amenities (indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, fitness center). Staff is courteous and helpful. Restaurant offers a stunning view of the Hudson.
Everything. Hotel and its environment is beautiful. Restuarant is good. Services overall is good
The grounds were beautiful and it was quiet and peaceful the weeken we were there.
Long walk to our room with many stairs. Not accessible by elevator. TV volume was set on maximum and yet couldn't be heard over AC. Service was called but not available until next day. By then we had figured out how to turn off AC so we could hear TV. Bell hop promised to call local restaurant to make reservations but then forgot to. Thank goodness we followed up with front desk. No refrigerator in room.
best bed we've ever slept on; friendly, helpful staff; reasonable prices at hotel and at delicious restaurant.
not a thing
Pretty but not much more
No main bar only a very over priced restaurant with a small bar . no place to hang out and have a few drinks . nothing to do there . My pool is bigger at home . Just seems like all they want is weddings. Way to much of a walk to get to room. Not even any glasses in room. Not worth 1/2 the money.
With several sections to the facility the distance from the front desk to our room was quite long and up and down different levels
Nice environment. Good place to go to when you want to get out of NY.
The pool closes at 6pm on a summer weekend. WHY?
air conditioning blew on me all night unless I turned it off and then it became too warm.
The grounds and location are beautiful. Staff are very pleasant and accomodating, with the exception of the lifeguard.
We came here to celebrate a special occasion and as a mini getaway from the city, hoping to relax. Well, the property was overrun by children running amok all over the place. Our two days at the pool were spent having to endure constant screaming, running, jumping, and splashing, while the childrens' parents sat back having drinks the entire time. I could not even concentrate on reading a book due to this! We spoke to several other couples of varying ages and backgrounds, and they all agreed that their getaway had been ruined by this as well. Definitely NOT a place to relax, unless management implements some sort of rules regarding children (separating the pool area, making sure parents are with their children at all times, etc.). It's a shame, because we would have loved to return.
The staff was so polite and helpful. The front desk provided great recommendations for dinner and car services. The pools were great and the grounds are expansive.
I wish the outdoor pool stayed open later than 6pm Also, for the price, I wish the rooms were a little less "hotel" feeling and a little more like a bead and breakfast. The decor was a little stale (just within the rooms - every thing else in beautiful.)
The pool size
1. Terrible room service food and prices. 2. On checkout, I was in a hurry and the bag carrier didn't speak English and he walked me and my two small children all over the building and founds on the wet Lawn. He had no clue where parking lot 3 was! I got all sweaty and wet feet. 3. No lights by the pool when it got dark! Pool bathroom was filthy. 4. The staff was not friendly at all. It's like they didn't want us there. There was no one there in fact! 5. There was no valet service! I had two small kids and bags and they looked at me like I was asking for help?? 6. The bathroom in the room needed cleaning. 7. Room smelled moldy. 8. Air conditioner blows on your head all night. Poor room design.
Location, quiet, pool, gym, garden. Great confortable bed.
- clean rooms - friendly reception and staff - location along Hudson River; great views - historic building/rooms when you stay in the Kings Mansion-wing
- thin and poor walls between rooms; very noisy neighbours. - Business & family hotel with lots of noisy children. - Fitness, sauna & pool really need to be upgraded.
beautiful location, surroundings, landscaping, friendly and informative staff, the room size was all right we were surprised not to have a small refrigerator.
For the price of the room we found the charge of the "pure water", Poland Spring, bottle ,$2/piece ,unnecessary...just a nthought.
Cellar 49 restaurant service and food is excellent ....
Car park far away from my room, but just not convenient for kids and heavy suitcase.
Converted mansions set among multiple acres in a premier location with easy access to Manhatten.
View of Hudson River was blocked by mature trees. Darn.
The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are fine. During the week the hotel was pleasant and quiet but come the weekend it was a different story with very "interesting" & loud guests.
The walls in the rooms are very, very thin. We could here EVERYTHING going on in the next room (fighting, swearing & sex). Ended up checking out a day early and checking in somewhere else.
The grounds are beautiful for walking.
Staff was great, facilities were perfect (indoor/outdoor pool, basketball, racquetball, weight room, sauna, jacuzzi, tennis). Cellar 49 (restaurant) was delicious. Grounds were immaculate. Will definitely go back--felt far away from nyc even though it's so close.
