was disappointed that there was no elevator..i am over 80 and it was difficult climbing setairs
location was good ....very quiet at night
Breakfast was a little spartan, but there was fresh fruit and juice and it was adequate. Just nothing to brag about.
We were looking for a hotel near Universal Studios and other northern LA attractions and this suited the bill. Courteous, helpful staff. Site was cozy and easily accessible to freeway and dining.
The parking lot was on the side of the hotel...not in the middle like most hotels. We were a little concerned about the safety of our car but all was ok in the morning. The shower hadn't been redone since the 70's.
It was the cheapest hotel I could find by about $50.
No hand lotion. No toothpaste
The bed was too soft, pillows very hard and the breakfast bread items had a freezer taste to them.
The staff was very nice and the pool area very clean. In its day I am sure it was a very nice place.
Rooms a little shabby, need new carpeting, wall paper, tiling, etc. Dark.
Price and central location for exploring the rest of the valley and topanga canyon.
After getting stuck in traffic which doubled our travel time and caused us not to arrive until 3am, I was initially relieved that they had still held my room. My boyfriend and I were less than impressed with the moisture stains , dust and small dead flies scattered throughout but the beds seemed clean and that's all we cared about at that time. He hopped in the shower, I went to use the toilet then had to stop when I saw half of the seat was covered in urine droplets. I immediately called the front desk, less than ten minutes after checking in, 3 times from the room phone and one from my cell before walking back down to try to reach someone. When the clerk finally opened the door and and let me in I said "I've been trying to call you. There's pee all over the toilet." His response "What do you mean?" "There's urine all over the toilet." Long story short, he immediately offered to check me out because there were no more rooms. He suggested I use water and a towel from the room to clean it myself because there were no maids and he couldn't get to cleaning products. I think he finally realized I was about to lose it and he came to the room to "Check it out". He attempted to accuse my boyfriend of making the mess which I promptly shut down. Finally, he left and magically found what looked like glass cleaner and wiped the seat. When he left he mentioned he would speak to the manager about a credit. The next morning we went to "breakfast" (don't rely on this if you need sustenance of any sort) only to find ourselves locked out of the room upon our return. It was only 9 an and our reservation was for 2 nights. I went to the front desk to find who I assumed to be the manager (he never introduced himself). They deactivated my key so I would come to the office for a $22 refund. We were already running late to meet up with our group!
Beds and old shower
nice breakfast, clean facilities
Location and price
When I made the reservatiion I didn't know that there was construction at the property, so at 7:00 there was a lot of noise.
The property was attractive and no noise from the freeway. The room was comfortable.
The bed we stayed in, a King size was older and sagged in the middle. However, the Inn is doing some renovation and I hope the beds will be replaced as we would stay with them again the next time we are in the Valley.
The location was very nice for our stay. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good.
1. Toilet leaked and ran all night. 2. Motor running in the overhead of bathroom. 3. WiFi not operating the second night.
Nice little shower, Quick hot water. Remote shower head. Nice towels. Comfortable bed.
No pen in the room to write with
Very tropical and clean
The staff member was very polite and generous .. The room was very clean. Would most definitely stay here again!
The pool was beautiful and all staff members were very helpful and friendly. If I needed anything, the owner or one of his staff was eager and willing to help.
Well, where do I start. Firstly, no Wi-Fi, had to use my mobile phone as a hotspot. Second, started some construction before 8 A.M. and was told that there was nothing they could do about it. Third, toilet issues. Call the front desk and was told there was no one to fix it. To that I responded "you're here". He came some time later to fix it. And last but not least, I do not appreciate that there were employees watching my every move. Twice I had come from the gas station next door to have employees watching me like I was a Criminal. No "Hello" or "How are you doing?" I was going to mention my experience upon checkout but was never asked. So, since they didn't want to know, I thought you might.
It was conveniently located for my needs. The room was well appointed.
Didn't dislike anything.
we only stayed for one night but the room was very clean and comfortable. The only downfall was bathroom size it was a shower not a tub and not enough space from toilet to shower. Rooms need a bit of renovation. Other than that. Great stay would definatly stay again.
Limited breakfast; Hard boiled eggs & more fruit would be nice. Construction & repairs started early
Staff helpful Coffee maker & fridge in room; what more could you ask for??
The best location near The Jewish Home for The Aging, and within 0.5 miles of Avis car rental agency.
Can't turn off 'info'mercials or change channels on TV.
Tarzana Inn pretty much provided what I requested which was a "quiet" location. I was able to focus on the purpose of the trip.
We've been staying at Tarzana for the past four years once a year and always got a special rate to stay the week. This time we were told that because of the new owners we could not get our special rate. We were not warned that there would be be (and was) construction all day long, very noisy and dusty! They tried to charge us more for our daughter when she came to stay one night. In the end they didn't. The rooms are on the small side, not much room to move around. The price was high, especially given the construction. The owners were not around. Sorry Tarzana, but you've lost us!
Location is excellent. Right near our favourite sushi restaurant in the world and across from Ross! Upscale bedding and towels!
The shower head need new unit
This hotel is in need of a serious renovation. Rooms were dirty, walls were scratched, and to top it off, there was a sweater left in the room on the floor which is an indication of how well the room was cleaned. Overall, thumbs down.
Nice, clean, comfortable
