everything except the bed and a/c unit
hardest bed I have ever slept on a/c unit was noisy and the room was so hot even with the a/c on I would have liked to open a window but solid glass except for a tiny kitchen window and sliding door
Close to the beach, the view was spectacular.
Beds uncomfortable, price too much, coffee should be available all day, not just 7-10.
Checking in. Customers can hear everything happening in Lobby Bathroom. Also clerk mentioned coffee in the morning. We wanted some as we were checking in but clerk "did not get it" --guests want coffee?
The location is great right across from Santa Cruz pier, the staff were friendly when checking in. You can see the potential.
Most of he hotel was blocked off for construction and the pool was shut (winter). The construction started at 6am after not being made aware it would be on. The place could do with a good restaurant also.
view, cleanliness, location, newness of the facilities, maid service, size of the ice bucket, giant shower for two, parking
Location was excellent, walking distance to wharf and Boardwalk. Room was large with amazing shower, hardwood floors and nice kitchen. Nice touches. Love sitting in Adirondack chairs outside room looking at the ocean view.
Restaurant below was closed for seasonal vacation, Boardwalk also closed.
Good location for getting about without need for a car. Handy for restaurants and the bus and tram stops. Also walking distance to the Alcatraz Ferry. The reception staff were most helpful especially Bryan.
If a light sleeper I would recommend taking a top floor room as we could hear people in the room above walking about, which they appeared to do rather a lot.
Second level up from street quieter.
Heater a bit noisy.
customer service location
Had alarm go off 5+ times in the evening. Thinking that it was linked to the entire facility, I let it ring for 30-minutes before I pressed the reset button. I did not want to unplug thinking that it was against policy rules of my stay so it continued to ring every hour in the middle of the night. Horrible experience.
The view and the beachy clean room.
Pot a broom & dustpan in the room.
The view of the ocean and wharf. The bed was extremely comfortable. Walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops.
Noise at night. You want to sleep with your window open to hear the ocean but there is an area where people hang out and it gets loud.
location every day the ocean is right there. The rooms are always a good size and never dirty. I always recommend to my friends
Love the location, comfortable room and nice views of the ocean and beach. Kind of pricey for off season. Easy parking and friendly staff. Would probably come again.
If you don't book a deluxe room can get a better value elsewhere.
fantastic views and great location. Very comfortable rooms.
had some issues with maintenance - toilet was leaking and had to move rooms which was a pain but management made it right which we appreciated. Not sure the pool was heated as promised though.
AWESOME BATHROOMPHILOSOPHY The beach is really close to the hotel The rooms are comfortable, clean, with hairdry and candys The staff IS really nice
It's difficult yo get into the parking Once in the parking someone postes something ON the back window and damages de rentacar
Location was great and the room was clean with nice decor and shower !
Kitchen amenities and dishware; cleanliness
Room was too warm especially at night despite using cooler 24/7 (we visited in October). Need ceiling fan? Room also too bright during night due to security lights and only shutters on windows. Basically did not sleep. Need room darkening curtains?
Great location Great view Excellent value
No king bed
location to downtown Santa Cruz
The closet door needed WD40 on the hinges.
Great ocean view for the money. Close to Boardwalk and Wharf. Quiet, clean and well decorated.
Lack of parking, no food available after 10 p.m. on a weekend evening in walking distance.
This hotel has made fabulous changes to the whole facility. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
Could see the ocean from your room. great bathrooms and good TV
maybe a better pool
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The weather was perfect! The beach and wharf were not as busy as summer months. Our room was very nice and had everything we needed. Property was well equipped and very clean. Loved the outdoor barbecue and firepit area. Did not get a chance to use the nice pool but it looked so inviting! Had a very restful stay!
Nothing really other than you might consider installing a ceiling fan in the units to circulate the air. Otherwise the stay was problem-free!
Everything was great. Pity tea is not provided in kitchen. Love the decor and bathroom! Insect netting in bathroom needs cleaning though.
I loved that we were right across from the beach and the pier. The beach side rooms would be the best choice (if cost isn't an issue) over the pool side rooms if you want the view and patio. We had pool side because of price and they were still great. The cafe "The Picnic Basket" was located down on the street below and so delicious and convenient. With two older boys we were always on the go and could walk to so much. I loved getting up for my morning walk along West Cliff Road. It was absolutely beautiful!!
For me personally, the beds were uncomfortable and the pillows too hard. We were pool side and above the door and windows were long thin windows. They were great for the day but at night the lights, that get left on outside, keep the room too light. I stuffed pillows up there to darken.
