Room was very nice. Property was beautiful and staff up to the point of checking out were very nice.
Noise, noise , noise!!! My room was in the long term residence wing. There was constant noise. I checked out early this morning so I could go the airport and take a nap. Constant partying all night , doors slamming , people screaming. This was just not for one night. Each night of my stay there was kind of noise. I feel like hotel security should maintain a nice environment for all its guests. There was no point in trying to work in my room during the day because of all the construction noise across the street. This was not the hotels fault however people should be aware this is not a quiet relaxing location. It seems to be a party hotel . Check out was lack luster. The women at the desk never looked at me and never asked me how my stay was. While checking out her manager came out and asked in front of me " what does he want?" without ever greeting me. Ice maker in the room did not work and the tv constantly changed channels or reset randomly.
Loved the use of art for overall ambiance.
With only one elevator...the walk to our room was not insignificant.
Comfortable, interesting, creative, atmosphere
No bad experience just wasn't a 10 for me.
The art vs hotel style
This had a different feel from any other hotel I've ever been to. It was kind of a bit too much.
Staff was attentive to all our needs, loved the beautiful rooms!
Loved the food in the bar/restaurant. Staff very friendly and room was impeccably clean and very chic. Would stay there again!
No bad experience
Great staff, great accommodations!
We loved this hotel. Our room was comfortable, the staff is fantastic, the lobby bar is amazing, the restaurants are wonderful, it's perfect.
Ease of location. Helpful and friendly staff. Room was nice. Brunch in Market Place was outstanding.
Vomit in elevator. The room above us was loud and a lot of movement (loud) across their floor and on our ceiling.
The art was a cool feature.
I didn't get a breakfast voucher... paid 40 bucks for an omelet made to order, and my lady had some fruit and potatoes. 40 bones?? Ouch.
The Alexander was the perfect meeting point for our families in Indianapolis. Loved the ART!!!! Super friendly staff, Thanksgiving buffet was tops! From a Hotel Intercontinental catering background, everything was well orchestrated. Tons of towels! ! Nice to stay at a hotel where the owners opened their wallets to art and design!
For 20% occupancy why were we put in a handicapped room? Water splashed out the shower and into the door frame.. mold issues ahead. Asked to have the ventilation cleaned as it was fuzzy on the outside. (They did it). Dropped earrings under the dresser and saw mountains of dust. Did not like getting out of bed to turn the lights off. Pod coffee is one step up from instant? Would have preferred a pot delivered to the room. Disappointed that the inviting seating in the bar was so cold next to the big windows...
Proximity to downtown and Lucas Oil Stadium.
Hotel attempted to overcharge several times. A "suite" upgrade for $25 was offered to us which we took. "Suite" meant kitchenette and a handicapped shower. We immediately asked for our original room as the upgrade was not a "suite". They then charged me $70 more for the quoted $25 upgrade that we did not even take. We were also overcharged on our room rate that was supposedly guaranteed via booking.com, we had to show them our paperwork from our online order before they would adjust our rate I had to speak with the front desk three separate times to get the correct bill, and they were confrontational regarding the rate correction and the "suite" correction. I will not stay here again.
The Alexander Hotel is a beautiful hotel with a European flair. Our king room was very large, had a comfortable bed, free Wi-fi, decent size bathroom, and big TV. The staff was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Indianapolis.
Location and staff
Value could be a bit better price point of $169 for indy
The art work is well placed and thought out.
I couldn't ask for anything better! Newer hotel with all of the amenities. We had a California King room with a huge walk-in shower, 2 classy bars with great food, lots of beer choices. It was the most affordable upscale hotel downtown. I highly recommend it.
Can't think of one thing!
The vinyl flooring in the room was more updated and cleaner than the carpet. Options for restaurants in hotel. Did not have to leave hotel. Art work was fantastic.
Not a lot right around hotel itself.
The ambiance, it's location, the comfort and cleanliness.
it is contemporary and unique, friendly and comfy. Always very clean and I really like how environmentally conscientious.
parking is expensive
Clean. Most of staff was very friendly.
The Valet on arrival was a bit clueless. Lights being linked to room key was obnoxious. No lock on bathroom. A table would have been nice.
From start to finish the hotel was an absolute joy to stay in. Often after multiple days in the same room in other hotels you find a defect somewhere, not so in this magnificent hotel.
The only downside in my experience was the lack of a bathtub in the bathroom as it was shower only.
The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel.
The room was small for the price, and the decor in it was an affront to the eyes; not what I would call conducive to work or relaxation.
Loved the outdoor seating at the bar
Staff at reservation desk and bar were extremely personable! We enjoyed talking with Dakota in the bar. His soft (communication) skills were excellent! Love staying here! This is our second stay. Definitely will be back!
Nothing negative to say...
I truly enjoyed the decor and luxurious atmosphere. I would be disappointed if I had to stay any where else in Indianapolis
